  1. I was told whatever you could chew and tolerate. Celery can be difficult because it is so stringy, but most vegetables should not pose problems. I am two months today and had a small chop salad today, just chew a lot and don't eat too fast.

We make a pesto sauce with parsley, olive oil, teaspoon of lemon juice and canned garlic. Put into blender until in a green paste. Put on salmon filets and bake in oven until done. Iif you like it more runny, just put the pesto on a couple of minutes before salmon is done--just to heat it up. It is wonderful.
  3. I've been going for a long time to 24 hour fitness up in Seattle. When I first started I noticed the young fitness buffs usually did not come early in the morning, I guess they need their beauty sleep:). So I go early before work and notice it is mostly middle aged workers and it is so early they pay no attention to anyone else much. Also they are pretty serious about what they are doing so none of the prancing around trying to get attention in fancy workout gear they just need to get er done and get to work! If I can do this in my 61 year old fat body( on the way to healthy) I know you can. Be encouraged-you will make it!
  4. Start 5/29/12 252, today 218.4! Finally broke through recent stall down 2.8 lbs.
  5. Start weight 5/29/2012. 252 This week 221.6. Slow and steady wins the race!
  6. Anybody have this issue? I'm about 6 weeks outand weight loss has stalled. I've lost a total of 28 pounds. My nutritionist says today that I'm eating too many calories at 700-800 and need to go down to 600. It is hard for me to believe that 700-800 calories is too much for weight loss. But I can do it as I'm probably drinking calories in my morning latte and that will put me back to 600 or so. I also exercise for an hour daily vigorously.
  7. Hi, I've not posted here before but I find it encouraging to see others in a stall as I've been for the last two weeks. I know now it's not unique to me and will eventually pass. I constantly need to remind myself despite the stall there is no way I can not lose at my calorie and activity levels. Those old tapes go off in my head and I need to push stop to continue the healthy changes in my life. What I tolerate in my head is as important as what I put in my mouth! Day of surgery weight 252 5/29/12 Today weight 224.6
  8. I've been going to gym for awhile so Ive had to work up to this. I do 30 minutes of weights on machines and free weights and the eliptical for 30 minutes to 1 hour. It will help to start with a trainer or someone who can set up your weight routine--I would make sure you know how much weight and how many sets and reps to do so you can get the most benefit in the leat amount of time.
  9. He says pretty much do what works. I just started uping my exercise 3 days ago when it appeared I was in a stall. I will be checking with nutritionist in a week if I'm still stuck.
  10. Hi I've been lurking and reading posts for awhile and could not figure out how to post. I had RNY on May 29 weighed in at 253 now at 225 and holding for over a week. I am able to get in enough protein and water and mst food agrees with me. I've thrown up about 3 times because of eating too much too fast but basically I've been pretty symptom free. I exercised before surgery and now have upped to 1 1/2 hours daily. I eat around 700-800 calories each day. I am wondering if this is too much compared to what others are experiencing? I'm deciding to stay off the scale for a week but I see other people's dramtic losses and get worried. What do you all think?

  12. Sorry about that. My doctor said be guided by pain - if it hurts don't do it, but it's ok if you feel fine.
