  1. My surgeon was Dr. Dyer. He was great. He is very attentive ( came to see me 2 times a day and was very responsive to my needs). You will be in great hands. The nurses are great too. Julie and Cara were the best.
  2. Thanks! Doctor released me yesterday. I still have to do a lot of lung work to make sure they stay clear. Glad to be home and can't wait to get the drainage tube out. It is causing a lot of pain. Hard to cough with it in which is important for my lungs. My mother has been wonderful. I don't know what I would do without her support and help.
  3. I have had a rough time since surgery. This is my fourth day and I am still in the hospital. I have been running a fever off and on for the last couple days. They think it is from my lungs. They are afraid of me getting pneumonia. My original iv blew and they had to put in a mid pick line. I am struggling with my drainage site. It is soooo sore. Makes it hard to cough. I am not sure if the dr will allow me to go home today or not. I am not drinking very much because of the stomach spasms. Beginning to wonder if I should have done this.
  4. You might want to take some zinc to head the possible cold off at the pass. Zicam works pretty good. I hope you feel better. Wishing cold vibes away from you. (O:
  5. I have heard the same thing so I got a small travel pillow. Found it at Walmart for around $5.
  6. Everyone seemed so excited about our surgery on July 1. I'm excited too but ooohhhh so nervous. Am trying to absorb all the positive energy through my iPad. Lol I know that everything will go wonderful for each of us. I will say a prayer for all of my VST friends.
  7. Good to know that others may have messed up to and have found success on the other side of surgery. something I needed to hear. Thanks.
  8. Day 12 of the pre-op diet and I fail. I caved and had a meal that was definitely not on the plan. Did I just reversed all of my hard work and I did over the last 11 days? Does this mean I should postpone my surgery? I feel so down about this.
  9. July 1st in Nashville
  10. I am an apple too. I will keep you posted. My surgery is July 1st.
  11. I think that my time to get the surgery today was a exception because the time from the day that I first contacted the center that I am using until my surgery day is only six weeks. I did months of research before I actually called the center. I wanted to be sure this is the right decision.
  12. Are you guys that are near Nashville going with Centennial or Vanderbilt?
  13. That makes! Well I hope we can keep in touch and that you have safe travels to and from Mexico.
  14. What made you choose Mexico?
  15. Yes I am required To be on a liquid diet. I did well the first three days but I started feeling really weak and got diarrhea on day four. The nutritionists had me add in some lean protein in to the diet as well as a probiotic to help with the diarrhea. She wants me to do this only for the weekend and then to give her a call Monday morning to see if I am feeling better. I hope that I can go back on liquid Monday because I know how important the liquid diet is. I wish I had a better news story for the liquid diet. How is it going for you?
  16. July 1st is my surgery date as well. I am looking for buddies too.
  17. My surgery is July 1st as well. I am nervous but excited. Never had surgery before so nervous about actually going to sleep and being cut on. Excited about the new healthier life that I hope to have in the future. I am on day five of the pre-op diet and must admit that I had to talk to the nutritionist today and she made some modifications because of the issues that I was having. Yesterday I started having diarrhea and was feeling really weak so she told me to add some lean Protein like chicken tuna fish into the diet for just the weekend and then give her a call back on Monday morning to see how I was feeling. also I have a little bit of a problem with Dairy so she told me to cut back on the dairy-based Protein shakes and just do the nectar for my protein and drink plenty of fluids and start on a probiotic. I am hoping that all of this helps. The reality of having surgery in a little over a week still has not set in yet.
  18. What a beautiful prayer. A pray that your your surgery goes well.
