  1. I was doing reading (my date is June 7) and I read that at 6 months your appetite comes back with a roar! I found sobethjbh where a sr tells you to water load in between meals to make you not as hungry and also to eat protein veg then fruit at every meal because that combo stats in your stomach longer. I don't have the info on me but if you want me to find it and post I can do that. But I've never done it so can't guarantee it works
  2. DL can you send it to me too? My sr only says 50g but I'm going to make my personal goal at least 75. Is that enough? I want to be healthy and have energy. 8 days and counting
  3. Good job- what your doing is so hard but so worth it! Be proud of yourself
  4. My husband grew up in Lemoore and I work in Coalinga but live in Fresno
  5. I have the new doctor in their service- only because he was the only one with office hours on Friday I work a 4/10 schedule an hour away from Fresno so needed all my appointments on Friday if possible. His name is Ghiassi and I'm sue will be as good as either Higa and Boone. I love the feeling their office gives off. So far very happy with service and professional behavior of all the staff.
  6. I am sure she thought she could never eat all of that- aren't we told our new stomachs won't hold that much? I still want to know how Her stomach could hold that much? Plus I think it's a learning process and one we are taking together, thank goodness we have a place in here to ask where we won't get judged for making mistakes!
  7. Congrats John!! Glad things seem to be going so well- you're an inspiration to those of us still waiting for our surgeries!! 12 days and counting
  8. Yes kaiser is totally different. I don't know how kaiser works - I have an HMO through blue cross.
  9. We will survive these last days - my surgery is 6/7 so counting down the days too! I can't wait to start my new life and do all those things I want to do as a thinner healthier me!! But still scared and nervous...
  10. I live in Fresno and having my surgery in Fresno. Which surgeon did you use? My surgery is June 7.
  11. Good luck and let us know how you're doing afterwards!
  12. Let's start a group for those having surgeries next month! It's hard to believe the date is almost here!! Nerves hitting yet? I'm more afraid of failing later then the surgery itself ATM. I'm also nervous about the 3 weeks liquid diet post-op! Anyone else?
  13. I'm here but my surgery is not until 6/7 but I'm sure I'll need this support a lot as the time get closer and after!
  14. Thanks for all your advice! I will pass it on to her! You just backed up what I was telling her, but sometimes you can't hear it from a friend.
  15. She is too embarrassed to call the dr
  16. I have a friend that got her surgery two weeks ago today! She has been one of those that has been miserably starving. Today she was able to start her soft foods, and do she decided to have a scrambled egg. She's freaking out cause she made 3 eggs and ate them all, slowly, and never felt full until after the third egg. Our question is - how can she eat so much already and experience no pain? Can she stretch out her pouch so soon and on 3 eggs? What should she do to ensure she isn't starving all the time but not eat too much? Any suggestions on what to eat and how much? Is this normal? She's worried her pouch has failed and she will fail miserably! Please please help!! Thanks This how thing is so scary and my surgery is June 7, so I'm not able to answer her cause she started this journey first!!
  17. Congrats!! I love how you say you deserve it!! Good luck on your surgery, mine is a week later. I don't have to do any pre op diet and no bowel prep, so it kinda feels surreal. I will work on the 6th and then go in at 530 am for surgery. My dr said they have only had a problem with liver once- so they stopped the preop diet, and felt it was not needed to have bowel prep (must say I'm grateful for no bowel prep). But I have to do full week of clear liquid diet and two weeks of full liquid diet post-op. It smazes me how different all the doctors are and even asked my doctor. He explained it to me and just asked me to trust them and follow their guidelines since they are experienced and that this is an art that they are perfecting. But it still is frustrating how it is so different from dr to dr. Again congrats and good luck on your preop diet
  18. Good luck! Keep us posted and you'll be in my prayers today
  19. Good luck!! Keep us posted! You'll be in my prayers today
  20. Congrats! It's awesome to see this working so well for you
  21. Yes last time I tried this I was denied so never got approval due to losing too much. In pre stage before packet was sent in for approval! But this time I've been approved. But I read somewhere, I think in this forum, that if I gain weight they might cancel surgery - does the worry ever end? Probably not until you wake up and surgery is over!! But then we worry if we will lose enough or gain it back or have complication. Rofl...
  22. Did you get a hold of the insurance person yesterday? Waiting for that aporoval is horrible!! How dare they go home from work!! Don't they know you want an answer? Haha
  23. It's interesting because my dr is not requiring me to do a liquid diet except for the day before and he rarely does open bypass surgery... Makes me wonder how the drs decide what we are supposed to be doing pre- op if the requirements are so different. My friend who just had surgery a week ago with a different dr only had to do liquid diet for two days and had no issues with having it done as a lap. It's just confusing
