  1. Haha! Maybe you should change it to singingsleever! I don't know about you but I am feeling great and so glad I got this done. I am babying my sleeve right now but after 6 weeks we should be clear from any leaks. With the band, there was always fear that it would slip or wear a hole in the stomach. And, I am so glad this is permanent!!! I got the band because if anything went wrong, it could be taken out. Well, I am so glad it was taken out. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. Band removal surgery was pretty easy. It was at the end of November last year and I don't even remember the recovery so it must not have been a big deal. My surgeon did not want to do the sleeve and band removal in 1 procedure because my band had slipped and I needed at least 3 months to heal. After the band removal, I went wild with my eating. It was the bread that got me. I was not able to eat bread for 2 years and then all of a sudden, I could. Ugh...I gained 55 lbs in the 6 months my band was out.
  3. Ha! I think I have you all beat! I gained 55 lbs in 6 months. I ate so much bread and stuffed myself until the point where it hurt. When I had my lapband removed, I really didn't plan on getting the sleeve but a couple of months later, I realized I was back into my old habits. I just had my sleeve surgery on Thursday, June 6th and I am hoping this will be a much better experience than my band.
  4. Oh no! Sorry to hear. I hope you start feeling better soon. Don't be afraid to ask for strong pain meds. If you need them, this is your chance to get hem because the prescriptions they send us home with are not as powerful. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. It said it was a private group when I requested to join but I also do not want my FB friends to see it either. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. Thanks for the link. I went ahead and requested to join the group. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. Is everybody home from the hospital yet? I am home and everything is going well. I drink 1 oz every 15 minutes. Sometimes it hurts when I take the other half oz. My stomach muscles aren't as painful as I thought they would be do that's a plus. I am still having mild gas pains in my back, shoulders and chest. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  8. How is everyone feeling? The gas pains are the worst right now, other than that, I can't wait to start my liquids today. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  9. Just curious, did you have a blog when you were banded? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am in Andover and will be having surgery with Dr Johnson on Thursday. I'm excited! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  11. I still use the basket that my sons bottle nipples went in. He still uses sippy cups so I still use it for those too but I throw the blender ball in there too. If you are really frustrated, I would say go check it out in the baby isle as I'm sure it's not more than 10 or 15 dollars. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  12. I will be having surgery on Thursday at Unity with Dr. Johnson. I am getting excited but not nervous as I have already had a band installed and removed before. I pretty much know what to expect both after surgery and liquid diet afterwards. I would be interested in a meetup if anybody else is as well. I know I need to get to the hospital support group because I think I will have better success this time around. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  14. I am June 6th at unity hospital in fridley, MN. I am way too excited! I had my band removed in November last year so I am ready to go! I have already had my gall bladder removed and 2 surgeries from my band so I pretty much know what to expect. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  15. I am also a revision from Lap-Band. I had my Lap-Band put in January 2011 and it was taken out at the end of November 2012 because it had slipped. I too could not get any solids down. I lost 75 lbs after surgery and regained 60 lbs within a 6 month period (bread is the devil!). I am now on my pre-op diet and will be having surgery on June 6th. I am so excited for this new start in my weight loss journey! Sent from my iPhone using VST

  17. I am June 6th too!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  18. I started my pre-op diet a week early as well and it has been a little rough. I am super hungry and find myself a little grumpier. Ugh, I'm sure my husband and kids will understand that this is temporary. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  19. I have 2-3 Protein shakes a day and then a lean cuisine for dinner. I am also going cold turkey off of coffee so this is making for a very grumpy girl right now. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  20. My surgery date is June 6th and I am nothing but excited! I had my Lap-Band taken out 5 1/2 months ago and have gained a considerable amount of weight since then. I started my pre-op diet today (a week early) and I'm pretty hungry but it will all be worth it! I am also addicted to watching youtube videos.
