  2. WOw it has been 7 weeks . I don't regret the decision and learning so much about my new stomach. I have am sticking to the plan , I don't eat bread , Pasta , sugar or bad carbs . I eat mostly Protein and try and get in some mixed veggies at dinner . I need to drink more Water , most days it's max 64 oz, but that is really working it ! Calories on average 600-900 a day , Exercising strenuous 30 min 3 x a week , I am a loose size 18 down from size 22 , lost 33 pounds and feel great . So why do I feel like everyone else seems to be losing weight faster then me ? I thought 20 ponds a month is something I could expect if I stuck with the program ? Maybe I am living in lala land but dang it I want faster results I am curious to know what everyone's current loss is and if it meets their expectations . Thanks guys ! Anyone interested in me setting up a Facebook group of August sleevers? That way we can share recipes , highs and lows in a quicker way then searching on this forum .
  3. You are full because you still have swelling in your stomach , when you move past this stage you will see that you drink and them 30 min - an hour you are hungry again
  4. Me too !!! When I am full I start sneezing sometimes 6-10 times! Can be embarrassing .
  5. So glad I am not crazy . Eggs are weird too , more fish and beef for me .
  6. I Am 5 weeks out and doing great , down 27 pounds . I am learning to eat and doing well except for chicken and turkey . White meat , dark meat , baked , stewed , with sauce without sauce it doesn't matter . 2-3 bites and foaming and gagging and then I throw it up . Anyone else have this ? I can tolerate beef and even steak , chicken or turkey - nope .
  7. The spleen was bumped during surgery . Caused a blood clot in the spleen . The body is absorbing it and it is almost gone . I have had a fever in about 5 days so I believe I have beat it !

  9. So a week after surgery I developed this strange low grade fever, after lots of blood work and CAT scans they determined I have a splenic hematoma. Has anyone else had this? [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:10693]
  10. I find myself.. heading for the peanut butter! I know I shouldn't eat it but I rationalize it is protein. I am so getting sick of yogurt and cheese. Need some different choices.
  11. I think the journey started many years ago but, insurance wouldn't cover it. So when our company was purchased by a BIG company we now have fantastic insurance! So the surgery was covered! My surgery was on August 30, 2013 and I am now feeling good but I did have some complications that slowed down my getting back on my feet sooner. I got pneumonia (which I had had 6 months ago and had a feeling I might see that again after surgery) and a blood clot in my spleen. My body and antibiotics did its thing and pneumonia is gone and blood clot is almost gone. I had one readmit to the hospital for the "issues" but week 3 I am feeling good and back to work. Here is a brief video I did today to tell my story.. thought I would share here as well. Allison's Journey [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:10693]
  12. I am 3 weeks Post Op and this week has been "odd" with food. First I don't feel hungry until about 9:00-10:00 pm at night.. and realize I have hardly had anything to eat. BAD BAD, I am trying to keep that Protein up through the day. I have never been a snacker and 3 meals a day but this is not the way to eat with a sleeve. I find I need those small Snacks in the middle of the day to keep the protein up and the late night hunger away. I have been keeping track of my food through "myfitnesspal" app. This seems to be very helpful to determine if I have had enough food and enough protein. I am having problems with chicken though.. not sure why. It doesn't matter if it is moist, chicken salad, chicken and dumplings, dark meat or white.. I take a couple of bites.. and it comes back up. Has this happened to anyone else? Love this group! [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:10693]
