  1. Have u seen a nutritionist? Maybe they will have good ideas to help. I am really sorry u are going through this.
  2. Try and think of it this way if they put u on these meds before surgery you would have gained the 50 on top of what u weight before surgery!!! I know you prob wanna snack me!!! Try and hang in there. I won't have surgery till dec!! I will say prayers for you!!
  3. Wow fantastic!!! Such an inspiration!!!
  4. I have to say I see everyone's side of this issue!!! At first this thread started to scare the hell out of me and I got somewhat discouraged about doing this surgery thinking what's the use if you can get around it BUT then it really made me think about why I'm doing this and it is a tool to help not a cure all. If anything it taught me that I need to be really mentally healthy to do this and have already dealt with your over eating issues. If you haven't it's going to be a much harder process. Like any other weight loss program u gotta work it
  5. I am totally with you on hiding it!!! I did tell a few but others will be told something diff. You see I have been with the co for 28 years and everyone knows me. They have seen me loose and gain weight all these years. I know there are some judgmental folks in the crowd and would just be waiting and expecting me to fail. I have had gastritis badly about 2 mths ago and most think I have intestinal issues. That's my cover for now. When I am ready they will know the real truth. Good luck and do what you have to which will get you through surgery without stress. Good luck!!!
  6. My surgery is in dec but what I have read and know from others every dr is diff and I am finding through posts that pre-op diets also depend on surgeon, ins requirements, your BMI etc. the object is to shrink your liver and loose a little weight. Relax and don't worry too much. I am finding the more you read the worse we get. Just follow the 5 days diligently and just know what is expected after which is the tiny bites etc. one day, one week one sec at a time. Congrats and good luck.
  7. Wow such an inspiration!!!! Good luck!!!
  8. That's good so excited for you!!! We will be side by side!!!
  9. I am with you. Mine is Dec 6 but we are all doing this for a healthier better life!!! I will pray and wish you the best. How are u doing with the all liquid. That scares me more and I find myself now wanting to eat everything because I know I can't after or at least for a long time.

  11. No I am going to a surgeon here in the states. He did my husbands gastric bypass 10 years ago and removed my Gallbladder a few years ago.
  12. Wow I am so sorry!!! What has your dr said the reason for all the issues?
  13. Congrats Jenny!!!! Hope your feeling good and continue to do so. I have mine on Dec 6.
  14. I usually get mine at Wal-Mart here in the states. They say refrigerated probiotics are better but if they are not in my pull thing I forget to take them. I have been taking a brand called Ultimate Flora big pic of sunshine on box!!
  15. Have you tried a probiotic that seems to help me!!! I am paying out of pocket so I am not forced to see a nutritionist so kinda on my own until two weeks before. Surgeon's office said I could start the 2 week diet now which is 5 protein shakes a day and one green meal (4-6 oz lean protein and 2 cups veggies).
  16. That's fantastic Tracy!!!!!! I am in ft lauderdale, Fl. I have IBS and also think that's the issue. Keep your head high and keep telling yourself you don't need the beef. Have some beef broth and see if that helps your craving.
  17. Wow just one a day most end up with nothing but shakes for 2 weeks before surgery. When is your surgery? I am now trying all diff shakes to see what might work. I might have found taking a probiotic helps. Nice to meet you.
  18. Well I am new to all this and will have surgery dec 6 and love hearing the bad with the good. I needed to hear this because it really makes me realize (even though I knew it) it's not a cure all!! Like before the surgeries you work it for it to work. It is also making me realize it not all perfect!! Thank you!!!
  19. Sorry if my writing seems off I am doing voice texting. I'm wondering if my issue is the premade shakes. I just tried a packet of WHY protein in 8 ounces of my unsweetened soymilk. Didn't taste bad at all will see if my stomach can handle it and I and up running to the bathroom later. If not then maybe the powder is the way to go. I have tried the drink inshore and that seems to work for me.
  20. thanks so much for the advice it is greatly appreciated. I went to the place I looked at soy protein powder and the only reason why I stayed away from it was the sugar was twice as high as the way protein. And that concerns me. My issue now is I am really trying to watch what I'm eating and trying all these different type of protein shakes and I feel like I'm all of a sudden gaining weight. It's strange
  21. Wow fantastic!!!
  22. Hi I am new to this also!! Surgery date Dec 6 13!!! Finding issues with pre made protein shakes making me sick!!! So excited u are doing well!!
