1. Has anyone experienced a plateau in their weight loss? I'm afraid I am right now How to get past it?
2. I've had fills every 6 weeks and after every fill I've felt restriction but after my last fill, I've had no restriction at all. This makes no sense to me and I'm not sure what to do. I need advice
3. Hello everyone! I was banded a little over a year ago in New Orleans, LA. I'm moving to Mobile in about 2 weeks to start my first year of college! Does anyone know of a good doctor to go to for my fills? Thanks!
4. I’ve tried a lot of new foods and I can handle everything. I have no restriction. Is this somewhat normal? I’ve kind of experimented with different foods and some solids. Nothing REALLY bad like steak or chicken or anything. Is something wrong with me? And my back hurts when I inhale…I’m really worried…I went to the doctor for my post-op appointment and asked about the band slipping and she said “I don’t care what you eat, I’m just focused on you healing”…UGH. I should have stuck to the diet and I wouldn’t have to worry. I feel so weak… and stupid.
5. I'm 6 days post-op and currently on the thick liquid stage (yogurt, smoothies, creamy soups) and anytime I eat anything I worry that I'm going to cause my band to slip. It's ridiculous. I had a bite of banana pudding earlier and afterwards I worried even though the consistancy of the pudding is almost the same as yogurt. My post-op appointment is tomorrow but until then I just need reassurance that I'm doing okay. I've cheated, but not on solid foods, just other foods that are basically the same consistancy as yogurt and pudding, maybe a tad thicker. Is this okay? Help!!
6. Grats! I was banded 4 days ago as well! I hope your gas pains get better!
7. AH! There were tiny tiny chunks of broccoli in the soup. fdkafjafja
8. I'm 4 days post-op and my doctor allows creamy soups on the 4th day...so I whipped up some Bear Creek Broccoli and Cheese soup and had some today along with water/V-8 fruit juice. Even though my doctor allows it already, am I moving too fast? I'm worried that I'll make my band slip or something. What exactly WILL make the band slip? I'm so worried that I'll do something wrong and mess something up :help:
9. 4 Days post-op is it too soon for Bear Creek brocolli and cheese soup? I'm so worried about eating the wrong thing and having my band slip. Can someone give me advice on the right and wrong things to do? I know I need to follow my Doctor's guidelines but he does say at day 4 I'm allowed to have soups and yogurt. Ah someone HELPPP
10. I'm 3 days post-op and I was wondering if it would hurt to sleep on my stomach. Will it mess anything up?
11. Does anyone have any good recipes for the soup/thick liquid stage? I'm starving! Does really mushy chicken salad fall into the mushy stage?
12. Are sugar free ice cream milkshakes okay for the thick liquid phase? What about spicy liquids like gumbo just minus the chicken, rice, Etc?

19. Will they still do surgery?

Say they tell you to lose 10 lbs but you lose 5 or 6 is that good enough? oh yeah, surgery scheduled for 7/11 !!!
20. :help: Ugh, I'm having the HARDEST time with my pre-op diet. I've been cheating a lot... I haven't scheduled my surgery yet but my doctor said I needed to lose 10 lbs at the least and I don't think I've even lost that... Any suggestions on good food to stock up on for the diet? :think
21. I'll be having my surgery in New Orleans by Dr. Lavin... Anyone familiar with him?
22. I'm not sure if there's already a thread for this but I'm only 17 and I thought it would be great if all of us younger bandsters had our own area to talk and discuss the difficulties in being overweight as a teenager in today's society and just anything else.
23. Thank you... You really have no idea how much a few words can cheer me up. Congratulations on your weight loss Eddie! You look terrific Hopefully I'll be as successful as you and the many people on this website.
24. My doctor does... I haven't been trying all THAT hard yet... I'm not sure when my surgery is scheduled for. It's so stressful.
