July sleevers please check in..
Sleeved July 25th. Down 34lbs from morning of surgery! My Dr's plan still has me on puréed food for another week but I noticed that the weight came off faster when I was on full liquids. It's a bit slower now that I am slowly adding new foods (puréed of course!). Feeling good! Starting wt: 240. Current weight 206

Shakes
I drink the premier Protein shakes and they are somewhat tolerable. More then the others I've tried. On another note: I made a shake yesterday. Skim plus, 1/2 banana, tbs Almond butter and a scoop of unflavored protein. It was good except that I felt HORRIBLE afterward. Got the sweats felt nauseous and my stomach hurt. It lasted about 20 minutes. I am 4 weeks out today. What happened??? I've had this shake before and felt ok.... Ugh!

july 2013 sleevers
The same thing happened to me... It's my understanding that the dark urine is from the vitamins and possibly not enough fluids. Small BM's can be caused by, well, not a lot needs to come out since our only taking in small amounts of food or protein shakes. And yes, if your having pain while urinating (minus constipation which can be due to pain meds) call the doc. Hope that helps.

I am also a teacher and soooo happy I had my surgery ove the summer. It took me a good week and a half to two weeks before I felt like I 'could' go to work (even though I'm off for the summer). I was soar and had a lot of left over gas which wa painful. After the second week I was out and about as normal. Hope this helps!- Sleevers by profession.
Great topic!! I am 35 and have been teaching high school special education for 11 years in NY. My second job is a single mom to a 3 1/2 yr old! Yesterday marked two weeks that I was sleeved. Feeling great! Down about 17lbs post-op and getting REALLY bored with my liquid diet. One more week and I'm in to puréed : ). Looking forward to the next chapter.- Has anyone had this problem?
This is most common among children. My daughter had this at 3yrs old. I was told it is a medical emergency. She required an air enema to release the small intestine. I was also informed that yhe sooner a procedure can be preformed the less likely it will return. I hope all goes well and you are back on the road to recovery soon!- Hours away, but why

Hang in.... I was sleeved on 7-25. Felt awful for the first 4 days or so. Now.... It's a whole different story!!! I feel great. Down almost 20lbs, happy and beginning my journey toward a healthier and skinnier 'me'. Keep thinking about the future. There's lots of good stuff coming your way!! Best if luck : )- July 2013 Sleevers
Hi! I was sleeved on the 25th and still on liquids... You mentioned that your 'sleeve' liked certain things and not others. What do you mean? How did you feel when it didn't like something? Not quite sure what to expect when I eventually move into puréed foods in about a week...- July 2013 sleevers
The heating pad did wonders for me as well. Had terrible gas pains... Even moved to my back shoulder! They are gone now thank goodness but my lower left incision has been bothering me. I get a pulling sensation with a sharp pain Hope it lets up soon.... Happens more after I go for a walk.- Ummmm Q about... Sex
A little embarrassing to ask but how long did you all wait to have intercourse after surgery?? Sorry if its TMI but I didn't ask (???????) I'm 7 days out...- Surgeon talked more about lap band!
- Isopure drinks
I found a protein drink I actually 'like'! A whole new world... Chike coffe protein powder shakes. (20gms) I mixed with Skim Plus and it wasn't bad at all. Next time ill add a little chocolate isopure powder for some added protein.- Need some encouragment

My nut listed mashed potatoes as 'ok' in the puréed phase (thinned with skim milk). Seems, as I've been reading, each one has their own set of instructions. Good luck!!- July 2013 Sleevers
- Recovery
I am 4 days out. I was in so much pain after surgery from the leftover gass and air. It is subsiding now and comes and goes less frequently than before. I am exhausted but I'm not sleeping well. Partly because I was a tummy sleeper and well, that's obviously not an option right now. I get gas pockets in my upper chest sometimes which keep me up. I have been trying to walk as much as possible to release the gas and it has been helping some. Also the heating pad is working wonders!! Good luck!- Isopure drinks
I am on day 4 post op. bought the Atkins advantage and muscle milk light... Both chocolate flavor. Atkins is ok but hate the muscle milk. Bought the cookies and cream isopure powder but haven't tried it yet. Need some advise... What else should I get?? I am reading about fruity drinks but have no idea about them. Help?!?- Day 3 post op. what do i do?
I am so confused! When do I take the multi vitamin...drink the shakes... Drink water.... Broth.... Anyone come up with a good schedule to fit this all in?- July 2013 Sleevers
- Shampoo for hair loss
I am on day 3 post-op... I have been told that F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner work well along with Garlic shampoo and cond. I have yet to buy though. - Sleevers by profession.
