  1. August 7th!! I have been on this forum for hours a day just trying to be more informed. I'm going to start shopping for my liquids. I am required to do a 2 week liquid diet. What about everyone else and what liquids will you drink? My nutritionist said anything with a straw.
  2. MsPierre. I believe on the power of prayer and I speak healing and life into your moms life and nutrients into yours. You are a victor!! God can do anything but fail. Please keep us posted on your progress because you WILL be successful.
  3. You guys sound like us!! My sleeve date is August 7 th and I'm sure my husbands will be end of August. i started my process before him. I was so afraid he wasn't going to be supportive and he was!!! I am do excited to take this journey with my BFF. Good luck to you too!
  4. You guys are awesome! Thanks.
  5. Ok I have heard all of the good and now I want to hear all of the bad and the ugly. I don't care how bad it is. I want to hear. My sleeve date is Aug 7th. I really want to know EVERYTHING there is to know about the sleeve and i'm sure the good out weighs the bad but I NEED to know the bad. Thanks in advance.
  6. I feel so much better. Thanks all!
  7. Thanks and you're both right. I know we are all different. I am hopeful and determined to make this work for me.
  8. Hello VSG family. Has anyone NOT had success with the sleeve? I am Pre-surgery August 7th sleeve date. I keep having nightmares that mine won't work. I guess I'm considered a lightweight at 5'4 and 220 weight and 38 BMI. some are saying that I won't lose much because "I'm not that big" or because I have a lot of muscle tone in my legs well fat is fat and I'm overweight with a host of medical issues. Please give me the good bad and the ugly. I would prefer to hear from sleevers close to my weight. My doctor gave me the choice of the RNY or Sleeve but I believe the sleeve is right for me. Thanks in advance.
  9. This thread is a breath of fresh air. I have had PCOS for about 10+ years. I have having to explain what it is and why I am getting the surgery (surgery Aug7th) People judge me because my BMI is a lower BMI 38. They feel like PCOS is just an excuse but I am believing it will help with regular cycles and the increased weight gain. It seems like most of the responders are Pre-Surgery. :-) wish I had more data. My doctor is going to take am ultrasound to get a baseline to see if it will really help. Good luck to all.
  10. Are there any sleevers that have ever had a stroke PRE SURGERY?? My husband had a stroke a couple of years back and is preparing for the sleeve also. We will both be sleeved. Just wanted to hear from anyone who can provide feedback as to the benefits. Thanks in advance.
  11. My surgery date is August 5th and my husband has his first consult today. We want to do it as close together as possible. It will be great for support. Your thoughts? BTW, I had my consult and approval all in less than 2 weeks!
  12. Thank you! I'm hungry thinking about it! I am going to enjoy myself until then. I'm sure I won't be able to have my favorite cheese fries from outback anymore so I will enjoy them tonight! LOL
  13. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. I have a surgery date of Aug 5th! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. If I can just get through this 2 week liquid diet!
