  1. Sounds delicious! Would you mind sharing your recipe? I would love to try it. Thanks!!
  2. Yeah!!! When's your surgery? I go to my final pre op appt on Wednesday. I'm so excited but starting to get butterflies every time I think about this really happening.
  3. Congrats! Keep up the great work!!
  4. I think it's when your weight begins with a 1 instead of a 2, 3, etc. :-)
  5. Congrats!! Such an awesome feeling isn't it? So is your surgery still going to be on September 10?
  6. This is probably the only time it's cool to be fat...when we want weight loss surgery! Lol
  7. Welcome! I had to do a 6 month diet because that's what my insurance required. My doctor requires a 2-week liver shrink diet, which is basically high protein, low carb and Sugar, plus 3 protein shakes a day. Good luck on your journey!!
  8. Yeah! Our surgeries are on the same day. I go for my pre-op on August 29, but I have to start my liver shrinking diet August 27. Do you have to do a pre-op diet?
  9. Pebbles, Congrats!! My surgery is on a Monday and I'm taking 2 weeks off. I will work from home the third week, except for that Wed. when I have to go to the office. I hope I have my new routine down by then.
  10. Hi Star, mine is on September 10 too!!!
  11. Congrats Moffie! My surgery is September 10 and I start my liver shrink diet on August 27 too! I'm very excited, but a little nervous too.
  12. I pray you're doing well and getting back on track!
  13. My surgery date is September 10 too! I'm sure your doctor would postpone it for you though. Our bodies don't heal as well when we are stressed, so if this date stresses you out, it's better to move it. Good luck and let us know how it goes with your insurance!
  14. I had to switch doctors after completing my 6 months of weight management and I was worried about my BMI being too low (38-39) since I was 40-41 when I started this journey. It was this summer mind you, but I wore the heaviest jeans I owned, a cardigan sweater over my shirt (hey it's cold in the office with A/C), jewelry (again my heaviest Brighton necklace and charm bracelet), and I put my iPhone in my pocket. I also ate and drank just before I went in. It was enough to get me to 40 without gaining the weight back. My surgery is September 10. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  15. I did exactly the same thing. I showed her I had done extensive research, had been attending support groups, and fully understood what I am doing and what I will need to do. I also was very clear about my triggers and what I know my challenges will be to overcome them. We can all lose weight; been doing it for years. For me, WLS is one tool I need to help keep it off. BTW, I'm still pre-op. My surgery date is September 10.
  16. I had a great experience for my psych eval. The purpose is not to fail you, but to make sure you are of sound mind to make this life altering decision, and that you understand the risks and how you are supposed to eat and exercise for the rest of your life. They know we all have issues, so don't try to cover them up. Just be honest and you will be fine! Let us know how it goes.
  17. I'm in So Cal (Temecula), but my surgery will be in San Diego on September 10.
  18. You're awesome! Keep up the great work!
  19. Congrats!! Glad to hear you are doing well.
  20. A sample pack sounds like the way to go. A couple of websites offer them. I also want to try the chicken soup. Several people I've spoken with bad trouble with sweet drinks after surgery, so I want to be prepared. I also heard the unflavored one is good for afterwards becuse you can add it to any soft foods for added protein. My next challenge is giving up caffeine. I kicked the soda habit cold turkey many months ago and I've temporarily given up coffee when I was pregnant twice. I'm down to a out two cups of 1/2 caff, 1/2 decaf mix, but I like the taste of coffee. I'm hoping to get a protein shake that tastes like coffee without the caffeine. :-)
  21. I start my pre-op diet on August 27. I need to figure out what protein supplements I want to buy, but haven't had time. My doctor recommends Bariatric Advantage.
  22. Great news! Congratulations!!
