Batiatric Advantage shakes make me sick :(
No, I'm in Oklahoma. Bariatric Advantage shakes are what my Dr office uses but we don't HAVE to use them. Especially if they make us so sick.

Batiatric Advantage shakes make me sick :(
They did the exact same thing to me. After trying several others my nut told me to try premier ready-to-drink and I use those. Yum

The Last Supper...
Finishing up day 7. I've not really had a problem except for a headache the first couple days. I'm getting lots of protein and low, low carbs so no hunger. You can do this!!!!

Flavor infused broths
K, so Swanson has these flavor infused broths that are so delicious. If you're tired of regular broths and need a pop then I highly suggest these. The tortilla and hot&sour are very spicy, so you may want to cut them with regular beef or chicken broth. I haven't tried the ginger yet. Adding Protein powder wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but definitely doable.

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Just remember, it's normal to get the last minute jitters. This is a major surgery and is life changing. Just gently remind your wife and yourself WHY you are doing this surgery and the wonderful outcome. Good luck, we'll be here cheering you on. April

psychology evaluation today!
I did not have a questionnaire. It was more just a one-on-one talk. She wanted to make sure my expectations were realistic, that my bipolar disorder was stable and that I was informed about everything that happens.

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Hi Chandler! I'm not in high school, but I am going in for my surgery next Tuesday. I'm excited with a little bit of "scared" thrown in there. This is a great support group. If you're looking to talk with just your own age group there is an age-specific forum. I do believe it's under "Gastric sleeve surgery support" Then "age-specific gastric sleeve". But you are more than welcome to post here and we'll offer you as much support as you can believe!! Lol There are several of is that are next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and we just try and talk to one another and support one another the best we can along with everyone else.

February/March 2014 sleevers
I've never had hot & sour soup before so I'm not gonna know. But I know it's gotta be more flavorful than plain broth. Thank God Ken is a chef Bc I have so many seasonings it's an entire cabinet full so I can doctor them up if need be.

February/March 2014 sleevers
I just got them at walmart. I overlooked them at first but the second time I went I saw them. The tortilla is really good. Very spicy. My sister and I cut it with regular chicken broth.

I've had the Mexican tortilla soup broth and it's good. Spicy goodness. I was gonna eat the Asian hot n sour broth but ended up at my sister's house to watch TWD. I'll try it tomorrow and give u my take on it.

Freaking out
Regarding complications, talk to RJ's/Beginning. She was even in a coma. But.... Even through all of her complications, and they were many, she still says she'd have gotten sleeved. Complications can happen with any surgery and the sad fact of the matter is you will hear more from people with complications than those that do well sometimes in small groups. You know why? People get sleeved, do great and then stop updating. But people with complications seek support, which is exactly what we are here to give them. In small groups most people like to let others know when they are having a problem, while everyone that isn't just doesn't post every day "everything went textbook great today". The chance of a complication is very slim. But yes, they can happen. It's a chance I'm willing to take. I have severe spinal stenosis, schmorl's nodes and my left foot and leg goes numb with pain on a regular basis. I have high bp and sleep apnea. I KNOW I cannot live this way and am getting the sleeve Bc it is the tool that will help me change the way I fuel my body. By doing it right I'll lose weight. By losing weight I could be rid of bp meds and a CPAP as well as ease my constant pain. This is scary, and most people say that for a couple of weeks after surgery they suffer buyer's remorse, but in the end it's the best thing they've ever done for themselves April

Exactly!!! And I keep checking and double checking my hospital list like I'm insane. I still have 9 days but you'd think it was tomorrow by my mental state. Lol

February/March 2014 sleevers
As I look back it does seem that the past 6 days on pre-op has flown, but my days themselves seem to last forever. From the moment I wake up til I'm trying to fall asleep. Time drags for me. I can't find enough to do in the day to make time pass
