  2. FIVE OF OUR TEN GRANDCHILDREN!! I HAD TO SHOW THEM OFF.
  3. Just turn a deaf ear to that junk, Sweety! She may be jealous, getting anxious for you, certainly not as informed as you, and neither is her student nurse friend! SHAKE IT OFF!!
  4. Liquid Adult tylenol is a good idea, Kathy, and Gas-X strips for gas pain.
  5. Thanks, Linda. I put a call in to the doc about the temp..just 99.2 this morning, though. The diarrhea wasn't any surprise except for the intensity and I'm not running too fast at the moment!! So sorry for the loss of that little boy. So very sad!
  6. :cry OOPS!! I guess I missed a few letters!! Sorry, Sheelagh!! Temp is gone this morning and I'm feeling better except for the runss!! Seems to me a couple of you complained about diarrhea. Is this normal?? I'm ready to be done with it!!
  7. :welcomeB: Hi, Alesha, Yes, we have a couple of people from Ireland. DINI and I'm afraid I forgot how to spell the other lady's name, Alegh or something like that I think. But Dini should be on later. She's a couple of weeks post op and she helps keep things hoppin' here!! She's the one who dubbed me "Auntie" Phyl, and we love her a lot!!
  8. RUNNING A LOW GRADE TEMP TONIGHT....100.2 :sick
  9. Phly, it gets beter, hang in there!! THANKS, NETTIE!! FEELING BETTER TONGHT. OH, I DIDN'T MENTION.... THE SCALE WENT UP AND NOT DOWN SINCE SURGERY. I'LL BE HAPPY WHEN THAT TURNS AROUND. :funscale::hurt
  10. YEAH, YOU HAD US CONFUSED, GIRL!! YOU ARE A LOVELY YOUNG LADY!!:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
  11. Hi, Dini, Yes, I'm still a little sore today. The usual..port site aches, left shoulder and neck. Then when I finally had my first poop, I got the runs something terrible for an hour or so. It quit as abruptly as it started. I'm doing a little better with liquids and protein today. I've had 40 gms of protein, 338 calories, 40 oz of sugar free stuff. Tried the peanut butter in my chocolate protein and it was a nice change. Prayers and best wishes for those being banded tomorrow. We're all in this together and it makes such a difference. Indiogirl, Glad you are doing better today. We will definitely have to get together when we come south this winter. And I'm hoping toattend some of Dr. Bobby's support group meetings.
  12. Tink, That is my struggle, too. Not getting in enough protein or liquids. I wait an hour after drinking 4 oz of protein before i drink anything else, right?? Then start on some crystal lite or something. Went too long without pain med during the night and hurting this morning.
  13. C, I quit my Diet Coke in May. I was surprised how easy it was. Its amazing how when you get some of this stuff out of your system you don't really crave it any more!! Hope that happens with potatoes and pasta!!!
  14. Denise, Don't be nervous. I was so pleased with how everything went. And after hanging out here for the last month or two, I was completely prepared.. no surprises, knew exactly what to expect. Kathy, the little one is adorable and the resemblance uncanny!! I do hope you get to go to Palm (HOT) Springs. We spend the winters near there in our RV and we LOVE it. IndioGirl lives nearby. (Hope we hear from her soon!) Don't miss the Palm Springs Aerial Tram!! Fabulous, exciting, a great experience!!
  15. You guys are the best!!
  16. Chris, We have Big Wave Dave pay us a visit every now and then, too. he lives in Hawaii and was banded a week or so ago. His wife is being banded next month. My surgery was yesterday. I am a little sore, but overall, everything went very well except for the two hour commute home through Seattle traffic!! Hydocodone helped a lot. I slept through most of it, but hubby was a little disgruntled to say the least.
  17. Hi, All! Didn't beat the afternoon commute traffic, but we were home by 6 p.m. Everything went very well and I so much appreciate all your support and well wishes. Surgery lasted about 90 minutes, they seemed to keep me a long time in recovery but I don't know why because I was doing fine. Anyways, Nurse John and I were pretty good friends by the time they moved me to a room!! Port hurts and the rest of my belly is starting to get sore so I just took a dose of my liquid Vicodin. Condo is only 900 sq ft and its pouring down rain, so I'm walking back & forth a little inside. No problem with my clear liquids. I'm sipping green tea, I've had some chicken broth, apple juice, cranberry juice. Juices seem to sweet, so diluting with water. Trying to catch up on all your posts, but after that pain med, I just want to go to sleep! :bored CAOLIN: I was done at Virginia Mason in Seattle... thus the long miserable commute to Everett this afternoon... 2 hours!! iT LOOKED KINDA LIKE THIS :faint: :car::car::car::car::car::car::car:
  18. Thanks Lynette... Just a little nervous. Will be glad when its over. Tomorrow at this time I hope to be sitting right here in my recliner sipping a cold glass of water. Prayers and well wishes to all my fellow 7/20 bandsters!!
  19. Oh, MsPris, I'm so sorry for what happened to you and you have such a good attitude about it. Will be praying for a quick recovery for you! I must admit, I'm a little more nervous about tomorrow now! We just all have to hope for the best and put it in God's hands. Dini, we're glad to hear from you again! I'm doing good! We went out to lunch today & had my "last supper"... my favorite, Spaghetti & meat balls! AND a glass of wine. :hungry:
  20. We haven't heard from Dini today?? And I wonder how IndioGirl is doing. Who else that was banded this week have we not heard from yet?? A guy in the chat room had some real good articles to share last night. He said that anyone who would like email copies, send him an email with "lapband" in the subject line. One is a 12 yr study, the other just a good explanation of the surgery. tomander@rogers.com
  21. Kathy: What's the difference between sushi and sashami?? I LOVE sushi, but don't think I've had sashami.
  22. Phyl, I'm going to look for that syrup when I go to Krogers. What foods did you find it next too, or in what area? Lynette: Usually in the coffee aisle.
  23. A sample bottle of the sugar free Raspberry flavoring came in my sample protein pack from bariatriceating.com. But I've seen them in Safeway, Albertson's and most local grocery stores. The flavors are usually limited, though, and I'm hoping I can find the Raspberry because that Chocolate/Raspberry Protein drink was wonderful!! They usually have Sugar Free Vanilla, Hazlenut, Caramel, Irish Cream and a few others.
  24. Did you say you get that Jay robb protein at WalMart?? I forgot & I'm sure its about a million pages back!
