  1. I am Shelby!! I am 23 and I live with my NEW husband, out 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 guinea pigs. We just recently got married (June 22) and he's very supportive about my journey, although quit the big guy himself!! I am VERY close to my family, I lived with my parents up until I was 21. They helped me come to the conclusion of dropping out of high school when I was 16 and helped me get my GED shortly after. I've been working every since. I've had lots of jobs but no careers, so 3 years ago I enrolled in college for business management. I love bookwork and numbers and frankly, ordering people around lol. I hope to one day have a career related to... WHO KNOWS! At first I wanted to run my own restaurant but after watching close family fail at it, I know now it may not pay the best, so maybe something food/restaurant related. That being said I have a never ending love of food. My mother was a cook at a restaurant since 2 years before I was born. She taught me to respect food and how to make it last for little to no cost. My dad makes decent money drilling wells and septic systems but it seems we never had "enough", so that is why I started working at such a young age. Currently I work or a company called REM, which cares for mentally handicapped people. I am passionate about it and love making people feel good and loved! I am an animal lover of obsessive amounts lol. Growing up we have had ANY animal you can imagine. About 3 years ago the pitbull breed first came into my life and has never left. I currently have 1 full and 1 mixed pitbull and I think they are just the greatest dogs ever. I love all dogs but these guys are just special! I love the outdoors and staying active, which my weight clearly doesn't show, but I really do enjoy it. I'm a fish out of Water and love competitive weight lifting, kayaking, wake boarding, bike polo, frisbee golf, softball and camping to name a few. I have battled serious depression at such a young age and it was all centrally related to my weight and obesity. I was so big for so long that I started to LIKE how big I was, and I called myself a BBW and seeked out men who had big girl fetishes, well I am still proud of who I am but I am no longer TRYING to be a BBW, I want to be healthy and start a family very soon!!! And I want to be an active and fit mom!!! I'm so glad to be on this journey and appreciate ANY friends or feedback to relate to!!! 3. Are there ANY brands out there of chips crackers or anything crunchy that are ok on an occasional basis? I mean for dipping, like hummus? Would pretzels be ok? Or for tuna/chicken salad? Every once in a while it would be nice to have a crunch vessel to eat it on. I understand they might be sliders and have little nutrition but for me try would be a good treat like how others may indulge on popcorn or something once or twice a month. I'm talking way past regular food stage and also once I've reached a good "maintain" point too that is. Just wanna know what my options are!!!! Thank you SW: 324 DOSW: 322 CW: 315 surgery date-7/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. I see so many people enjoying chili during the puréed phase and I'm going to be there next week and I LOVE chili so I'm thinking this would be great for me. Are there any certain kinds of chili people buy or are you all just making homemade? I typically make homemade but I don't know how healthy it is, ground beef, 3 kinds of Beans with chili sauce, some tomatoes, some chili seasonings and basically that's it. Just wondering if I should whip up my own chili from scratch or if there are canned (eek scary to me) chili that doesn't taste like dog food!!!! 5. Another menstrual question, after surgery did your flow pick up ALOT? I used to bleed for maybe a full day and half of a night. Not even enough for 3 tampons, and now it's constant and very bright in color, should I be concerned? I have been anemic since surgery also SW: 324 DOSW: 322 CW: 315 surgery date-7/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. So I talked to my dietician today and told her I've thrown up every Protein shake I've had aside muscle milk and a little Special K protein, but these don't have the big doses of protein in them like the whey does, so I asked for a good idea for unflavored protein (I ordered some online should be here tomorrow) besides just sprinkling it on what ever I'm eating and she said get some fat free milk, some sugar free syrup, make chocolate milk and put your protein in it!! She said depending on the quality and brand of the protein it could taste grainy but its better than a full fledged shake. Also I know I may have a milk intolerance but ill cross that bridge when I come to it! There's plenty of other options for milk!!! I just thought I'd share that with everyone because I've been so upset about all the money I've wasted on protein and how sick it's made me!! Anyone's else's dietitians lenient like this? Or should I say forgiving? Idk I guess Sugar Free Chocolate syrup isn't healthy for you obviously but it's certainly not a 12 pack of mt dew a day. 7. I'm 5 days post op still on liquid pain medicine also on gas strips but I got my period yesterday and in having HORRIBLE period cramps and nausea that make the stomach pain so much worse. The lortap doesn't help for it. What else can I take? I'm not too fond of crushing pills so I just haven't taken my regular meds (nothing major) so idk what I can take liquid tylonal? Anything?! 8. That's exactly what it feels like. A sharp spasm that's over fast but it hurts bad enough to linger. Also getting hiccups ALOT from almost every thing I drink. Those HURT SW: 324 DOSW: 322 CW: 315 surgery date-7/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  9. I'm still having the pains, bought gas strips which helped with the gassy bloated feeling but I definitely still have an empty grumbling feeling. Everything I eat, or drink, it goes like this. I swallow a small sip of Water an about 2 seconds after its passed my throat I feel it hit my stomach, then it instantly tightens up like a fist, then I feel the fist pressure slowly climb up my throat like a burp would, but it never amounts to anything. It just stops mid way up. I guess I'm trying to say that I'm not getting ANY relief from eating/drinking. I still feel sick and empty. I've not had anything "wrong" and been trying all sorts of allowed items to see if maybe one thing hurts less than another but it's all the same story. Jello popsicles broth water flavored water Gatorade diluted juice sugar free pudding, it all has the same effect, although the heavier stuff does hurt a little more. I have my follow up tomorrow at 2 so of course I will bring this all up to him then. Just frustrating that I'm supposed to get all this water and Protein in when it pains me just to sip water. 10. No we have only GNC and Walgreens and neither carry them but that's ok I think I would rather mix my own unflavored with juices or shakes. A previous post said they mixed with g2? Did that taste ok? I'm a huge water/flavored water/Gatorade/powerade lover so that would be ideal!! Starting weight 321- sleeve date 07/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  11. I have no way of buying an individual bottle so I will just pass on them. Ill rely on my unflavored Protein because the nectar shakes are revolting. Starting weight 321- sleeve date 07/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  12. The only store like that I have here is GNC and they have no single bottle I was hoping I could find a watery Protein drink because shakes do not stay down. Since pre op. so I'm ordering unflavored protein and hoping that'll help. Starting weight 321- sleeve date 07/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. Are these the same as the glass bottles that say "isopure" on them? I ordered this sample pack and can't tolerate a single flavor out of the bunch, of these nectar things. That's why I was hoping the Isopure had more of a juicy consistency. Starting weight 321- sleeve date 07/10/13 Sent from my iPhone using VST
  14. I'm looking for advice on gas but not the gas from surgery, the gas you make like burping hiccups and farting. Those has been KILLING my stomach. The otherwise pain isn't bad at all but the constant gurgling and lurching is really hurting it. I have had some BMs so I'm not worried about being constipated. I'm just drinking Water, diluted juice, and had 1 Popsicle since Wednesday so I don't think I'm eating anything I shouldn't be. I looked for gas strips but only could find mylanya gas relief chewable tablets. Which of course taste like chalk and old mints. I did chew 2 of them a few hours ago hoping for some releuf before bed and have felt absolutely none. Hasn't gotten worse but definitely hasn't gotten better either any ideas?
