  1. As we all embarked on this journey we go through a whirlwind of emotions. Happy then scared. Anxious then thrilled. Hesitant then super sure. Prepared then not prepared enough. But we are READY! Ready to be healthy. Ready to love our bodies. Ready to be free. Ready for the OMG moments ahead. Ready for that wow factor when we see old friends. Ready for the new me. Ready to get this show on the road.
  2. That's exactly what I thought...,I didn't ask for after my egd/ endo but I definitely will b asking for one after the sleeve:)
  3. I am going in for my sleeve surgery on June 11. I have lost weight in the past and didn't have any issue with loose skin when I lost 60 pounds and I don't have any stretch marks. I am slightly fearful that I would have loose skin after the surgery, But I don't think I will because when I lost 60 pounds in four months doing protein shakes I didn't have any loose skin? I would like to know if anyone out there had no issues with loose skin?
  4. You know when the surgery is the right option for you other people can't determine that. I know that I resisted for a while thinking I can do it on my own but Once I decided to do the sleeve I feel more encouraged and knowing that it could be a great tool for weight loss and hearing all the success stories is a plus too. I am 30 ... 5'5"...290lbs and a BMI of 49...
  5. I'm so addicted to this forum too.... I read and read and read and read some more I love hearing other people's experiences so I am fully prepared I'm starting my liquid diet early because I need to lose 10 pounds pre op... I'm only starting two days early... But I have done protein shake diet for nine months before with only having a light dinner... But it was optional now the liquid diet is mandatory Which is playing head games with me.. Lol... I Should be fine!
  6. It's almost like a girdle but I guess it helps support your back after surgery... I thought it helped make your stomach flatter... Silly me
  7. Thank you I was just curious about it so I will ask for one.. I am not going to a bariatric clinic I am going to the regular hospital so hopefully they have them there:)
  8. Yes I start on Monday and I ordered a whole bunch of different flavored shakes from unjury.com I heard they taste really good I just got them today.
  9. I was reading on the post op forum That an abdominal binder is sometimes used and you can buy them at a medical supply store. Has anyone ever heard of using this from their doctor???? I am going to ask when I see her next week but I just wanted to get some opinions before I went...
  10. That's great... No worries:)
  11. I have Aetna and my surgeons office is taking care of all the paperwork... I'm assuming that I'm approval since I have a date of June 11th... Should I be worried., I have a BMI of 49 with no co- morbidities.

  16. My doctor is having me do a five shake liquid protein diet two weeks prior to my surgery date on June 11. I can also have sugar free crystal light and sugar-free Jell-O and water and sugar-free ice pops:)
  17. The Pre-liquid diet is to help lose. Some abdominal fat as well as shrink liver prior to the surgery. I am having my sleeve done in New Jersey so I'm not exactly sure what they require in Mexico maybe you can call to find out.
