  1. Hey, Peaches & Kathybad.... and anyone else who is interested, someone just sent me an email about the "smallest house in Toronto" currently on the market. Pictures are pretty interesting. If you want me to forward it to you, PM me with your preferred email address. It's a pretty cute little house. Interesting pictures.
  2. And then wash it down with a glass of wine!! LOL... No, I didn't really say that, did I???? Dh says I'm having a bitchy day!! Still not feeling great so I guess I'm a little cranky!
  3. Well, this is just me, but I'd see if they'd give you a date. You can always cancel and reschedule. I say that because I had one doctor's office tell me there was a 3 year wait for Medicare patients!! Then, the one I went to, they kept trying to put me off until I got a little pushy about it. Then they came up with a "cancellation"! LOL
  4. Yeah, if you've done all your preliminaries, once they get their approval, it shouldn't take long at all. Do you know if they have others waiting for that approval as well?? If they have an anticipated date that they will be approved, maybe they'll give you a tentative surgery date. Can always cancel & reschedule. Just a thought.
  5. Thanks, Brandy! I do have a good time down here in the desert!! I love it down here!
  6. Okay... now I need to know what are CORNELL NOTES AND PERIODIC TABLES????? Dini, Your pictures are great!! I looked at them on your website last night. You are SOOOO young!! "Auntie Phyl" could be your GRANDMOTHER!! I feel so old now! LOL So sorry you had such a bummer of an experience in NYC. My oldest daughter and granddaughter went for a couple of days last summer and one of my sisters, Barb, went with them. Barb moves at about the same pace as your friend does! And she did not bring walking shoes with her, so her feet were hurting and she couldn't keep up. GD, Alisha, is 17 yrs old and she is a GOER!! She had an agenda of things she wanted to see and do, like finding the guys that sell fake Coach purses, etc. and, from what I was told, Barb was quite miserable and Alisha was frustrated! They did have a good time, though, and managed to fit in everything on Alisha's schedule. NYC really is a neat place, so it's too bad you had such a frustrating time! Indian men are male chauvenists!! They were probably pissed because you thought it was okay for two gals to be traveling unaccompanied.
  7. Don't forget Morongo!! My favorite! I like to play slots but DH usually only lets me have $20!! Why bother! When I go to NY I go with my sisters to Seneca Niagara (in Niagara Falls) and play slots. I like to go to Morongo on Thurs. nights when they have seafood buffet! $7.77 if you put $10 in the slots! But I found out you can put the $10 in, play a couple of times and cash out!! I'm so bad!! LOL I don't really like the slots at Morongo. I never win anything.... or see anyone else winning anything!
  8. One of our son-in-laws thought that he wanted to be a teacher. He didn't even make it through student teaching before he was completely disillusioned... parents too much in control... "my kid is failing because you didn't teach him right", etc. Now he works for Microsoft making probably 3X what he ever would have made teaching. Too bad because he would've been a good one. School just AIN'T what it was when I was growing up!!!
  9. If I got up that early, I'd be lookin' for coffee about now, too!! If I were a little closer, I'd bring you a Starbucks... SF and Fat Free, of course!! :ranger:
  10. :welcome2::welcomeB::welcome2: Hi, Jaymie, what you are feeling is completely normal! don't be grieving the food... some of that stuff you love, you won't even want anymore, and you'll find it's no big deal. I eat whatever i want to eat, just in much, much smaller portions than I used to. The only thing you might have to give up is bread and I can actually eat a little, if I want to, but I don't usually want it. We'll be praying for you. You won't be sorry you did this!
  11. Good plan. You'll be much happier!
  12. I am impressed!! That is EARLY in the morning! :clap2::clap2::clap2: You've been preparing yourself for those tamales and cookies for WEEKS!! You'll do fine! You've got a plan and you're stickin' to it!! :hungry:
  13. I was 63 when I had my surgery in July. My 5 month Bandiversary is later this week and I"m down 55 lb. No complications whatsoever. It's been smooth sailing from day one. Best of luck! Keep us posted.
  14. We've missed you, Dini!! Glad you had time to stop by and fill us in a bit! Do tell us why NYC was so disappointing for you. So sorry to hear that. I know how you were looking forward to it!!
  15. What a neat collage of pictures! How did you do that??? We were waiting for you to come back, Denise!!
  16. Yeah, this is an excellent support group! I crashed one in WA. It was another doctor's, but I was invited by another bandster I'd met. So I just avoided the weigh in line and pretended like I belonged there. But there was very little time for sharing with one another... too big of a group. But I think they were all bandsters. The one I"m supposed to go to is too far away, too...like 60 miles!
  17. Wonderful!! What progress you've made!! That's great!
  18. I enjoy watching the snow on TV!! Glad I'm not up there in Buffalo where I was born!! Yuck! I just hope my mother has the sense to stay inside today! There is going to be a bandsters bash in Seattle in Feb (Seattle Splash). Wish it was going to be in the spring or summer so I could go. We ought to throw a bash down here in the desert, huh, Janet??!!
  19. Isn't that weird!!?? Last night after I posted them, I couldn't see them either so I posted them again. Then I closed my browser and came back to see if they were there and they were there twice! I can still see them both on pg 489 and pg 490. I have yet to master the art of posting photos on this board. Someone tried to tell me to post them on Photobucket first and then add them per the url using the little picture icon above. But I couldn't get that to work and I consider myself fairly computer savy. It's beginning to get frustrating. I don't know what the answer is.
  20. sorry! Pictures wouldn't show up and now they're there TWICE! Tried to delete one entry to no avail!
  21. Had my picture taken with Santa this morning before our Christmas Golf Cart Parade... DH decorated my scooter so I could ride in the parade!! HO HO HO!
  22. Wow! Kari! That's great!! You're looking good!!
  23. OH, my!! I’m wearing JEANS today!! I have this pair… well, capris, really, but on me they come to my ankles!! I bought them several years ago…. I mean, about 3 or 4 years ago. They were 3x but in jeans, I should’ve known they wouldn’t fit. So every time I lost a few pounds I’d try them on… too snug. When we moved from OK last year I got rid of most of my clothes that were too tight, even if they were new and never worn! But those I loved because they have little flowers embroidered on the cuffs and I still had hope….maybe one day!! So I tried them on after a month or so on the pre=op diet…. Still too snug, but I could get them on. Then I tried them on two months post-op…. still too snug, but better. Could’ve gotten away with it, but would’ve been uncomfortable. So I tried them on this morning…. Baggy!! Had to roll down the waist band. I’m mad that I waited too long, but I’ll be able to wear them for a while. DH has decorated my electric scooter and I’m wearing them in the “Golf Cart” Christmas parade this morning! This morning's weight..... 271.4
  24. May 2007 - Start of Pre-op Diet Dec. 14, 2007 - down 55 lb.
