  1. Well, everything is starting to feel real, all the tests done, meetings done and tomorrow I start my 2 week preop diet. I actually started drinking some shakes last week for breakfast each morning. Tomorrow though, it starts for real and I couldn't be more excited about it! 2 weeks from today I will have my surgery and can't wait! I am definately looking forward to my new life and all it has to offer! Then, 3 weeks after mine, my wife will be having hers. That makes it even better!!
  2. It was a piece of cake for both of us. It really sank in that this was the first major step in our journey. We have had the meetings, the appointments and all, but this was the first real step towards our procedure. It's a great feeling.
  3. Well, I am headed out for my Endoscope appointment! Then, my wife has hers done this afternoon. Things are just falling into place and that is great. We are both extremely excited about this new journey together. Hard to believe I am 1 month and 11 days away from surgery!
  4. Congrats!!! August 19th here!
  5. I purchased some of them yesterday to have as shakes quick and easy at work rather than the powders which I will use at home. The vanilla bean was good..my wife liked the strawberry and crème but I didn't care for it. Our Dr. really pushes the Bariatric Advantage brand, (sure he gets a kick back) but I haven't decided which one yet.
  6. I love this. My surgery is August 19th and I will be following these guidelines for sure. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Congrats! I am scheduled for August 19th and my wife is scheduled for September 9th. We are very excited.
  8. Great job so far! Congrats!!
  9. Lower food cost is definately a plus. I have already started adjusting my grocery buying habits and I am still about 7 weeks out from my sleeve.
  10. Give them a call...get the ball rolling. Just don't give up.
  11. LOL...a sleeve sister!
  12. Thanks for the heads up! Will definately take advantage of this.
  13. Even more great news! My wife got her call...she has been approved as well!! So I will be having mine done in August and then she will be having hers in Sept. We are both extremely excited! Even having a date of sorts and having our Upper GI's done the same day...lol
  14. Great article. Thanks for the heads up!
  15. Yep...it's a piece of cake! You might have a sore throat for a little while but no big deal.
  16. I thought I would kick off the fun for August Sleevers! So here we go!! I am scheduled for Monday August 19th! Let the countdown begin!!
  17. WHO DAT BABY!!!!!
  18. After almost 3 weeks of waiting, I got the call from the Dr's office today!! I am approved for surgery! Already scheduled it for August 19th! WOO HOO!!! Let the countdown begin!
  19. Congrats and get some rest.
  20. Thanks for the info and actually, I called the Dr's office shortly after making my post and they still showed it as pending. She called me back a little later and said that she contacted insurance and they should hopefully have everything and an answer in the next day or so. I was hoping to have surgery the week after July 4th, but unless I get approved and start the pre-op diet by Saturday, I am going to have to wait til Aug. Atleast I will have a date then though. I really don't see July happening though. We shall see.
  21. Well, I sit here patiently waiting for insurance approval. It was submitted 2 weeks ago. I know it was submited because the RN for United Healthcare called to go over some pre and post op info with me. Even asked me when my surgery date was in which I replied, "I don't know, do you know something I don't?" No answer for that question. I have United Healthcare so not sure how long it will take, but the wait is killing me!! If I had hair I would have pulled it all out by now.
