Day 5 of pre-op diet....
- Day 5 of pre-op diet....
I'm October 1st! My preop is strictly liquid with the exception of SF popsicles & SF Jello. Today is by far the toughest day I've had. I'm not at work, we're running errands, soccer later, etc. I just want food because I do, not because I'm hungry. I will NOT cave!! I will do this because it's a better quality of life for me! I have no doubts, like I said just want it.- October in Oklahoma!
My liquid diet started today & I have a stomach bug... that should make it easier... right?- October in Oklahoma!
I had my initial with Katsis and then had to schedule a colonoscopy. I didn't get in a hurry for that since I knew I wouldn't be able to take off until October. My colonoscopy was Sept 4 and they submitted my PreD that Friday. Once I knew it was approved I called Katsis and scheduled. I had tentatively scheduled anyway so I could ask for my time at work. All I'm waiting on is my preop and surgery.- October in Oklahoma!

I started my process in June and was actually ready for surgery in August but put it off until I could get more time off at work. They will move as fast/slow as you want to, depending on insurance requirements, they've got it down to an art with their processes. Keep me posted!- October in Oklahoma!
Awesome! I start my liquid diet Tuesday so I'll try to post updates as often as possible. Where in OK are you? I'm going through Bailey Bariatric in Owasso.- October in Oklahoma!
Oct 1 in OK! SW 258 CW 239 GW 150 I can't wait! I'm calling it Me Day! I was a little nervous until about 6 weeks ago when my 8 year old & I were talking about it & I explained what type of surgery I'm having (my mom had it about 2 1/2 years ago so he's familiar). He's is extremely excited because I will finally be able to get in the floor & play cars with him & play outside with him! That day, that conversation, confirmed my decision & I haven't been nervous since. I know I'm making the right choice, not only for me, but for my family as well.- October 5th d day for gastric sleeve 2013

PreD Approved!!!! I'm so excited! 20 days and counting!- Any Oklahoma Sleevers
My predetermination of medical necessity has been submitted & I called to check on it yesterday. I was told they denied due to requesting proof of 2 co-morbid conditions that have not responded to medical treatment. I questioned why when my BMI was at the 40+ requirement. She looked at the paperwork & the surgeon leader was the first page & stated my BMI was 39. When she looked at the next page it had it listed correctly so she sent it back through for review with that note. I am now anxious about it going through again. I've been so positive through all of this & refuse to let this little bump bring me down! I know it happens all the time & that people hit much bigger bumps than mine but it still bugs me a little.- Any Oklahoma Sleevers
At this time, 30 days from now I will be in the hospital recovering from my procedure! I'm so excited! I have no nerves at all about the actual procedure. I have my colonoscopy this Wednesday & I am absolutely dreading it!
