  1. Hi Sassy. Welcome to the group! You've really been through a lot. I hope and pray that your revision is exactly what you need to be successful with your weight loss. So happy you found us. We'll be here for you!!
  2. Just call your insurance company. Tell them you want to confirm the doctor's office submitted the paperwork and you want to confirm they have everything they need. Just keep in mind that it may take a few days for your insurance company to actually put you in the system. Good luck and keep us posted!!
  3. Here are some pics of my crazy self! :-)
  4. Hello!! I came home last night (day after surgery). If it weren't for these gas pains in my shoulders, I'd feel great. My heating pad is my new best friend. Today I'm focused on getting my fluids in. It feels great to be on the other side! I will try post some pics of me in the hospital and of my incisions, which look great! My doctor stitched under the skin so I won't have as he called it, Frankenstein dot scars. I have steristrips on top. Got to take a shower too! I must admit though, I've had two c-sections and two sinus surgeries, and this by far was worse. That said, I have improved greatly over the past 24 hours. The one thing I'm most surprised about is that I can take bigger sips than I thought and it doesn't hurt. Small victories!!! Wishing speedy recoveries to all who have crossed over and I'm continuing to pray for those of you who will be going this week!!

  6. Hello everyone! I'm doing well tonight. Surgery went well. Dr told my bubbly I had "good anatomy" and organs all looked really good. LOL So, the gas pains have been brutal, but they are getting better. I have them in my shoulders/neck. The best way i can describe the pain in my stomach is that it feels like I did 1000 crunches. Not sharp, just sore. I also have an On-Q Painbuster, so I have two lines inserted into my stomach administering pain meds. Kinda cool. I have been walking and eating ice chips. The hospital and staff are wonderful and I'm feeling very blessed for this opportunity. Good luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow!! I will be lifting you up in prayer. You'll all do great!! Goodnight, Maria
  7. Hi everyone! I'm doing well. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers!! The gas pain has been brutal, but it's getting better. It is in my neck/shoulders. Nausea is getting better too. I've walked and been sucking on ice chips. This hospital and staff are wonderful. I am so blessed!!! Goodnight, Maria
  8. Thanks Lou! The second nurse got my IV going yeah!!!!
  9. Thanks everyone!! In the surgery prep area now. The one nurse couldn't get my IV started in either arm. I've never had that problem before and I've had about 5 other surgical procedures before. :-/
  10. Thank you so much!! It will be your turn soon!!!
  11. Woohoo!!! Praying for you. You're two hours ahead of me. I go at 10am PST but I'm here at the hospital waiting to go up to the SPA.
  12. Headed to hospital for surgery at 10am PST. I'm so ready for this next phase of my life!! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous at all, but it's more eager anticipation of how different life will be. Looking forward to eating to to live instead of living to eat, and to be able to be more active with my family. I'd be grateful if you could spare a couple of minutes to say a prayer for me and the surgical team. Thanks so much!! Blessings...xoxo
  13. On my way to the hospital!! Praying for everyone else having surgery today. If you could please say a prayer for me and the surgical team, I'd be very grateful!! I will check in as soon as I'm able. LET'S DO THIS!!! xoxo
  14. Hello everyone. I've been so busy this past week with work and being a wife and mom, that I've been reading, but haven't had time to comment much. So, a big congratulations to all of you that had your surgery!! It's so great to hear from you and know you're doing well. For those of us having surgery this week, yeah!!! I will be praying for you!! For those of us having surgery in Monday, can you believe it's only one more day and a wake up?!?! For the new September members, a warm WELCOME to you! I'm Maria and happy to have you as part of the family. Everyone here is so supportive. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you! Have a great Saturday everyone!
  15. So glad to hear you're doing better and that you get to keep your surgery date!! Thankfully, I don't have to do a bowel cleanse. Wow, we have 3 more days and a wake up!!
  16. Hello How are you feeling? What did your doctor say about your cold?
  17. Hi Shelly. During my pre-op appointment, i learned that I will get one while they are prepping me for surgery. They said it doesn't really hurt though because our stomachs aren't as sensitive and they use a very small needle, similar to an insulin needle. It is not supposed to feel like a regular shot or IV.
  18. I'm in Temecula, CA but my surgery will be in San Diego. I'm Maria by the way. :-)
  19. Hi Jessica. Welcome to the group! I'm also scheduled for September 10. We don't have to wait much longer!!
  20. Praying for all of you having surgery today!!
  21. One of my big goals before my surgery on Monday is to make a list of ALL the reasons I'm doing this surgery. I plan to keep a copy with me at all times so if/when I'm having a difficult time, I can remind myself why I did it. I keep thinking of more benefits every day! And if I ever get on here whining and complaining, feel free to tell me to stop and go get my list!!
