  1. Hi Molly, where exactly is the ache and tenderness located?
  2. Thanks so much! This is really helpful information :-)
  3. How many grams of fats and sugars do they say to have?
  4. Thanks Bea! That is SO nice of you!!!
  5. I would like to join too. Current weight: 196 Goal weight: 185 That would put me in the "overweight" category rather than the "obese" category!
  6. I tell people that I am on a diet - high protein/low carb. That's the truth. The only thing the sleeve does for me is limit portion size - so I am doing all the work. I still have to make good choices. And that's the truth.
  7. Glad you're here Amy! Can you tell us what the 5 day pouch test involves? You were sleeved in 2008 - so you kept it all off for 5 years (except this 20 pound regain)? That's pretty amazing.
  8. 5 feet 6 inches and I lost 37 pounds at 2 months. Started at 253.
  9. I have had at least three stalls. I am almost 3 1/2 months out. My last stall was 12 days and it ended today with a 1 pound loss. Stalls happen to almost all of us. My first was at 3 weeks - similar to yours. Even with all the stalls, I have lost 56 pounds and am now in Onederland at 197! Hang in there! Just keep working your surgeon's plan.
  10. Kailisa! I am so happy for you! Big weight loss! And a big move to BIG Texas! You are closer to Kansas and Missouri so maybe me, you and Missougirl can get together sometime!! :-)
  11. You have a great attitude! Yes, it WILL work eventually. As long as you're working the plan, it definitely will.
  12. You are SO right! I'm 53 and I think it's harder for us the older we get. I am on an 8 day stall are you and your husband still on your stall?
  13. Thanks gamergirl. I didn't know. I have had hypothyroid for almost 20 years, so that gives me a slower metabolism. But at my 3 month checkup they found my meds were now too high so they lowered it. Makes me scared that will make my metabolism even slower now :-(
  14. How do they do a metabolism test?
  15. See what happens when you get your protein up to 50% for a few days?
  16. I used a heating pad wherever the pain moved to. Shoulder, back, etc. It helped me a LOT! I don't know why but it did.
  17. I was sleeved in Mexico so I don't know how it worked for others but I had my drain in for two days. The tube just came out the side of my stomach and drained into a small bulb shaped plastic thingy (sorry don't know the word for that). It wasn't painful or bothersome really. When they took it out I was afraid it was going to hurt but it didn't. They took it out just before I was discharged from the hospital. The purpose was to drain fluids and blood and to look for drainage related to leaks.
  18. I hope it works Patti! Let us know how you do :-)
  19. Well, good luck! How long have you stalled? I lost 55 pounds by 3 months, but I have stalled this last week. I have stalled a couple times before, but then it just breaks.
  20. Hi Patti and gamergirl! I hope the 50% idea helps. It has helped me a lot. I was so surprised when I realized my percentages. I do eat a lot of cheese, yogurt, dairy and meat and the fats & carbs really do add up percentage-wise.
