  1. Am a little discouraged - was sleeved on 10/28 wt 238 and after 5 months have only lost 34 pounds - Had a f/u with my surgeon last week who thought I should have lost about 50 by now....I am glad I've had the surgery and am making progress in the right direction - I feel better but was hoping to have seen more weight loss. Makes me wonder if I am destined to be overweight or if it will take me years to get this weight off. I am lucky if I can lose 4 pounds in a month (sigh...)
  2. SW 245 CW 220 I lose in stair steps slow but steady Sleeved October 28
  3. I am almost 4 weeks out and find the same thing. I try using proti fruit drinks (sort of like crystal light but with protein). I like the concentrate better than the packets cause the packets can get gritty. The concentrate is a bit sweet so I mix one to 16 oz of water - gives you 15g of protein. you can buy from amazon.
  4. I am 3.5 weeks out as well. Able to eat all types of mushy foods - cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, yogurt, applesauce, etc. Have tried a few bites of meat - had some lamb yesterday that I had boiled to make broth for something I was cooking this weekend and I tolerated it really well. I am using NowSports Whey Protein Isolate unflavored to add to get additional protein - I am supposed to have 90g per day. I buy it on Amazon - has 25g protein in a scoop. I found it hard to get in all the protein with as little as we can eat so I have to have a couple of protein shakes during the day to get it all in. Have hit a couple of plateau's already so have to practice much patience and it finally breaks - remember to drink your liquids.
  5. I am really glad to see this posting also. Was doing really well after surgery on 10/28 and now have hit a wall. Have not lost anything for last few days so appreciate all the great thoughts here. Like someone else said, did not do this for 12 lbs so will have to be patient. Went to my first dinner party last night - brought my protein shake while everyone else ate. I put it in a wine glass and after dinner conversation started - it was not an issue. I don't get hungry so was not a problem to watch everyone else eating what smelled like a delicious meal. One step at a time is my mantra.
  6. I was sleeved on 10/28 and am down 12.2 from post op. losing about a pound a day. Woke up today without much pain. Luckily have been able to sleep in my bed since I got home. Have been able to get by with mostly Tylenol. Am able to take in fluids and do some walking. Am looking forward to things getting even better.
  7. My surgery is on the 28th. Started 2weeks protein shakes on Monday. Yesterday had headaches and the shakes which I presume was from carb and caffeine withdrawal. Was much better today and hoping tomorrow will be even better. I know what you mean about being ready to move to that next step. Good luck!
  8. Trying to figure out if it would be helpful to concentrate on building ab strength before my surgery at end of October. Was hoping it might help with faster recovery. Any experience or thoughts on this?
  9. Scheduled for Octrober 28 in Hampton Roads, VA
