1. Me too. Doc says first focus on fluid intake. That's a problem too. Just so full with just a mouthful.
2. Wonder if chris christie is a Paid spokesperson for allergan. Does anyone know more info?
3. Whole bottle. I hate that crap.
4. ......nursebarbie's now gagging just thinking about that one. Phenergan + zofran STAT!
5. Hate obamacare but I heart laura-ven, for the record!
6. And fyi. Those of us who pay for our insurance through our employers will have a 400% rate hike next 5 years. We already had the first 100% increase last year. Google blue cross blue shield california increased premiums. The medical groups have to recover their costs somehow and we will be the ones paying for it. And no, obamacare won't cover wls. Read the bill.
7. Whoa! I don't know anyone around here that do. The idea is good but the actual mechanics of it are seriously flawed. That's the part I have a problem with. It will bankrupt this country worse than it already is. 20% of the population pay the majority of taxes. Of course those who benefit from free services vote for obama. I am also a certified trauma and ER nurse. Now working as a ER case manager and really have gotten to understand how insurance and benefits work. Having the title of "insurance" isn't the same thing as being fully covered when you have an emergency. The coverage will be extremely limited and god forbid you need extended care or extra services it will not be covered or your share of costs will make it cost prohibitive. Many of my patients are in the same boat. A lot of my md friends are going private practice in fear of obamacare. Get paid 10 cents on the dollar like medicare but do 500% more work? Forget it. As a nurse I am concerned about uninsured people but this is not the answer. It needs a lot of tweaking and input. Obamacare will be bare bones coverage with very limited benefits. Basically you will be underinsured. People will find out. Let's talk in a few years when hospitals keep closing because they can't afford to operate under 10 cents per dollar pay scale. 10 hospitals in my area have closed past 10 years and I live in one of the richest counties in southern california. Sad. We needed those.
8. Good idea. Will try that.
9. Yeah, I know that about nurses. I'm the one who willingly volunteers to mentor and train. Guess I sympathize with newbies. This has made me quite popular wherever I work because I am friends with everyone even those nasty people.
10. Honestly I still have it to some degree though I've only vomitted 3 times. I'm 4 weeks plus post op. Have reglan, phenergan, and prilosec. Really depends on what I eat. Still on pureed stage another 2 weeks. More acidic foods or spicy foods kill me as does coffee and shakes.
11. Down 58 pounds total 24 pounds post op cw 200 Before At 4 weeks post op
12. Try succulents. Almost impossible to kill them. I love my little patio and porch gardens. Also have a collection of wind chimes and pinwheels.
13. I love collecting vintage birdcages and tea cup sets. So pretty I use them all the time.
14. I love gardening too. Live in a condo but enjoy flower boxes and container gardening. Very relaxing.
15. Down 24 pounds post op.
16. Just like people to get along. Not always realistic I know.
17. Thanks. I appreciate all your support.
18. Maybe I am the only one who gets my feelings hurt on these forums. Maybe its the hormones out of wack since surgery. Or maybe its the fact that I haven't been off work for 6 weeks and I feel so isolated, so alone. And this site made me feel so comforted. Like I had this big group of friends in the same boat as me. Tonight I guess some of the hostility is getting to me. It seems if you go against someone who's been here longer or sleeved longer than watch out. I may be newly sleeved but I am not an idiot. My opinions can have value too. Anyhow, just feeling alone and discounted. Thanks for reading.
19. I'm still on pureeds for two more weeks. 4 weeks post op. I'm walking 30 minutes twice a day plus swimming 3 times a week. I live on yogurt, refried beans, poached eggs, pureed chicken, soup, and oatmeal. My tummy doesn't like much of anything.
20. Hw 258 Sw 223 Cw 200 199 if I stand on one foot!
21. I think someone mention strictures on here before which is a narrowing in the stomach. Yes please call your doctor.
22. Really love the advice the others have given you. The doc can run some simple lab tests for hormone balance and also assess if you need something for depression and/or referral to a therapist. Worth taking a look. Why be miserable?
23. Wow I didn't know that. Last time I couldn't fit anything in soma. G cup. Now I am a triple d. Worth checking out again for sure.
24. Obamacare will be like that here. Most nurses and doctors I know hate it. Oh well I guess the people who voted for it will find out.
