I finally got results back from leak test and they are letting me have water! I looked at the 1oz medicine cups they brought me, and I was like oh my I can sip these down in a few mins! Little did I realize it's going to take longer than that....literally sitting in this hospital bed I realize this is the rest of my life....1oz at a time! Also 1lb at a time!!! I didn't get fAt over night!!! Kim 1 day post op:)

Well, I can finally post on the post op board!!! Getting ready to go to X-ray for my leak test!! Fingers crossed that there are no leaks!! I am so parched, I can't wait to sip some water:) Kim

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts today! After I got back to my room from recovery this morn I was so nauseated and pain was pretty bad, but once I got some more pain meds and zofran I felt 10x better!! I've walked a lot today and gotten up to go to the bathroom!! It's amazing how much better you feel once that gas starts moving out!!! The worst part is dry mouth! Good night my fellow sleevers Kim

Surgery day is here!! I did lose 12lbs on my preop diet!!! So I'm excited to see how much more I'm going to lose on this journey, to feel comfortable in my skin :)

So I'm first on the surgery list this morn! Fixing to go to the back in pre-op! Nervous, excited an I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S HERE!!! Kim

Before I will be headed to the hospital to have my surgery! Nervous a little scared and a lot excited!!! Kim

Has been my lifesaver through this low carb, high Protein diet the last 2 weeks!! If I felt I needed something sweet I have reached for the gum!!! Thank goodness after surgery my NUT even suggest chewing sugar free gum! She says a lot of patients miss "chewing" during the 2 week liquid diet and the 4 week puréed stage! NUT said it will really help!!! Surgery 8/8/13 Kim

Mine allows it!!! Tylenol works, but Ibuprofen works better:)

I was wondering if you could take ibuprofen post-op? My weight loss center said I could take it!! I know GB patients can't, but was just wondering about other people!?! Kim Surgery 8/8/13

I did take before pics, at my pre-op visit, it was the day before my pre-op diet started!!! So that was prob my highest weight!! I can't believe it's almost here either Kim

....to buy her Protein shake mix for post op and the 70 year old lady that asked if i needed help, I tell her I'm looking for the section where they have to Vitamins and Protein Shake mix, so she walks me to the back and shows me!! She proceeds to ask me when my surgery is etc...and we chit chat for a min and she looks straight at me and says "honey you don't need that surgery, you look good like you are.....well thank you sweetheart, that was kind if you, but at 250 POUNDS I LOOK ANYTHING BUT GOOD!!!!! So sweet of her and her 90 lbs. soaking wet body, but I thank I will go on with the surgery:) Kim 8/8/13 is my day:)

That sounds like me!! I get off at 11pm and at the end if my week it takes me a whole day of sleeping to get over working my shifts, I hope after the first few weeks and starting the weight loss I will have more energy!!!

And works 12 hr shifts? (Or any type of work) I'm having surgery on 8/8 and go back to work on 8/23! Just wondering how you felt when you went back to work and standing on your feet for that long and caring for patients?!? Were you totally exhausted at first! I know everyone is different, but just curious!! Kim

One question! I know we won't be able to eat as much!!!! But do you eventually get back to the place that you can enjoy going back out to eat, or go to a BBQ, baby shower, reception!?! All within reason!!

Last night I kept dreaming crazy stuff about going to a dirty hospital for surgery, bad docs and meeting crazy people that had surgery!! I swear Those dreams were so real!! I guess it's just my crazy nerves acting up!! But I woke up still shaky feeling!!! Anyone use chocolate unjury protein powder?

Today at 1:30 I have my pre-op, I meet with the surgeon and the nutritionist and have my lab work and chest X-ray!! I have to carry my post op vitamins and my protein shake mix to be approved!! I've been on this journey since January 8th, and surgery is 8/8! Pre-op diet starts tmrw, high protein and low carb!! Have a wonderful day everyone:) Kim
