Periods
I've always had a super regular, set your watch by it period. Once I went in that 1200 calorie diet, that went out the window. No period all summer then on Monday I had surgery and when I started walking around that night, my period started. I had several injections of blood thinners while in the hospital so the period wasnt pretty. Add that to the fact that bending over to insert a tampon was virtually impossible, it's been a pretty miserable week for me on the girly front. I hope to be back to regular periods soon!

Bruised Belly Button
I have a total of 5 incisions, 4 small and one larger one but I don't have any on my belly button. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that must be. Hope you find some relief soon!

Face comparison pics-- half-way there!
I don't have any post op pics yet, still too soon but you can see the weight loss just from the pre op diet in my face already. Pic on the left is me at my highest weight and the one on the right is about 2 weeks before surgery.

Too tight? too short?
I think the top looks great on you! When I got my surgery date I ordered a t shirt that I saw online and since I was feeling optimistic I ordered it in XL, not only XL but a fitted XL. I've never worn a fitted t shirt in my adult life and haven't been an XL since middle school. It came in the mail the other day and when I saw how small it is compared to what I currently wear I couldn't help but wonder WTF was I thinking? I can't wait to post my own too short/too tight picture!

Do therapists work?
- Whos in September? We need some September buddies!
That seems to happen to me if I take a drink that's too big.- September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
I had to list the last solid food and clear liquid that I had prior to surgery. Honest is always the best policy imo.- 1 month monday down 48 lbs
Oh no, my scale calls to me. I hear it say Ella every time I walk into the bathroom! I'm just trying to ignore it because I know once I start, I won't stop.- 1 month monday down 48 lbs
I lost 45 pounds preop (started at 378) and I couldn't see it either, well maybe just a tiny bit in my face but definitely nowhere else. I did feel it in the way my clothing fit though! I had my surgery Monday and gained 13 pounds while I was in the hospital, from all the fluid they pumped into me, I'm assuming. I weighed myself the other day and saw that I had lost that weight and haven't stepped on the scale since. I look at it everytime I go into the bathroom but I don't want to begin the habit of weighing every day and then feeling disappointed when the numbers aren't as low as some I've seen reported here. I just keep telling myself, "this will work" if I follow all the rules and do what I'm supposed to do, I will lose weight.- Seriously?!
Yeah, I hadn't read anywhere that he was diagnosed with it either. I don't know much about this family's culture, but I know there are some cultures in which being fat/very fat is preferable so I wonder if any of that is at play here? No doubt the kid was in for a world of hurt if things kept going as they did, and I'm never one to suggest a kid should be taken away from loving parents but some kind of intervention was definitely needed. I wonder, if the parents had received counseling or training to help them understand the issue at hand?- Seriously?!
Prader-willi syndrome is genetic, and is a result of a malfunctioning hypothalamus which is in the brain, not the stomach. It is treated with drugs and supervised diets, I strongly feel they did this baby more harm than good here.- She's two days on the losers bench - and what has she learnt so far?!
I have a huge bruise on my stomach from where they injected the blood thinners, and I remember telling one of them they need to be sure to cover my ass when I got up to go pee because the gown they gave me didn't go all the way around. Otherwise, I have no memory of the recovery room at all...- Its my 1yr surgiversary!
Wow, you look awesome!- Flu shot
I didn't get one before surgery but before they discharged me, they gave me both a flu and a pneumonia shot.- Home from vsg i dont know how to eat (day 4)
I had surgery on Monday morning and all I can have for the next two weeks is one Protein shake per day, plus Water (Crystal light, unsweetened tea) to get me to at least the 64oz mark. I didn't get anywhere near 64oz of liquid yesterday but today I seem to be doing ok, sitting at about 45oz right now.- first night home from hospital
Last night was my first night home after surgery too! I slept in my bed, but slept sitting up because I just didn't think I could handle laying on my back and since I'm naturally a side sleeper, that couldn't happen! Hope today is a good day for you!- Well, I did it
Yup, I was already doing laps around the nurses station, kept down my Breakfast (2oz of Protein shake) and Water with no nausea and my pain is pretty minimal. He asked me if I wanted to stay another night but I got no sleep last night at all so would just rather sleep in my own bed and monitor my temp/blood pressure myself.- Well, I did it
Being discharged, just waiting for my ride. Will be nice to sleep in my own bed tonight!- Well, I did it
Had my surgery at 9:45 this morning, woke up in the recovery room around 1pm. He took out my gallbladder to which is why it took so long. I've already walked a few times and have been up to pee three times so the nurses seem happy with that. Only ice chips so I'm crazy thirsty and the little heart monitor keeps going of which is getting annoying but the nurse listened to my heart with her stethoscope and she said everything was fine. Pain doesn't seem too bad. I went the first 5 hours in my room before I requested any and I've had more a couple times since then. Burping like a mad woman but nothing yet from the other end,v walking will help that I guess. Gonna try to sleep some more before they come in and wake me up again!- Whos in September? We need some September buddies!
I'm awake in my room. Thirsty as all get out, but nurse says I have to go easy on the ice chips. Pain isn't to bad, gas sucks and ie hurts a bit to take a deep breath - Whos in September? We need some September buddies!
