  1. thank you for your reply!! Super informative!!!! I really appreciate it!!! Now I also hear you have to eat something before and after a work out? Is this true? And is a premier protein shake good enough for the recovery "snack"?
  2. Hi there all! I was sleeved on 9/9/13 and including preop weight loss I have lost a total of 95 lbs. for the past two months all I have been doing for exercise is water aerobics twice a week and walking. But I have noticed the the skin is really starting to sag I want to start toning by lifting weights but I have heard it slows the weight loss. And I am only getting in about 560cal a day all protein(70/80g protein a day) and that is all I can handle while getting in all my water(65-80oz/day). Now my question is this: will I continue to lose weight if I start lifting weights or will my body think I am starving and try to hold on to it?
  3. I am not really exercising yet besides what I do at my job which is home daycare, so lots of running around after children, but not consuming enough calories yet to benefit from actual planned exercise...and I guess that would be my biggest obstacle, I am only getting around 600cal a day and only protein!
  4. Way to go!! That's awesome! I was sleeved 9/9/13...surgery weight 348 current weight 289...I was on a month long pre op diet with my starting weight 384...gotta love the sleeve
  5. I was actually just gonna search for something exactly like this thread! Siiigggghhh you guys ROCK! Losing weight is such an uphill battle that we are fighting everyday! Super frustrating but wouldn't have it any other way. Man do I ever love this thing called the sleeve. As well as this godsend of a forum.....thank you all!
  6. Thank you EVERYONE for your input! So greatly appreciated!
  7. So I am five weeks out, almost 6 on soft foods and soon to be moving on to a normal food diet. Now I know you are not supposed to drink before, during and after meals. But my question is can you drink milk during your meal since it is a protein source? Or is it considered more a fluid?
  8. I am also 10 days post op and my nose is drippy!
  9. I have seen them at Costco and bulk barn too!! ????
  10. I am 7 days in to my pre op diet...atkins induction...I have 1 more week of this and then I go onto a two week 3 protein shake diet with a chicken and salad supper....it is super hard and I feel like poop some days, some days I am soooo hungry, and then others I am rocking it. You gotta pull up your big girl underpants and just do it! It's your life you are doing this for and you have to keep your eye on the prize and remember why you wanted to do this in the first place.
  11. Hi! I am having surgery at the INT hospital on sept 9 and will be staying at Lucerna hotel!!
  12. I am sept 9 with dr. Ponce de Leon! Anyone else?? Or anyone else staying at the lucerna hotel at that time?
  13. I do! Protein shake for every meal starting August 21! And I agree. Totally nervous:(
  14. I totally know what you mean! And it looks like there is a wide gap in the healing time...like some people are ready to giver right after and others have troubles! I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope to be great healers!
  15. I agree...go to mexico! I was referred by my doctor to get it done in manitoba (that's where I am from) and almost 2 years later still waiting to get approved! It is REDICULOUS what we have to go through to get this surgery covered by insurance! So my thinking is, pay the money to go to mexico and get it done in weeks and think of the money you will be saving on food, prescriptions, and clothes when you are sleeved! Not to mention the years you are putting back on your life by not waiting (and getting worse in health if you do wait)
  16. I am from manitoba Canada! Going to Tijuana!!
  17. Has anybody noticed how it is taking forever for September to get here?
  18. That's awesome Chantel! Gives me hope!
  19. Frankenbelly! BWAHAHAHA! That's awesome!! I will remember that!
  20. That totally makes sense! I was just scared poopless that I would gain after! That would SUCK
