A month from today is my surgery. So excited. I wish it was today lol

Ok I just finished my psych evaluation. It wasn't bad at all. It literally took 15min.. I only have the nutritionist appointment left. Woohoo

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great thanksgiving. I have to say, I am thankful for this site because I have learned so much throughout this journey and couldn't have done it without you all. So today I have to do an MRI since my cardiologist is having me do thousands of tests before she clears me. Grrr. (Had coarctation of aorta 13yrs ago) which is at 2:45. Not nervous at all. Then.... My psych evaluation is today at 5:30. I am really really nervous about it. What should I expect? How long does it take? Any input will be very helpful. I couldn't sleep all night thinking about it.

Maybe I should do the 3 day diet too. My sister had the same doctor and she didn't have to do it either.

No one should be scared. I had my first heart surgery when I was 11 and I woke up from anesthesia then had my second surgery when I was 18 and again I woke up from anesthesia. We can't change our destiny. We all want this badly, then we shouldn't think negative. I am not scared at all. Any if anyone who changes their mind I'll take your date since mine is on December 30 lol. But all seriously, this will change for the better and we know it. Obviously there will be bump on the road but just imagine how we will feel during the summer ... We will be glad we did this.

Yayyyyyy. I have tears now. I am going to pray really hard. I really want this so badly. Like my doctor tried to say I don't even look bad? Like really? I'm a size 14. Nothing good about that. Plus I don't want to get diabetes or a heart attack

Omg you just made my night because I don't have any problems like sleep apnea or whatever else they look for. My cardiologist said the same thing to me and I'm like eff u well I didn't actually say that to her but still. Now I feel more confident. Was this year right?

Hi everyone, I was told to join this thread but I have no idea how. Anyways, my surgery is scheduled for December 30. Way to start the new year right? My new year resolution is about to come true after 6yrs woohoo. Anyways, I am a little worried because my doctor said in in border line since my BMI is 37. He said my primary doctor has to really write a good letter. Supposedly he already faxed the letter to my surgeons office. Next week I have 4 appointments. My nutritionist appointment, pre surgery class, MRA on Friday (my cardiologist requested since I had heart surgery few years ago) she does not support me on this surgery what's so ever. She's only my doctor not my mom. She better clear me on December 11 lol. And I also have my psych evaluation on Friday. Hopefully after thanksgiving weekend they will submit my paper work to the insurance (BCBS-nj) any one has that insurance? What was the wait? Do they easily deny people? I can't wait until December 30. I who it was tomorrow lol.

Omg yes, I meant 12-30-13 lol silly me.. It took me forever to conceive my cardiologist (had coarctation of aorta surgery in 2000) and she's making me do all these tests. I know she's being careful but I am fine. Can't wait to get my clearance. yay congrats to you too

Surgery 10-30-13 OMG I hope I get approved by my insurance. Getting so nervous since my BMI is 37. Please pray for me!!! I cannot wait until that day!!!!

Does anyone know if hbcb of nj Advantage epo covers the sleeve and what are their requirements?????? How long to get approved?
