  1. Ok people, I've always been a bit of a charmer with the ladies. Few laughs, hit em with the eyes and... BANG! I'm in there! As a collegiate athlete and top 20 recruit in high school, I got A LOT of attention! However, life happened.. 15 knee surgeries later and here we are. Well yesterday I went to a Raiders game (been a season ticket holder since they came back from Los Angeles) and a young lady approached me and tried to pick me up!! I was tongue tied for a second but walked with a lil more pep in my step. God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
  2. Wow the UPS guy is right!!! God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..

  5. Ok here's a picture of me from today at the Raiders game. No I'm not the gorilla, I'm the rather "happy" black guy next to him. And before anyone asks, yes I had a margarita. I didn't dump and didn't get drunk. In fact I only drank half!! Lol God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
  6. The first visit was two days after surgery. Imma big baby and couldn't handle the pain (when is the last time you heard a man keep it real like that? Lol). Stayed 4-nights then went home for 3-days. Then I had the endoscopy because my pouch closed on me. Stayed 2-days then home for a week. Finally I was puking so bad that I couldn't keep Water down! Dehydration, yadda yadda yadda equaled another week in the hospital. Finally I'm feeling good and have been lifting like crazy!! I lost 8-inches from my waist, 11-inches from my tummy and added 5-inches of muscle to my already muscular arms!! I feel great!!! God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
  7. Ok so I know I haven't updated in a while but here are the Cliffs Notes. I've been in and out of the hospital for the past month. Bad news I know.. Now for the good news., I FEEL GREAT!! Down 70 lbs and I was offered a position as the Executive Chef for the Hospital group that performed my surgery. God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..

My sister has been trying to get me on one of those shows for years! Between the kids sports and my volunteer work I just don't have the time. I moonlight for Scripps (Food Network) a bit when I travel but that's mostly writing reviews and making suggestions for shows. God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. 18. So I didn't quite have the energy to make gumbo but I did make a seafood based meal. I got with one of my buddies who is an offshore fisherman (and vendor to the restaurant in Monterey) and got some beautiful salmon fillets. So I made Maple Salmon with homemade hoisin sauce, pan-seared asparagus with lemon aioli and the famous chicken rice (but no rice for me). What do you all think? 19. Hahaha awe man that's nothing!! God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
  20. We do a lot of Farm-to-table in out Monterey restaurant. Here's the homemade turkey sausage with beet salad and our house made vinaigrette. God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
  21. I'm sure it will work out. I'm gonna go with a sluree and kitchen bouquet instead of the traditional dark roux. I have something very similar on my menu. I'm thinking about even making the sausage but I'm not sure how far I want to take it. God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
  22. Indeed!!! Have fun!! God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..
