  1. Read post recently posted,.. States that will cover baractric surgery with obamacare..posted by bobheist 40 min ago.
  2. Remember your surgery weight is lower than most who post on the wls board.. So you should not expect your body to lose as fast as others. Sometimes slow and sure wins the race. One good suggestion...only weigh at dr office or once a month.
  3. Good for you.keep up the great work..

  9. Maybe most of us should work on fixing our minds than doing this drastic surgery. Thanks for being so honest about the sleeve and feeling no restriction. I always wondered if this may be an issue. And u confirmed, it is. So why have the surgery if restriction goes away. You have help me decide not to go through with the gastric sleeve. .. This surgery has no guarantees enough to change my body that drastic for lifetime. I know of many people gain back their weight along the road.
  10. Call your doc for anti nausea meds. Chewing gum puts air in your stomach which can cause gas pain..my nurse said no gum chewing.

  20. Do you have a nutritionist that gave u guidelines fot the phases u r going through. The weight management program where I am having my surgery gave me details on have much to eat and what to eat through each step. The last step..phase i5 (eating for lifetime)....I will eat 4 of food oz, 3 meals a day.. 2 oz of protein each meal. The rest of oz of veggie, whole grains, etc., then 1 protein snack..my total protein per day should be at least 60.. Do u have a nutritionist to help u out.. It would help u out. I'm 5 feet 1 inch.. If u are taller, then you have to consume closer to 80 grams of protein per day.

  22. From what I have read on the wls website...taking pics of yourself along your journey would help the perception of yourself. Also, lay down and trace your body on a roll of paper..
  23. Thanks all for your encouragement..that is so nice of you all to reply..
  24. Ps she suggested cut food into peas size..chew..and eat protein first before anything else. I am to eat 1.5 oz of meat at each meal..please a high protein snack such as Greek yogurt, protein drink etc,,1/4 to 1/2 cup for snack.
  25. Make sure when u eat spinach to cut it up in small pieces.. Spinach is quite stringy and I read somewhere that it can cause issues if you don't cut it up..as far as variety after 4 weeks, the hospital gave me binder for the phases that I will be going through..here is what they suggest.. Fresh firt, all cooked veggies, bran or whole grain cereal, whole grain rice and pasta, cooked legumes, beans and peas, shellfish and all meats u can tolerate. All foods that u had on your soft diet. Once I have my surgery, my stage 5 lifetime eating ,the Nut said to have 4 oz of food, 3 times a day, plus one protein snack. I am female, 5 feet one inch..so I am on the lower scale to eat only 4 ounces per meal. And 64 oz of water, not same time as meals. Hopefully this helps.
