  1. Can anyone tell me how they dealt with the scary fact that you can die from this surgery. I'm sorry to be so morbid but this reallllly scares me and I'm trying hard not to think about it. Yeah, I know you can die of anything but this is really making me second guess myself. Especially with the link between the sleeve and pancreatic cancer and stomach cancer. Sorry. I just really need someone help.
  2. Hi Snookie, it's great that God diabetes is dropping. What a blessing. Makes all of the pain worth it at the end. May you continue to be blessed with good health. Question - why did it take you do long to return to work? Was it the recovery time? l
  3. Congratulations Patteee. I too a cancer survivor 2 + years. Many blessings and good luck on your weight loss journey. I can't weight lol (I spelled it that way on purpose) for my 6 month Dr. Appts to be over.
  4. Well I am in cancer remission and I've read some scary things about cancer reoccurring else where. I have to talk to my oncologist and my gastro drs. before I get it. But I just read a quote from someone that said "are you really living life now"? So, basically I'm not, so I guess I should just do it. I have yet to go to the support groups. I'm hoping to go this week and see if anyone there can give me insight. Plus these boards are awesome. Just do all of the research. I also created a cute binder with all of my wls stuff. Google the WLS bible.
  5. I have 1199 insurance and its a 6 month wait. 6 consecutive Dr. Visits. Make sure you do not miss one because then you have to start the process all over. To be honest it is going quick for me. So much so that I don't even want to do it now. Im in my 3rd month.
  6. I'm in Nassau county but I'm using Dr. McGinty at St Lukes Roosevelt Hosp. in Manhattan. Great reviews about him.
