  1. Seems my insurance won't approve the surgery due to my surgeon being out of network! I have had to change my primary care physician and I have to wait until August 1st for an appointment to TRY to get a new referral. I was on the phone for hours trying to find a solution ... just about to give up the idea of surgery. I was getting cold feet anyway! Thinking maybe I should try dieting again!
  2. American woman, I'm right up the road from you! I live near 287 & 20. I shop in Mansfield often and I go to the movies there. So we are fellow foodies... I had my "last supper" tonight at Red Lobster. I have been craving scallops and wanted a few before I start shakes tomorrow. I had a beer to celebrate. I know ... but it was a light beer! Probably my last one! I have gradually gotten myself up to 250 pounds from 180 only six years ago. I went from 110 to 180 over the course of 30 plus years that included three pregnancies. I was a little bitty thing ... I'm more than twice the woman I was when I got married! I NEED to lose weight. It's a struggle to carry around all of this extra weight. I was very active 10 years ago ... Camping, hiking, biking, rafting, had a sailboat. Now I can't even hike through the mall! I ride a cart at Walmart and Target. I'm so ready to lose the weight! Good luck to all of you having surgery tomorrow and the rest of the week. Ill be thinking of you!
  3. When she orders my daughter (who has a lap band) just tells them that she's not very hungry. They have always been fine with that explanation. One woman I knew had a laminated card from her doctor that requested that she be allowed to order from a child's menu. I might just make one and ask my doc to sign it.
  4. Hello. My surgery date is July 30th. I start on a week of bariatric advantage on Monday. Today I went to my favorite sushi place. Red Lobster is one of my faves, too. I'm going to miss those biscuits! I think one meal there will last me three or four days after surgery!
  5. Thank you. I'm having trouble finding the chewable vitamins. Still a little unclear about what I can add to the Bariatric Advantage. I'm supposed to be on the shake diet for several days before the surgery. A recipe sheet they gave me said you could add fruit but it didn't say how much or what kind. Anyone have experience with this?
  6. Is anyone in the Arlington, TX area. Any Dr Castro patients?
  7. This is my first time responding here. please let me know if i do or say something wrong! I'm scheduled for July 30th. Nervous. A little worried about how I'm going to feel about giving up so many favorite foods and beverages. I must say, I am totally addicted to food! On a positive note, I'm looking forward to having more energy, being able to get off of meds. It will be nice to be able to buy clothes that are prettier! Plus sized clothes are horrible! I am a size 20 - 22. I hope to lose at least 100 pounds. I would be very happy to be a size 10 or 12 but a 16 would be great, too!
