My reply is always - it was the best decision of my life. I gained my life back!- Tired! Need advice
Being tired is usually an indication of lack of protein. The previous poster said b12, but my doc warned that it does not always give everyone a sense of energy. While you new to make sure you are taking your b12 don't stop taking it if you don't feel an energy boost. Protein is essential for energy it is the fuel for our body. Make sure you are getting in all your protein as a starting point. Also remember you just went through major surgery and sometimes it takes our body a little while to recover.- Issues with protien intake
How long are you post op and what are you allowed to eat?- Cat scan
I was told to drink what I could. I was able to keep it down with our too much problem. I was about 5 months post op when I had to do it.- Gallbladder surgery
Certain foods made the pain a lot worse. Dairy was horrible!- Gallbladder surgery
It felt like someone hit me in the stomach area. The pain is below your ribs and above your stomach.- Emotional NSVs

- Similar stats? 5'6", 250 pounds
Well I can say this - if you stress about it then you will unknowingly hold onto weight. Follow you docs instructions and start working out as soon as you can. Don't get discouraged when the scale does not move because you will be losing your inches! Keep your goal in mind and have fun achieving it! The sky is the limit!!!- Gallbladder surgery
I had mine out at 5 months post op. it was an easy surgery in my long list of surgeries. I was less painful than having the gallbladder in.- 5 hour energy?
I used it recently in an emergency situation and had no issues. I was about 10 months post op at the time.- Similar stats? 5'6", 250 pounds
My best advise to you is two things: When you me doctor says you can start working out - go get your butt in the gym Secondly when you hit your first stall - don't panic. That is when I lost the most inches and in my opinion that was more important than the scale.- Similar stats? 5'6", 250 pounds
I am 5'4 and started out at 256. I lost about 25-30 the first month. At this time I am down 115 lbs and It has been 11 months. I have gone from a size 22 to a 6 - although I might be in a 4 now. Shirts size was a 2xl and I now fit into a s/m. Hope it helps.- Whew! That was intense!
Usually when the weight loss stalls your body loose inches. You are completely normal!- I dont like food:(
Also my doc said it was normal for some people to have this issue. He said as the toxins leave the fat cells they can have this effect on some of us "lucky" ones.- I dont like food:(
I was sick from about week three until about 3 months post op. my doc gave me several things. He gave me a scapolimen(sp) patch and phenergen. The patch is what they use when you take a cruise. Both worked great and yes it does pass!- Opinion on gyms
My suggestion is to go try all of the gyms and see which one is a best fit for you. Most gyms have as part of the new comer package a chance to work with a personal trainer. Once you find a gym that feels right to you ask for that free time. Ask them for a work out program that will help you achieve your goals. Things to ask yourself about each gym: Do you feel comfortable working out there? Is it easy to get to from work or home? Is the price reasonable? Do they have classes I want to take? Do they have a pool? Are the locker rooms clean? Do they have reasonable hours of operation?- UH OH...I'm scared!
Relax the liquid diet is mainly there to shrink your liver. My surgeon said he expected us all to cheat, but not to get to hung up on it. Just get back on the liquid diet and reduce your stress level. The more stressed you are the harder it will be for your body to recover.- Vomiting
I don't think you should be worried. Are you taking your anti-acids?- Arthritis ... What do you take?
My suggestion would be the voltoren gel. They also make them in patches. I have RA and have never been able to tolerate NSAIDS - they make me throw up violently. So I use the gel.- It is so easy to stumble
I have fallen back into my old habits. My parents are staying with my husband and I while their RV is being fixed. All my mom eats is junk food. She has bought cakes and cookies and soda. I don't seem to dump on those items and have begun eating all of it. For the first few weeks I thought I had it under control - I have been so good for a year a few bites won't kill me. On top of that I broke my ankle playing soccer last week. Which means I am not working out like I was. Last night I realized it had gotten real bad. In a few hours time I had eaten 3 small bags of cookies, and crackers. I have stopped drinking my protein shakes and stopped taking my vitamins since I broke my ankle. My plan for tonight is to talk with my parents and then my husband and I will throw out the junk food. I know others have gone through this. When I first started eating like this again I was continuing to loose weight and sizes. Does anyone have other suggestions to get through this bump in the road. I am 10 months post op and have lost 110 pounds. - Carbs
