  1. It is crazy! It's one of my biggest problems too. Ugh.
  2. I only threw up when I cheated. I experienced dumping syndrome when I cheated also, an sometimes by eating something that had a lot of fake sugar. But really and truly, I was blessed to have a rather simple and straightforward recovery.
  3. I have to fix my check in weight for today! Sorry if TMI lol, but I just used the bathroom for the first time in DAYS, and got back on the scale to find that I am 183.0! Yay! Lol I was shocked lol. Merry Christmas everyone :-D
  4. Yep, I'm definitely not reaching my goal for New Years. Checking in at 184.2. There's no way I'm losing 4 lbs in a week. That hasn't happened to me since the first weeks after surgery. :-/ oh well...
  5. I lose about 1.5 to 2 lbs a week. I hope it doesn't slow down-- at least not too much! Lol.
  6. Best of luck to you in accomplishing your resolutions! As for me, i am totally with you: I want it to be the last time I am adding "losing weight" as a resolution! Yes!!! I am also taking the resolution to exercise more; I have been slacking :-( And, unrelated to weight loss, I am taking the resolution to start saving more money so I can start planning my dream Europe tour :-)
  7. I find that gaining now (with the sleeve) gets me way more depressed than gaining before the sleeve. :-/
  8. Then we should both be discouraged together! My surgery weight and current weight are similar to yours. Sw: 224 cw: 186 So I lost just about 4 to 5lbs more than you, but we're in the same boat! I realized that a lot of people who are losing way more than that have way more to lose. Look at it this way: at least we are losing! And my gaining! The other day, I was thinking about my diets and realized that if I hadn't done the surgery, I probably would have said goodbye to my "diet" on thanksgiving, the day after thanksgiving, the three or four times my mom had a big dinner with people over and amazing Desserts and pastas and everything I shouldn't eat. I realized that through these last 2 to 3 months, I probably would have lost a few pounds and gained more. I realized I probably would have re-started my diet at least a dozen times! WHEREAS now, I did deviate a few times, but never got completely off track and kept losing. All of this to say, don't be discouraged. I want to be discouraged too sometimes, but I think about these things and try not to be. I am traumatized with weight and diet, everyday I wake up thinking "this is it! I probably haven't lost any weight, I've hit the lowest I will hit! And I'll never reach my goal!" I can't help thinking like that, but even when I see that I lost 0.2 ounces, ill be ok with that lol. Hang in there!
  9. Omg omg, another one! I want to be able to cross my legs without any effort!!!
  10. Yes, but my surgeon won't do it self pay unless she has a higher BMI than 30. Maybe Mexico would?
  11. Thanks. It seems we understand we each other. :-( and I'm sorry to hear that.
  12. Thank you. We did speak to my surgeon together. But you are right, she feels stuck, and hopeless. Though I will continue to try and cheer her on and support her... It's just not easy. :-/
  13. Thanks but... We are both good addicts (well, recovering for me). And, not that I want to assume anything about you and your struggles and why you chose this surgery, but it isn't as simple as that for addicts such as ourselves. She has done the diet and exercise, but reaches a crashing point, and then do it all over again. Try all over again. Also, she did try to follow my diet. But when I eat one piece of low calorie toast and cheese, she will still be hungry, physically and mentally, and eat more of that. Then, instead of packing on 90 calories, it goes into the hundreds. Etc. this is just an example though. Oh, and this is just something extra I want to add, but my mom thinks she has the biggest stomach on this planet! Lol.
  14. Hi Guys, what I'm about to say has been going on since my surgery, but has gotten worse, and keeps getting worse! My mother and I have been struggling with our weights for as long as I can remember. However, the difference between us is that I have a worse metabolism than she does, I have pcos, arthritis, insulin resistance. Whereas, she does not have those problems and has a great metabolism, BUT she does have horrible blood circulation, she has a valve in her heart that is very unstable. Because of my issues, I eventually became obese, with a BMI of 40 (highest). But my mother has been struggling with weight, but at her highest weight, had a BMI of 30. Nowadays, her BMI is 29.89 or something like that. Borderline overweight basically. But honestly, looking at her, her body was not made to withstand so much weight. Her legs and feet get swollen, she gets palpitations, she feels and seems as uncomfortable in her body as I did with a BMI of 40. She is the one who told me to look into the sleeve and offered to pay for half of it for me, because I was going down a dangerous road and needed o do something with myself. So I really have her to thank for being healthier today, for having my life back. NOW, here is the problem: since having the surgery, she has watched me get control o my life again, lose weight, look better, feel better, and even, for the first time in my life, being able to resist to some foods I wouldn't before. She is so proud of me, so happy for me. But it has been destroying her. She has concluded that she will never be able to lose weight and keep it off unless she also has the surgery. But guess what? No doctors want to do it for her. Because her BMI is less than 30, they either say it is not worth it, she needs to just diet and exercise more, or simply that she just isn't a candidate. She did confess to me that she feels like a pig for wanting the surgery when she has 40 lbs to lose, when other people need it more than she does. However, she is miserable now, and has given up on dieting. And let me tell you, we were experts in yoyo dieting. She'll lose 10lbs, gain 20. Than lose 20, gain back 10, and lose 5, gain 15. I mean, all over the place. And frankly, I'm scared for her health. So she is scaring me. I feel like she's going to die of a heart attack. Like I said, though she is not technically in the obese category, her body seems to react as if she was. She has heard over and over to just diet and exercise. She has tried, but fails every time, then gets depressed and falls and stays within that vicious cycle many of us had been stuck in. I don't know how else to help her but to just keep trying to cheer her on, and tell her she can do it. But she just does not believe that she can do it without the surgery anymore. Especially havin me around succeeding with it. :-(
  15. Thank you so much!!! I will most definitely look at it :-)
  16. Lol, nice :-) Oh and by the way, i have NO IDEA where that "hair removal" came from in my post hahahaha. I meant to say hair! Lol. Freakin autocorrect.
  17. I was gonna say the same thing when I saw the pics, JessicaAnn! You have beautifullllllllll hair Evolving! Oh, and congrats on the progress! Looking good! But your hair removal, my god lol. What do you do to it? :-D
  18. Sorry, not me. But it's weird that it's your left shoulder. For the past 2 weeks, I've been having pain in my left shoulder, like I dislocated it, but not quite as bad as that. It's very annoying and hurts when I sleep, when I'm active, any movement I make with my left arm. :-( I'm thinking of going to see a chiropractor if it persists.
  19. Thank you. I hope I continue to lose. I'm complaining about 2lbs a week, but I'd much ether that than not losing at all. Today, I am 186.2
  20. As far as being burps, OH YEAH! Big time. I still do today... But I don't really get that feeling like food is dancing around an hour later... But if it is just annoying but isn't uncomfortable, than I wouldn't worry about it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :-/
  21. According to what I've been told, it sure does sound right! But at 3 weeks, other than the post I made about eating pizza and pasta (do NOT try this at home! I'm a food addict, I didn't resist, and paid the price afterwards)-- anyway, other than that slip up, I was eating 40 to 60 g of protein a day, but my doctor told me that if I could increase, then to do just that! I was having Greek yogurt, and babybel cheese. As well as protein shakes and some string cheese.
  22. Wow! Great job!!!! You look hot! :-)
  23. My own version of a taco. I was craving taco. Some sun chips, lean ground beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese. I only ate about 1/4 of the chips though.
  24. I don't think I'm gonna reach my goal :-( I don't seem to be able to lose more than 2lbs a week lately...
