Who's drinking milk? My RN and surgeon believe that after RNY that people become lactose intolerant, but my nutritionist disagrees. I've been adding 8oz of 1% milk to my Protein shakes and have been ok but when I made a Protein shake with only milk I got nauseous (but I did drink too fast as well). My nutritionist said I could have skim or 1% but I've been bad when I get a latte and get 2% because we don't have 1% at starbucks (where i work) and skim is gross with espresso ;/ - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
2. Kwal where are you from? You look familiar - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
3. I had chosen the sleeve but my insurance wouldn't cover so I had to have the bypass but honestly I'm happier that I had the bypass because it has a higher success rate and is more restrictive and I need that to be successful - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
4. I ended up picking the wrong pic as my profile pic on here and no matter what I do every time I try to change the picture it refuses, is anyone else having this issue? It's driving me crazy - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
5. Single and ready to mingle haha - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
6. Veronica you look fabulous I hope I look that good someday, what surgery did you have and when - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
7. When I sit down on a surface or chair and I hit that surface hard enough that it makes a sound I say "ouch" so it seems more like I fell versus my body being so huge that furniture makes noises when I sit... I'll be happy to no longer do that - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12

I also was told "oh after a few bites of food you'll be full" and "you can only eat 2oz of food before feeling stuffed" and this also isn't so... I can eat more than 2oz without being full... for that matter I almost never feel full, just no longer starving - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12

Everyone told me that I wouldn't experience hunger right out of surgery and would basically have to force feed myself... but I'm experiencing the complete opposite... every few hours I'm STARVING and this scares me because I don't want to get back into old habits ;/ - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
10. Other than being the only person to get a horrendous incision infection from my surgeon I guess I'm doing all right. Very wary since I'm so newly out - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
11. Rofl my surgeon told me I'd never eat bread, rice, or Pasta again. Carbs are also what got me here - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
12. PS sorry for your dickhole coworkers, we've all had to deal with these ignorant idiots. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
13. Nothing like people who judge you for getting the surgery and think less of you for it because it's the "easy way out". I love those who I told I was getting surgery and they say "oh that surgery is so unhealthy, just work out and eat healthy!" work out and eat healthy you say? What is this black magic you speak of? I've never heard of that and certainly haven't tried it, Cookies are good for you aren't they? Fucking morons. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
14. I'm 20 too and am really happy I had mine done so young. Good luck! - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
15. Just realize that it is a life changing surgery and needs a lot of devotion on your end to be successful. The second you believe it's an effortless "quick fix" you will be bound to fail. Learn as much as possible about your surgery. You'll be so happy :] - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
16. Just curious, maybe some of us are closer to each other than we think? I'm from west palm beach, florida and my surgeon was Paul Wizman - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
17. Wow, well good for you. I don't think I would have been comfortable leaving that soon but then again I'm a baby - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
18. Whoa they're letting you leave day after surgery? I was there from Monday - Friday (I was scheduled to leave Thursday though) - Kaylee Ann<br />- Surgerversary: 6/11/12
19. I had my RNY performed 6/11/12 and also have a concave incision on my left side that is my most painful incision. My surgeon told me the reason it is concave and hurts so bad is he basically tied the muscles together which enables safer healing, but more painful. I went in at 5'8" 263lbs and am sure that the smaller we get the less noticeable that sink hole will be, and my brother (went from 360 to 170) said that his incision scars that used to be 4" long now look like 1/2" cat scratches. Don't forget - you will be a lot sexier with scars than fat - Kaylee Ann
20. Ughhhhh just got home. Worst experience of my entire life, worse than surgery. They shot me 5 times with lido (honestly only felt one though) and then proceeded to cut me open with a scalpel and basically finger banged my insides until all the pus and infection came out. Even with the lido it was very painful, and of course I absolutely LOATHE the feeling of numbness, it bothers me almost to the point of nausea, so the entire time I'm flailing and I even cried due to the pain which I have never done. I've cried plenty of time in fear of pain but never from being in pain. I was just so terrified and overwhelmed. Now I have an open incision with a shit ton of gauze and have to go back every day to get the packing switched and am on antibiotics. This has been the worst day of my life thus far, for awhile I really felt like this surgery wasn't worth it. - Kaylee Ann
21. I had my surgery 6/11 too. They just gave me tylenol with codeine (finally) and am now waiting for my doctor to come in, inject multiple shots of lidacaine into my stomach and use a scalpel to open the old incision and drain whatever is in there. Best case scenario is I leave with gauze and antiboiotics - worse is I'm here overnight and they have to take blood and put in an IV and god knows what'll be wrong with me - Kaylee Ann
