TMI - explosive diarrhea days after surgery?
Yep, I'm 12 days post-op and have it. I noticed it's better for me though when I'm not drinking the protien shakes or having any Soup with heavy cream (like cream of tomato, which of course, is my favorite lol). But, it still happens. I hope it stops soon I'm not on puree until Monday. The doc an NUT wanted me to stay on full liquids for 2 weeks..

Heating Pad?
I was told using my heating pad wasn't a good idea (that the heat can radiate toward the belly...or something of the sort lol).... Does anyone know anything about this?

First time going out for dinner
Potatoes aren't part of the whole "no bread/starch" thing for a few months, are they? Im confused lol

Hungry after eating!?

Sugar-free frozen yogurt on pureed stage?
I've discovered the frozen Yoplat greek yogurt...it's really good! I'll have to try some chocolate frozen yogurt (from a place like fro yo) at some point They have the fat free kind you can get too..

2 days post op and feel like poop! Also, have questions
I totally understand and relate. The first week is horrible (I'm only on day 10 myself, so it's getting better...just not quite there yet). I had growling and though it may be hunger too. Just be sure to try to get your Protein in if you can and walk. Even small steps pacing back and forth if you need to. Crushing meds is awful! I tried that too and just could NOT get them down LOL So, I cut them really small and swallow them. It takes a few times through out the day to get them all down, but at least they are getting in. If you're sleepy then sleep! Your body is healing and needs the rest to recover. Just remember "This too shall pass..." Hang in there! *hugs*

Southern California (Ventura County)
oh cool! It looks like you have some experience with the sleeve at this point too Can I ask questions along the way? hehe
-
Southern California (Ventura County)
I know this is probably a long shot, but is there anyone around the Ventura County area? I would love to have someone else to talk to out here and possibly go on walks with and such

Seriously? Does everyone exercise?
If you have an Xbox Kinect, the "Just dance" and such videos are SO much fun! I used to take Jazz dancing (11 years....not as limber anymore lol), and it's a lot like that and hip hop. Best part...nobody can see you doing it

Tea
I've been drinking some tea too...with some Splenda

Cheated on my post-op diet today...OMG! Will I die!?
I relate. I'm 10 days post op now and sooo tired of the full liquids LOL But...there's a saying I keep having run through my mind, "Don't give up what you want most for what you want now." It helps me stay on track

Question for the sleevers over 6 months +
Hmmm...that's one for the whey and one not for it. Guess I'll just try it LOL Ertlandia, that's a lot that you can't tolerate still! That's my worry. I'm hoping down the line my stomach will be able to tolerate more and I won't end up regretting getting it...

Question for the sleevers over 6 months +
Has anyone tried New Whey protein? The one that comes in the tube? Do you dilute that or pour it over ice? How does it taste?
-
Question for the sleevers over 6 months +
Thanks for the suggestions! I have the Premier since it's 30 grams in one little carton, but that has me running to the bathroom too. I guess I'll just keep trying different ones...

Question for the sleevers over 6 months +
I'm still on full liquids until Monday when I start the puree stage. I have my Soup, pudding and Jello too. My stomach seems to not like the Protein shakes..and I'm thinking the creamy Soups are a problem. Thank God I'm not vomiting, but I am "dumping". I'm not sure what to do about the Protein Drink issue...not sure how else to get the Proteins in? It's good to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel...

Question for the sleevers over 6 months +
I'm at 9 days post op right now and having some issues with my tummy not appreciating certain foods LOL My question is...did any of you experience this in the beginning and can now eat what you couldn't stomach then? Are you able to eat pretty much anything now? Or is this something I will have to live with for the rest of my life?
-
"Dumping" Syndrom?
It happens after my Protein shakes too. What do you do to get your protein if you can't stomach the shakes?
-
"Dumping" Syndrom?
Yeah I'm thinking maybe it's the cream soups. That sucks because my food is so limited for now. I'll try a day without it and see how it goes...*fingers crossed*

"Dumping" Syndrom?
Sorry for the TMI LOL But, the past few days I've been having dumping syndrom. If it's not called that for the sleeve, I'm not sure what to call it? It happens after every 'meal' (I'm only 9 days post op....so a meal would be Soup, pudding, Jello, etc..lol) How long does this last? It would make it hard to go to the weddings I have to be at this weekend
-
post op clear liquid diet how long?
I'm on day 9 post-op and been on full liquid since I had the sleeve done. I guess each doctor is different, so I would call and ask them, or contact your nutritionist and ask...
-
Anyone try these?
That Isopure from GNC is all I drank pre-op. I would put flavoring (Mio, crystal light, etc..) in it to make it more enjoyable LOL Or, put it in a blender with some ice to trick yourself into thinking its a slushy I have the New whey also, but haven't tried it. Let me know what you think
-
Not a happy little tummy :(
When did your "dumping" (hope this isn't too TMI LOL) stop? It seems like anytime I drink or eat (if Soup, pudding, etc is eating that is...) now
-
Woke up this morning feeling icky...
I'm 9 days post-op and had a couple hard days the past couple days too. Mainly 'dumping' and just not feeling well. I think it's just the body adjusting...
