  1. Welcome! I am right where you are. I am trying to get my preposition testing done, approved and surgery scheduled by mid August. I have truly been inspired by everyone here! Thanks for finally coming out of the shadows and saying hello *wink wink*
  2. Where do you get nectar protien from?
  3. Wow congratulations! Focus on nutrition & hydration!
  4. I'm thinking the samething! I don't have one at the moment but planned to buy one.
  5. I am looking forward to being "soda free" as crazy as it sounds. But I want HEALTH.
  6. Welcome! I'm a newbie as well but have learned so much from this wonderful group of people!
  7. My psych eval is Wednesday....I certainly will be disappointed if that happens. Whats weird though is I had two friends who had surgery....one passed the eval, one failed. Both were approved for surgery. I understand the concept behind the testing and think its a good idea, but its kinda counterproductive at times.
  8. Yes I did. It was pretty bad and unfortunately it will never be the same.
  9. I had to do that mess for a colonoscopy last month.....thank goodness I dont have to do that again! Good luck, hope surgery was a sucess and recovery is a breeze!
  10. I haven't had my surgery yet. But my good friend had it last summer. She had about 140 lbs to loose and did it in less than a year. She looks fabulous. It is absolutely possible to loose more than 100lbs.
  11. Great Job!!! Keep up the good work and positive attitude!
  12. Day 3 with no returned call.
  13. Oh wow. Could be the extended time in surgery. Hang in the and think positive!
  14. Hang in there! Have u been using the spirometer?
  15. Good to know. One of my big reasons in having this surgery is to reduce back pain.
  16. I was just curious if any of you decided to start running? Its something I have always wanted to do, but never could. Any tips? How soon post op are you able to start?
  17. I hope thats how it goes for me. I drink a lot too. Prior to having kids I drank diet. But when i was prego my Dr said it was safer to drink the regular, so i switched and never switched back.
  18. Keep your chin up. I would say if your not 100% set on leaving. Start doing your homework and have a plan in place if it come to a "have to" then you will be prepared.
  19. Not everyone that gets disability checks sit back and relax. I certainly wasn't implying that you should or that you would. I haven't returned to work bc my daughters condition could go from normal to critical and life threatening in a matter of a few minutes. I do not want to risk an overworked or frazzled childcare provider not recognizing her symptoms and something happening. Most daycares consider her a liability and will not accept her.
  20. That sounds yummy! I love squash! I'm new and don't have a date yet, so I cant really speak to the liquid diet. But you sound determined and already preplanning so you will rock it!
  21. You don't have to live in a housing after. There are many options available and remember you can get temporary child support thst will eventually be permanent. Have you considered applying for disability for your children? Prior to the birth of my last child, I was the primary income earner. She was born premature and was sick. I was unable to return to work and 5yrs later still haven't. The only income I have is child support and disability for her. Its not much at all but I have a budget and stick to it. I don't live in Sec 8 housing. More than 1/2 my income pays rent & I had to cut out my nail salon trips and other little things. But peace of mind that you and your children are in a more healthy environment is totally worth it.
  22. Then I guess I need to do the obvious and stop now. I am beginning all of my preop testing and was told I could possibly have surgery by mid August. I am going to go ahead and start on the preop diet so that it isn't a delay.
