  1. So I knew that there was a chance that having the band would not make me be able to have a baby, but underneath I hope that losing the weight would have made a diffance and I would have fallen, but nothing. I do have periods each month like clock work so in that way I am lucky!! or so I have been told!! I dont feel lucky I feel gutted, I hoped by having the lap band and shifting the weight I would become a mum, instead nothing. So my husband and I went to harley st in london and we start our IVF on the 12th May. I hate the fact they can not tell me why I do not become pregrant, I think I would rather someone say this is wrong or that. I hate the fact that all my life I have worked and paid in to OUR NHS and I am not allowed it funded as my husband has a daughter with an EX, so because of another womans child I am not allowed it funded and have to fund it my self along with the fact I had to fund my own lap band. What is wrong with this country, all these other people come over to our country and get everything on the NSH, and I get turned away but I still have to pay my taxe's. Arggggggggggg Anyway other then that I am happy with my weight loss, 22st2lb start and am today 15st 12lb. So getting slim and sexy.
  2. just to let you all know it worked 1st time, and I find out if I have twins next friday, well worth every penny.
  3. I am having my 3rd fill tomo and I can not wait.... I want to go now!!! I am so excited about getting more weight off, I have been at 18st 3lbs for ages so I am so excited to get going again, I so want to get into 17stones. I think I might go to bed now so it will be here sooner:biggrin:
  4. dont worry you wont be awake. Everytime I see my surg for a fill I think he has seen me naked, BUT the diffence is he saw the fat naked not the new slimer me. Dont worry let it hang out.

    Lap band & chocolate??

I will be honest and I know a few will think BAD girl... I had my op last june 07 and have lost 6 stone also, and all I eat is chocolate most of the time as I know I wont be sick on it. I cant eat loads and really I should try and stop as I am getting into bad habits, and the weight would come off quicker if I stopped but I just want somthing to eat some times. Bad I know sorry............
  7. I fell off today, I really winded my self, and have not stopped bruping, I am on the pepper mint tea now with the hope of moving on to the vodka later to get rid of the pain!!! God am I glad I am 6 stone lighter, I really fell, and as my horse is 18.1h just a bit bigger then a shire, it was a long fall. My husband done all my mucking out so I think I might have to play on the sore leg!!!

    Not Sure

Hi donna, My family were against the op, my mum was in tears saying please dont go through with it and they are all big also so I thought they would understand!!! It is funny how they have changed their minds now I have had it done, my Dad is book for his own op in the next few months, and my mum thinks it was the best thing I have done. I decided enough was enough when I couldnt fall pregrant, I was told I would need IVF but couldn't have it on the NHS as my Husband has a daughter with someone else, so I though I would go private, the problem I had was noone would do IVF in less I was 13 max, and I was over 22 stone so I had loads to lose, and I knew I woulnd't do it my self, not even for wanted a baby, if anything it just made my over eating worse. So last yr I paid private to have the op done. I had my 1st fill in September and today I have lost 6stone so far, I didnt even try the doctor, to be honest I knew they would be interested, I have no medical problems from being over weight only that I cant have a baby, so they would never have put me forward for this op. I was scared, I am the bigest wimp, and I have a fear of hospitals, cant even touch the doors, sit on beds, too many germs but I doneit and I would go back there tomo and have it done again. you should try and find a local meeting, and have a chat with a few people, maybe take your mum or dad with you.

Hello I was banded on the 28th June last yr, I had to wait a while until my 1st fill which was done in September, my starting weight was 22st2lb so being 16st 6lb is great, I feel so much better in my self.

3rd fill in 14ml band tomo

Hi all well I had the fill and now am 16st 6lb and went out on sat and so many people who had ot seen me in ages were like WOW you look great. I to am in a size 18 form a 26 and am loving shopping in more shops then Evans.
  11. I had the same thougths I even told my husband we should go and they can keep the money, ive changed my mind!!! I was the same I was laying on the table and they were trying to get a needle in me to send me off, I do NOT do needles!!! he was being nice but when he said my body was in a panick which was why they couldn't find a vien, he might as well have said your dying, I justed laid there with tears rolling down my face. When I came round I felt great, and was over the moon that it was over and felt a little silly, for being so scared. I too had no pain not really, I can honestly say having my tonsil's out was worse. congrats on becoming a bander:biggrin2:
  12. Hello I am in the uk and self paid for my op, I was given a heathly diet to follow, lucky for me no real hard plan. I thought I had put on weight b4 my op, as I felt like I was always having last suppers bad I know, but if I could follow a diet I wouldnt have to have been paying for this op, anyway lucky for me I had not and I had lost a little. My op was fine and I went home on the liquid diet,no pain or anything. it was a while b4 I had my 1st fill and to be honest I didn't feel anything when I did, so I went back 3 wks later to get another fill, I had put some weight on and I was gutted anyway he gave me my 2nd fill and I then found out how the band worked:rolleyes2:, I was not hungry at all to start of with and then I slowy started to get more hungry and my weight loss stopped(4mths later) which is when I just went for my 3rd fill, which was last thursday. I am now tight!! but I dont mind I have lost 9lb since last week so I dont mind, at the mo I am eating yougurt only as other food is to much effort but I know as the weight comes of it will loosen. I wish you all the best for your op, I started 22st 2lbs im now 17st 7lbs in 7mths. If this can work for me it can work for anyone. I still have the things maybe I shouldn't but I just cant have as much I will never be perfect, but I know I WILL be slim.

    Need some reassurance!

you are going to be fine, I am tight at the mo just had 3rd fill on Thursday but I am still eating what ever my family am, I just have very little and have to chew chew chew chew and a little more chewing. This was the best thing I ever had done, I still go out for a drink I just am a light weight drinker now and get drunk to easily. The only things I have given up is fizzy drinks, which I do miss a little but hey I want to be slim and sexy!!!!

Thanks for your replies I have made it to the 4stone yeahhhhhhhhh and I have found a web site call Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal - MyFitnessPal.com so am going to try and track what I am eating, as I think I am over eating. I think I will give it another month and see how I go and then maybe will contact bupa for my 3rd fill. I know I have 7.5ml at mo so maybe a little more nd I will be away again.

    newie!!

Hi good luck with being refered by your GP I really hope you get it. I self paid for mine, I knew that going to my doctor would be a waste of time. mine all started as I could not have a baby and because my hubby has a little girl I am not allowed IVF on the NHS so would have to go private. You have to be 13 max to have IVF and being 22 stone I knew I had to do some thing, the only problem I have with my weight is I cant fall pregrant so my GP would not refer me so I paid, but it was the best thing ever. If it is what you really want then go for it, I am 4 stone down and feel great all ready. Good luck let me know how you get on.
  23. I was the same nothing, I had no pain meds and just got on with things, I had op thurs out friday and went to party sat ( nothing heavy just sat and watched everyone else dance) Sunday I walked around shops with husband, I just took my time. I thought the same, when is the pain going to start..
  24. I thought same as you, I really thought this is going to cost a lot of money, why cant I just lose it my self??? I cant have children at the mo because of my weight and I really thought that would have made me lose the weight but NO. So I went ahead with it, and I feel great and I am writing this after just being sick from my dinner and I am a real wimp. I would do it all again tomo if I had to it rfeally is the besat thing I have ever had done, and I feel proud of myself for doing it.

    Lapband And Pcos

Hello I have PCOS and one of the main reasons I had this op was so it would improve and that hopefully I would be able to have a baby, fingers crossed. I know some ladies who had their op aboard and now have their fills done at the same bupa hospital as me as they had had a few problems.
