  1. I'm in Lake Charles. Was sleeved 10/14/13 & was self pay too. I used Dr. Gachassin in Lafayette, he is AMAZING!
  2. I also suffer from severe migraines. The biggest reason I'm having this done is to get the weight off to hopefully get rid of them. I was diagnosed w/ pseudo tumor cerebri and weight loss is supposed to reverse it. I was told NSAID's would be ok post surgery, I use them as well as many different prescriptions. Hoping to be migraine free soon, best of luck to you too!
  3. Mine is Dr. Gachassin in Lafayette, Louisiana
  4. Who is your surgeon? Mine is Dr. Gachassin
  5. I am too & I'm thinking crawfish boils will be tough!
  6. I was set for Sept. 9 but just got moved to Oct. 14 due to financing issues. I'm ready!!! Not even really nervous now, just want this time to fly by!
  7. I take Pristiq also & really do not want to switch... Do we have to?!? Why can't we swallow pills? It's not that big!
  8. I'm really bummed I was scheduled for Sept. 9 but I'm self pay and had a last minute financing issue so had to move to Oct. 14. Good luck Sept. Sleevers, I look forward to hearing about your progress and seeing your skinny pics!
  9. Rescheduled I'm self pay and had a financing issue, so I had to reschedule to October 14. I'm disappointed but my day will come! Good luck to all of you Sept. sleevers, can't wait to hear about your journeys and see your success!
  10. I'm pre-op, my surgery date is 9/9. I work for a non-profit agency as a case manager with kids who are involved with the juvenile justice system and also have mental illnesses. I'm also a single mom to a 9 yo daughter and was in school working on my Master's in psych, but I'm taking a break from school for surgery, etc.
  11. Lots of stuff but the first few that come to mind are having more energy to play with my daughter, the ability to cross my legs, buying clothes off the racks and not from plus size stores, being in photos... EEEEK!!! I can't wait!
  12. Does anyone know or have a list of all the vitamins we'll need post op? Or is this something our doctor gives us because it may be different for everybody?
  13. I think it went great! Mine was not what I expected, more of a life history & not a lot about food or the surgery at all... Hopefully it's accepted by the surgeon & I'm not delayed!
  14. I'm in the waiting room at my psych eval appt. I'm excited, it means I'm one step closer to surgery!
  15. I do have severe migraines and 3 doctors have told me losing weight will help them get better but, other than that, I have no obesity related illnesses either. Normal blood pressure, no diabetes, nothing... No family history, either. My reason for wanting the surgery is mostly cosmetic, but also as a preventive measure. I've thought long & hard about the risks and weighed my options, but I know I will never be truly happy if I don't get my weight under control. I'm 32 and I have too much life left to live to be miserable!
  16. Awesome! That is very encouraging! I take a TON of meds for mine and I really want to be able to be off of them! Thanks for sharing!
