  1. July 29th here. I lost 11 pre op and 23 since surgery but haven't lost anything in 3 days or so.... Sucks but that's life. I will take 34lbs lol
  2. Let me start with saying I am almost 3 weeks out... The first week just plain sucked. My PCP put me on some anxiety meds to take the edge off. Hoping I won't need them for long but I have had problems with anxiety all my life. It is at a high right now. Us usually I can self control it....but I am getting better everyday. I got moved to pureed/mushy foods on Wednesday. I have had cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and mashed potatoes. Have handled them all fine. I can get my fluids in no problem and falling only a little short on Protein cuz Protein drinks are getting old... I have yet to start actually excersizing but try to walk for at least 15 minutes per day at least 6 times a week. Once I'm cleared to swim I will return to my gym for elliptical time and Water aerobics... My main 2 complaints my hair is falling out really bad already... 3 weeks out.. I don't want to be bald and I'm terrified Second is sleep. I think I have gotten 1 decent night of sleep in almost 3 weeks. First week... Uncomfortable and upset and just couldn't... Second week my family had the stomach bug I have been up with 2 sick kids all last weekend cleaning throw up and blankets and floors... Now my 5 yr old wakes up like a newborn... And if he actually sleeps I wake up at 630 and can't sleep... I am so tired and my body is suffering as well as my brain. If I get goof sleep I lose weight if I don't it goes up.... I am so frustrated and irritable during the day and my hubby is no help cuz he works in the morning.... Thanks for letting me get that off my chest....
  3. My surgeon is really hard to reach anytime other than office hours. And his office hours leave a lot to be determined. If I start feeling I'll. I will try to call them. Thanks.
  4. I'm not throwing up or have nausea but my son does. I am just worried if it is the stomach flu then what....
  5. Has anyone had the stomach flu since being sleeved? My son either has that or food poisoning and we don't know which one. I am almost 2 weeks out and terrified of getting the stomach flu. My Dr specifically said do not throw up you could rupture your staple line. But what if I get sick like my son?? I am freaking out!!!!!
  6. I can drink 8 oz in like 15 minutes. I was sleeved 7/29. I don't have to sip much I can almost take a normal drink and it doesn't hurt at all. I can easily get my fluids and protein in finally.
  7. I have been full of regret and anxiety and wondering if I made the right choice.... I am 8 days out from surgery and I have been suffering through. No major problems just sore and sad and anxious... But I decided that I should be thankful. I chose this and I need to make the best of it. So I am trying to change my inner voice to things like You can and are doing this You are stronger than you think You do not need food to be social You can have fun still There is no attack so just relax. I have also been trying to calm myself with deep breathing. And trying to get back to my old routine... Doing better with liquids and Protein. Trying to get my calories up a bit too. 5'11" Highest weight 322 Pre op weight 307 Surgery weight 296 Current weight 280
  8. Thank you that is what I do... I just keep seeing so many say so many different things. Just wanna go with something that feels right
  9. I understand one I start eating but I am on full liquids only... Still the same?
  10. Well my protein drinks sit there for awhile but I just had cream soup and feel like I need to drink...
  11. Does anyone know if you are on your liquid phase do you have to wait 30 minutes before and after to drink water???
  12. I have been around a lot of my family eating. I can not sit at home so I am out with friends and family usually around d dinner so I watch. In pre op diet I couldn't stand it o would go to my room... Now I'm not hungry. Does it suck yeah but do I feel like eating it yes but I know I can't so I drink my Protein or eat my Soup and drink my Water... Not easy but doable... Hope that helps.
  13. I am a week out and losing more hair than normal. When I was on a low carb diet for a few months I lost a bunch. I'm terrified I will be bald...
  14. I just feel like I'm not getting enough calories in at all. I barely get 200 a day. How is that healthy??? I called my Dr office cuz I have questions but havent gotten a call back. I am on full liquids for 3 weeks...
  15. How long did it take people to really start getting their Protein in? How long til you could drink say an 11 oz Premier Protein drink. I think I drank mine either too fast or too much because I feel kinda nauseous... I am a week out and have barely had any calories or protein... So I am trying to up it but I think I over did it??? I need some guidance please!
  16. That feels like I could have written the whole thing. If I an trying to sleep I can't anxiety attacks. I can't nap but I can't stand the taste of the liquid pain meds. So I took myself off of them. I have had more bad days than good but tried to push myself to far too fast. I breakdown everyday at least once... I cry, I get mad, I regret my decision... The only thing that makes me better is taking my mind off of it. Go for a walk... Watch a good movie.. Talk on the phone. Go to the store or my moms. I can not be just left alone and not do anything. I also have a hard time with Protein drinks , same as you nasty dry mouth... Here's to hoping we both get better faster!!!
  17. I was sleeved July 29th so I am 5 days out. When I lay down to try and sleep I keep getting anxiety attacks. I was on medicine a couple years ago for it when my youngest son passed... I deal with anxiety attacks on a pretty regular basis but since surgery I keep getting them at least 2-3 times a day... I feel like I'm going crazy. In turn I can't sleep and then I am more anxious and frustrated that I even had the surgery. I think Monday I will call my regular Dr and see what he thinks. I hate feeling anxious all the time
  18. I have to have 3 weeks of full liquid then 2 weeks puree then 2 weeks soft... Then I can start introducing new foods. So 8 weeks til I can have real food... But right now I don't want anything!!!!
  19. I keep seeing everyone is already taking Vitamins. My Dr said wait until week 3 to start vitamins... Also I got in about 45 grams of Protein and about 32 oz of Fluid so far. Hoping to get more in in the next few hours. But only like 240 calories...
  20. No I'm not worried about the weight loss. I wasn't expecting to lose so much so fast actually. I am losing like 3 lbs a day. Got up this morning feeling icky again took my meds and half a protein drink and went back to bed for a couple hours. Feel better now. I just am taking it one day at a time and sleeping when I can.
  21. Did they get stuck at all or feel painful? My ambien is tiny and I am supposed to be taking metformin but that pill is pretty big. They want me to crush them but I can't get them down.
  22. I guess that's just the way he does things. I guess I was so eager to just get it done and over with I didn't notice that my surgeon or anyone there really told me what to expect before or after surgery. I have learned most of what is normal, what to watch for and such on here. I did OK coming home the next day but felt like I wasn't set up properly to know what to do or how the first week is. I didn't realize how hard it would be to keep hydrated or the pain in my stomach or the gas!!!! I feel better everyday but I just feel icky. I don't know how to explain exactly how I feel... Nervous, scared sometimes I regret I did it... But I am trying to learn what works. I walk/pace my living room about 5 to 6 times a day. Usually when I take my meds because they are nasty. I try to drink at least 1 Protein shake a day but failing miserably and trying to drink at least a bottle of Water and a sf Popsicle. My aunt bought me a shaved ice machine so I am going to try to mix unflavored Protein powder in with my Powerade zero and see if I can get more protein in that way. I am barely taking in 200 calories right now. I never gained weight in the hospital. My starting weight was 307, day of surgery 296, and as of this morning ,284. I feel so fatigued and tired that I just wanna sleep but have a hard time sleeping... Sorry for such a long post.. I just need feedback!!
  23. Thanks... I know its major surgery but I hate feeling down. As of Monday I am on my own with 2 kids 5 days a week... I'm struggling with this. How far out were you allowed to swallow pills if ever? I take ambien to sleep but it is so gross crushed it's like instant gag. My doc says go ahead but the pharmacy guy says do not swallow pills they will get stuck...
  24. I was only in over night. I couldn't wait to leave there. I don't go to my Dr until August 20th which is 3 weeks out..
