  1. That's GREAT!! FOUR POUNDS is a BIG loss for one week!! Sometimes I don't even lose that much in one MONTH!! Congrats!! Great reward, too! WONDERFUL!! You've all got me thinking, planning and scheming about what my 100 lb reward should be!!! Hope to be there soon! I like techy stuff! I bought a Nintendo DS this past summer to play Sudoku on! And I got new holes in my ears when my Lucky #7s thread went to Mall of America in July! So I could go for the diamond studs, Joann!! Yep! Probably would've gone for a hot fudge sundae in the past!
  2. Okay, I'm going to try that right now! Phyllis Hand | Facebook
  3. So he was being kind of tough on you, huh? He's right but couldve been a little more diplomatic! I have equivalent of one egg, but in a small omelet with a little skim mozarella and three small shrimp cut up in small pieces. He might think that is too much! Usually a small salad with a little tuna or some other protein for lunch. Tonight we had lean cuisines for dinner and I feel really full. There has to be some discipline with portion control, and exercise is very important, too.
  4. Wow! it's been busy here! I am suffereing from internet withdrawl... problems with the WiFi at the RV park. Didn't realize I wasn't getting posts from this thread on my Blackberry! So I just had to catch up on 3 pages of posts. So I just skimmed really, but, for those of you who don't already know, Janet (IndioGirl) called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that her baby brother passed away suddenly. She asked me to pass it on to the threads she visits most and let you all know that she's not going to be online for a while. This was totally unexpected and she's quite devastated. If anyone wants to send a card, I have her address. Just PM me and I"ll get it to you. And, please everyone keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. This is a very tough time for her. As I said, my internet access is limited right now, but I have been getting posts (excpet for this thread) and PMs on my Blackberry and can respond that way, too.
  5. Hi, All, Talked to Janet briefly today. She is very busy... coroner, attorney, police, etc. Her sister is due in this afternoon, son is already there. Family is gathering at her house this afternoon. Bronchitis was just an assumption, I think. Last anyone talked to her brother he said he wasn't feeling well and thought he had bronchitis. It is very doubtful that was the cause of his death, I would imagine. Autopsy is being done. At any rate, some on her mentor's thread were asking for her address & I had everything but... home & work numbers, and even her work address. So I now have her home address if any of you don't have it and want to send a card. Just PM me or email me and I"ll get it to you.
  6. Good morning, all! I am having internet problems and restricted to Blackberry except when I can lug my laptop to RV park library! I have lots of phone numbers for Janet, know approx where she lives in Indio, but no address. I will try to get it later today. Anyone who wants it please PM me. Welcome to newcomers. We'll try to answer your questions in Janet.s absence.
  7. Sorry to have to share this, but Janet just called and asked me to let you all know that she won't be online for a while. Her baby brother just died suddenly and she is quite devastated. He was ill briefly, apparently bronchitis but did not go to the doctor or take care of himself- no insurance, overweight, etc. Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers.
  8. We all need to keep Janet in our thoughts and prayers. She just called and asked me to let you all know that her younger brother has passed away suddenly. Only 50 yrs old. He apparently had bronchitis. Said he didn't have insurance so wouldn't go to the dr. Was in poor health, overweight, etc. She said she won't be online for a while. She's in a state of shock right now. Family is either already there or on the way.
  9. Yeah, we got here last Tues. Good to be back! I sent you a Facebook friends request. Trying to figure out how you put your Facebook link in that post!!?? Guess just search for Phyllis Hand.
  10. You betcha! God is good, ALL the time! Forgot to add..... my birthday, Nov. 25.... always Thanksgiving week and often Thanksgiving Day... I was born on Thanksgiving Day, in fact!
  11. TOO FUNNY!!! I have three sisters! Wonder what they're going to think!! I love them dearly and I know they are happy for me. One of them gave me a shirt of hers that is too short for her and it fit!!!
  12. Glad you had such a nice Thanksgiving, Candice!!
  13. Don't worry about it! Last Thanksgiving I was 4 mos. out and we were visiting with friends for the whole week. There was food every day, in great abundance. I did just fine. You will be amazed. The thing is, you can still enjoy all that good stuff on these special occassions, just in much smaller quantities. You won't even want more than a small taste of the high calorie, rich food, because you'll want to enjoy the healthy stuff. My very favorite.... mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing... I had them all... but in small amounts. Don't be sad.... you're going to be excited to see how easy it is to discipline yourself to the smaller amounts.
  14. Just jumping in here for a few minutes. WiFi still down at the RV. In fact, from what I hear, we're lucky to have it available here in the library because it's been down in the whole park. I was told they've been working on it since Friday without finding a fix! Yay! So glad I decided to pay for this service that is not available! Yippee! Wonder if they're going to credit our accounts or extend the service???? Candice, wedding arrangements.... exciting!! Sounds like you found a great place, but probably should look at a few others for comparison. I always have to make sure I'm getting a good deal by shopping around. Karri, good to hear from you again. My niece, I think she's 27 yrs, ran the 26 mile Chicago marathon yesterday. I was thinking of you when I heard about it. Last time I saw her she was looking a little "chunky" but my mom says she dropped 30 lb training for the marathon! Good talking to you yesterday, Janet. Hope you got your cable all set up okay. Okay, I'm brain dead now. Can't remember any other posts.
  15. Glad you had such a good time, Kari!!
  16. Trying to catch up on two pages of posts! Bad internet connection here in RV park where we are now settled in for the winter. It's been down for days so I'm lugging my laptop to park library a couple of times a day to do email and catch up on LBT posts, play my silly FAcebook games, etc! Seems like if you don't visit your threads every day or so you stop getting the emails! I've been able to read the posts on my Blackberry and even reply when I have the patience to type with my thumbs!! But I sure missed a lot of these 50+ posts!!
  17. Hope I didn't already comment on this!! I was just reading through the last few posts again. I think that is outrageous!! All my fills are done in radiology at the clinic where my surgeon has his office and under fluroscopy. So far it's all been covered by my insurance, but still I think the radiology charge is less than $200 and then I get charged a dr. office visit. I'll have to look up my bills again. Since it's covered, I have to admit that I don't pay a lot of attention to the amount, but I know the total is not more than about $300, if that!
  18. I have a recently acquired Facebook addiction as well! Do you play Parking Wars??? Freezer cole slaw sounds intriguing! What is that? I love cabbage any way you serve it! If you can eat that much, I'd say you probably do need a fill!
  19. Oh, Steph! So sorry to hear that! That's so sad. Hope you have a better day today. Ribearty & I have PM'ed a few times and all is well. It's pretty cool here in the desert today.... AND my internet at the RV is still broken!! They better fix it tomorrow! I need to get off here and go HOME... I'm too close to the restaurant and the smells are wonderful and I have MONEY in my purse!! Need to go home and have lunch!!
  20. Earl is doing okay today... stock market closed!! He called our inv counselor yesterday and we set up a conference call with him, but not for two weeks! My comment to his secretary.... I hope we still have some money left to talk about by then!! We are not living on that, but need it for extras... like we need a new car. Ours is a 2002 Honda CR-V. I think it's over 80,000 miles on it, but probably an additional 50,000 towed miles as it is our "toad" and gets dragged around a lot! I quote that serenity prayer a lot, but it doesn't sink in for him! I'll dance with you!! That's great! I'm solidly in to the 230's column now and that makes me happy, so you must be overjoyed to be where you are!! Yeah, we probably brought this cool weather with us!! Earl was really complaining about the heat our first couple of days here. I loved it!! I'm cold now and he still wants all the windows open! Janet... Glossy in DHS has a QVC rack of mark downs... Denim & Co. I saw a couple of cute tops there that I really liked... and I'm pretty sure the XL would fit from the looks of it. But I'd just bought a bathing suit... need to have 2, and it was so nice to buy another 18. I tried on a 20 first! NO, I really do need the 18! Earl couldn't tolerate another purchase, but he found me a cute pair of capris at the Burke Outlet before that, so I can't complain. But next time I get in there, I'm going to check out the QVC rack again. Those tops were long sleeve, so probably close outs from last year. They were marked $18.98 and 30% off everything in the store. Bathing suit cost me $35 and was marked $68. Only reason I'm on the internet is I brought my laptop over to the library where there is a different wi-fi system. I tried earlier and couldn't get it in another building. So, I"m happy. Raced my race car, moved my parking wars cars! :w00t: And played all my Scrabble turns (sisters, friends, etc). If our system doesn't come back online I'll be back here tomorrow! They're going to get a piece of my mind on Monday morning! I'm paying for WiFi at the motor home!! So I shouldn't have to lug my laptop over here to use the free one! No one in the office on the weekend to complain to!
  21. Amen, Ruby! I'm not really hiding out on the recipe threads even though my feathers got a little ruffled. Didn't think I said anything that offensive. If so, so sorry! It is possible to disagree without anger. I wore my pink "Read My Lipstick" t shirt, complete with pitbull, today which prompted a very pleasant discussion with a guy in Starbucks who turned out to be an Obama campaign volunteer! Anyway, useless RV park WiFi sucks and signal too weak all day to get email or websites! My thumbs are getting a workout typing on my Blackberry! Plain black font, no signature=Blackberry! Unfortunately, major source of my amusement is my silly games.... Scrabble and a couple I play on Facebook... Speed Racing, Parking Wars and Kidnap! I've probably been "kidnapped" by my friends a bazillion times by now... especially my daughter. Later, Chicks!
  22. Me, too! Thanks for your comments, Kari. Have a great time at your reunion!
  23. That is not right and could indicate a serious problem with your band. I'd advise you to call the surgeon's office and tell them... you need to go in ASAP and find out what's wrong!
  24. Think I'll stick to the recipe threads for a while and stay out of trouble.
  25. That's really great news!! I'm sure your doc is right about the diabetic meds! That will be wonderful! I've read that most diabetics are very quickly either off their meds, or severely reduced Rx! I am off one cholesterol pill since surgery, strength cut in half on both of my BP meds!
