Port Question-can You Please Advise?
I have been banded for almost 7 weeks now and doing overall really well. However, some days I have port pain. More towards the end of the day if I have been sitting a lot or if I wear a tighter pair of pants it hurts really bad. Any ideas?

What should I do?
Dr Fox is Tacoma does it for 12,500. I had mine in Mexico and see Dr Fox for follow up here in Tacoma. I paid 8400.00 plus air fare at 400.00 and so less then 9k. Fills are 224.00 here in Tacoma. I think 17k is pretty high. But it also depends on where are happy and confident.

Banded in Mexico?
Hi I was banded a little over a month ago in Mexico. Dr A. Rodriguez in Monterrey, MX. IT was a wonderful experience. Trust me I was soooo hesitant and worried. But 2 friends of mine had theirs done by him with great success. As far as finding a dr here. I am in Washiongton and there are 4 drs. within a 40 mile radius that will do the continued care. I am glad I did it. I never could have afforded the surgery (12800)plus that labs (1-5000). But I paid 8400.00 plus air fare 500.00. The journey has begain!!

7 days
:clap2:Hi Everyone- I will be banded in seven days. I am sooooo thrilled. I was talking to friend and I have set a goal. One day I was walking on the streets of Seattle, WA. I passed by a Dance Studio. Through the sheer curtains I could see the shadows of people dancing. It was then I knew I wanted to learn to dance. My goal: to get heathy, strong, and a pair of dancing shoes. Please keep me in your prayers. This was made possible by God and so I know that He has big plans for me. Talk to you later!

Bandster Hell: Anyone in Heaven?
I think it is important to remember that a lot of people that have had complications too are searching for answers and support. (totally understandable) However, I know several people that had no complications, have been very successful 2-4 years post op and are so happy with life. Some people post on forums and others don't. Keep in mind that those with complications are a small fraction of surgeries actually done. Hang in there. My surgery date is 7/11. I am soooo excited.

Did anyone get there lap band done in mexico?
I am have surgery in Monterrey as well. July 11th. Dr Arturo Rodriguez is doing my surgery. I live in Washington State and 2 doctors here said both Dr Rumbaut and Dr Rodriguez are very good and they do follow up care. I have been nervous about the whole thing. But the patient coordinators, doctor and staff have been helpful. Word of mouth is another really good thing. I have 2 friends that had their surgery with the dr I am seeing. Do your research...ask questions..don't be afraid... I have also learned that everyone responds different to the surgery. Best wishes and God bless

How were you closed up?
Glue, Stiches, staples or tape? Or another method and how has that worked for you?:clap2:

19 days and counting!
Thank you so much for all your input. I needed it. Sometimes encouragement and re-assurance is all we need. How did the doctor close your incisions. Staples, glue, disolvable stiches? How far post op are you?

19 days and counting!
I am excited. I guess the thing I am most worried about is infection. I can deal with the risks and complications that can happen down the road...but I am concerned about the incision/port getting infected. I don't know anyone personally. (have met and talked with 15 people or so) through support groups and friends and none of them have had problems but there seems to be alot on the website. Any input of encouragement?

That is my most current worry. Infection! How have you healed?

19 days and counting!
Hi Everyone 19 days till surgery. I am so excited yet feeling a bit overwhelmed. I feel overwhelmed at the thought that this could really work. After all the failed diets, fads, and programs. Is this really it? I just cannot imagin. Well I can. I weighed 160lbs before my son was born, after that the weight gain didn't stop till I hit my hugh of 173. Today I am 165. Anyone else feel that feeling of "this is a dream"? I am so excited just...you. Thank you to everyone who shares. It is inspiring?
