  1. Thinking of you hang in there, get lots of advice and do what's right for you
  2. I have an appointment with my sleeve surgeon end of next month and it is on my list to discuss because I contacted my medical insurers and they said it could be covered if it was considered for medical reasons and not cosmetic, so fingers crossed he agrees and refers me.
  3. Yes Bangkok is an option as a last resort. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for surgeons there
  4. The quote was for full body, Breast, legs, arms and neck. It was quoted as 3 separate surgery's 2 at a time with the neck seperate
  5. My words were much more colourful and the look on my husbands face was priceless
  6. I'm 18months out now and have been stable for the last 6 months. Now it's time to find a Plastic Surgeon to have the excess skin removed. Can anyone recommend a good Plastic Surgeon in either Brisbane or Sydney. Im happy to travel to either state, my first quote here has been over 130k which is not going to happen. Also need information on claiming some of the procedures through Aus Medical insurance specifically Medibank Private. If anyone has any info please share
  7. My husband and I did the surgery together on the same day. So I can definitely say keep him as involved as you can because it will make life so much easier if you are both on the same page and can discuss any issues that may come up.
  8. Misty good to hear things are ok so far. I remember the problems you had before so fingers crossed you sail through this time. Take care
  9. Unfortunately no real remedies for getting rid of the skin except PS. I went for an appointment with a surgeon yesterday. Not great, for tummy, breast arms and possible neck/lower face 130k and that's without legs. Crazy back to the drawing board
  10. Hi you should probably start with a Multi Vitamin I was told to use the Swiss women's Multi. After you have blood test's the dietitian will advise you what else you need to take if anything. Good Luck
  11. Hoping we can here from more of the October 2013 people. We would love to hear how your going and what is and isn't working
  12. Misty it is so good that you are back on the site. Although I feel for you in regards to the issues you are experiencing. I often wondered how you were doing. Please keep us updated on your progress
  13. I will have to check to see if they deliver to my country
  14. If your worried about blood clots talk to your surgeon or co-ordination about blood thinners before you start your travel from home
  15. Caffeine doesn't seem to of effected me any differently than before opp. Just remember to add extra fluids caffeine can dehydrate you if your not getting enough fluid. I have a Nesspresso machine (reasonable priced) and the capsules for that are great tasting. Coffee will always give you a boost I don't think I could live without it and my surgeon and nutritionist don't have an issue with it.
  16. I don't think she logs on anymore so fingers crossed she has a moment where she thinks I wonder whatever happened to ? And logs on to find out, I think it will make her laugh to see that we are all wondering where she is
  17. Dr Locke at Everton Park Brisbane
  18. I will be 20 months out in June and plan on getting full body lift. ( legs, bum, stomach, boobs and arms ) maybe neck not sure. I am only just starting my research now, has anyone had this much work done and if so what sort of time period. I don't like pain so I would love to have as much as possible done at the same time followed closely by anything that wasn't done the first time round because I'm scared if it hurts to much I won't get the rest done. Anyone had a similar experience?
  19. Hi just checking in to see how your going ?
  20. Be careful taking the Biotin as I have heard that it didn't help with head hair loss but seemed to increase body hair. The 2 most important things that I can suggest is for after the opp, plenty of protein and plenty of fluid. They will be the 2 things that will give you energy to keep moving forward in the first few weeks. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. Good Luck
  21. Yeah just a quick one to see if she was OK. No answer so just wondering if anyone else had heard from her
  22. You have to find a way to get protein in or you will never feel full. That is the least of your problems if your not getting enough protein you are going to suffer medically
  23. Has anyone heard from Rev's ? Just wondering how she is going. I remember reading she had some major changes in her personal life then nothing. When times were tough you could rely on Rev's to have something to say that put things back into perspective. Hope she is doing well
  24. Hi I know it's early days just wanted to check in and see how your going ? Truth I want to make sure you went through with itHaha ausmith it's almost like you know me too well. Job's done. Lost 6.7kg in my pre-op, almost got cancelled as I was chewing gum during my fast on Wednesday morning, but as Dr Nolan keeps telling me "I took a lot of stomach out of you". Back at my hotel room since this morning and doing pretty well. That's fantastic ! I'm so happy for you I'm almost 18mths ahead of you but I remember going through the up's and downs with you while reading about the war you were going through with yourself. Then when you decided not to get it I was so sad for you. Then as I started to lose I kept thinking if only you could have seen the new you at that time there would have been no delay. Good Luck, stick to the rules and drop in here for support still a lot of work to go but you can definitely do this.
