  1. OMG!!! I just played Wi with my 11 yr old granddaughter!! What fun! Have any of you played??? First i had to build my "Wi Me"... I picked a blonde spike hairdo, sunglasses, purple top and red pants!! Sound like me??? Then I had to set my "Wi Age" by playing a little baseball, tennis, bowling. I did pretty good (I thought) at tennis & bowling, missed most of the baseballs but the ones I hit were homeruns!! But it said my "Wi Age" was 77!!! Not good!! So then I challenged DGD to a round of bowling. I was ahead most of the game but at the end she got about 3 strikes in a row and beat me by 9 pins!! So then I wanted to play tennis.. I was pretty good at the tryout thingy. But, she started, so she was serving first and I couldn't get the timing of when to swing for the ball!! So she beat me miserably. Should I mention her skill level is 849 & mine is ZERO.. and no one here will play with her because she's built her skill level up by playing solo with the computer! We played a few more games but it was disastrous. I think I will stick to bowling. I was pretty good at that until she started getting all those strikes!! I didn't play for an hour, but it was a good workout and I may take credit for an exercise session today!! Especially if we play again later!! Now I want one!!
  2. Sounds like you're recovery is going fairly well. Glad you're out and about, but better not overdo!! I'm not the backseat driver. .. I AM THE CO-PILOT!! First thing in the morning DH sets up my command and control center on the dashboard! My laptop is there, GPS plugs in to USB port and I navigate using MS Streets & Trips! The only squabbles we have come when he wants me to look at a PAPER MAP!! Gimmee a break!! I'm a techy grandma and I HATE paper maps! By the time I find the right page in the Atlas, I've taken my eyes off the road for so long that if we were about to make a wrong turn, it's too late! And the print is too small to see anyway!! With my laptop, I can zoom in so close I can see where the ATMs are!! For real!! I do a good job of keeping DH informed of where we are and how far to the next turn, exit, or whatever! And when we get lost, he gets to blame it on me!! Which he would do anyway, so I may as well take the heat voluntarily!
  3. Just arrived at our son's in Mountain View. I was about to post this morning when I got kicked offline. . I think because DH had plugged in my GPS!
  4. It took me a while, but i tracked down what happened and Medicare told me that the hospital coded it to automatically deny. They told me to call the hospital and tell them to resubmit it with the correct code. But when I did that, the hospital told me not to worry about it... they wrote it off and my balance was $0???? Go figure!!!! And I have not been billed for any of my fills or followup appointmnets!??
  5. Well, there is a tutorial somewhere on this site but I can never find it. If you click on where it says "tickerfactory.com" on my signature it will take you to their site. Set up your ticker and then copy the "bbc code". Come back here and click on edit profile, then in the left hand margin you will see "Edit Signature". Click on that and paste the bbc code into the box that pops up. The sparkly names come from another site and you do about the same thing but I think it's called something besides bbc code on that site... it gives you a couple of options. I found out which one was right by trial and error. Hope that helps!
  6. At Flying J truck stop filling up ($125 and we weren't anywhere close to empty!!), having lunch (tuna sandwich!! )and then moving on. We were going to stop in this area for the night, but too early yet. Maybe about 2pm. Gotta go... trying to get my $5 worth of internet time!! Mail won't download and having trouble getting Lucky 7 page to load!!
  7. Good Morning! I am amazed.... DH is taking his time this morning! I figured we'd be on the road by now! He's still puttering around in the kitchen. I think it's going to be closer to 9-9:30 a.m. before we get out of here! Only going about 200 miles today, so that's okay. We don't like to do much more than that in a day anyway. I will have to try that spaghetti squash again. Tried it once a year or so ago....DH did not like cutting it & cooking it! Nichole....looking good!! Trace Adkins.... I have a crush on him, too, since Celebrity Apprentice!! Seems like a really nice guy... I couldn't stand that other guy! Hmmmm... I may have to get Adobe Photo Shop!! Very kind memories of Aunt Genny from one on my nephews this morning... all the kids associate Aunt Genny with their Lime Lake cottage.. They all learned to fish down there, learned to water ski, etc and just had a great time with their cousins, etc at Aunt Genny's cottage... and she loved it when we all brought our kids down there. We had many "slumber parites" with kids stacked 3 high on the sofa beds! the men would always stay away!! Our youngest daughter is planning a trip back "home" with her family this summer and one of her first questions.... "can we take the kids down to Aunt Genny's cottage?" Yes.... I made my exercise challenge for the 2nd month in a row!! Well, I gotta get off the computer... all of a sudden things are happening...the slides will be coming in on me if I don't move soon!! TTYL... on the road!!
  8. Yeah, the wind is blowing and it's COLD! Only 45 this morning... 49 now. Sad morning for me as my Mom called to tell me my Aunt Genny died this morning. I knew it was a long shot, but was hoping she'd hold on until summer so I could see her one more time. She was kinda my "other" Mom. But, she wouldn't want me to be sitting on the couch bawling this morning, so, though my heart's not in it, I gotta get ready for water aerobics! TTYL
  9. Good Morning! I could use some prayer support today. My favorite Aunt Genny died this morning & I'm feeling so bad. She's been suffering with cancer for 3 years, so it's a blessing I guess. But having a hard time with it. Can't get back east for the funeral as we're in our RV about to head north tomorrow. Worried about my Mom, too... her only sister. She's 85 1/2 and her sister was younger...says she wasn't supposed to die first. Thanks, gang.
  10. Maybe I'll get a sun AND a palm tree AND a diamond in my nose!!! :scared2::tt1::sad::tt1::wink:
  11. I kinda skimmed over that article. ... guess I better go back and read it again!!
  12. What about tattoos????? :thumbup::confused::eek::confused::eek:
  13. Well, we could be like the Biggest Loser guys ... remember they went to Vegas for the weekend and they all got tattoos???? We could get tattoos on the Mall of America weekend!!! DH would absolutely KILL me!!!:drool: Janet, I can tell you for sure that we are not going ANYWHERE until the wind quits!!! It's horrible! DH is packing/stowing things a little bit each day. Today the outdoor carpets were folded up and put away because they've been blowing all over the place anyways! Weather Channel website says it's supposed to quit by 8pm TOMORROW night! We DO NOT drive the RV in wind like this! Went shopping today.. last trip to the COD Street Fair for this season.. bought a cotton knit capri set.. lavendar, with embroidered flowers! Pretty! But it won't due in the cold up north..not before about July! And I bought two more bras/5 undies at Lane Bryant again! Stripes (apple green, turquoise, yellow, white, teal... and swirly dots (turquoise & blue..like this font) ... probably would not pass Janet's "age appropriate" test! DH wants to know what will happen if I wear a white top????? Easy answer... you will probably see stripes or swirly dots!! Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend! Jackie.... that was a GREAT post!
  14. Hey, Lynn..... How are you doing?? Hope all went well! Waiting for an update. God Bless!
  15. Great picture!! What a darling baby!! I'm like Janet... never been shy of the camera even at my highest weight! I treasure the memories captured in all our family photos! Love to look at them over & over. I now have TWO of those digital photo frames with slide shows going all the time, even here in the RV!! One is scenery... from various trips we've taken, etc. The other is all family photos! Love it! Great report, Peaches!! Definitely had you on my mind this morning and so happy to hear it went so well!! I've been watching that story of the two girls on the Today Show all week. Will probably watch the whole thing on Dateline tonight, too. It's so exciting to see you've gone over 100 lb loss!!! WOW!! That's great! It's really encouraging!! I have to lose another 100+ and it seems so far away! Have a GREAT weekend & enjoy the wedding! I'll let you know when I can cross my legs!! :waytogo: Right now I'm just thrilled with how easy it is to cut my toenails!! :tt1: BTW.... it's snowing like crazy in the Seattle/Everett area right now!! Just talked to our oldest daughter. She was checking on our condo because a neighbor called to say the ladies next door and upstairs were complaining because something in our condo was beeping all night and they couldn't sleep!! Battery on our hot water heater leak detector was dead!! We didn't even know we had a leak detector on the hot water heater! And now that we know about the snow, we REALLY don't want to go home!!
  16. My thinking was that I would probably need about 3 fills to get me to the right amount of restriciton before I left. Most doctors won't do the first one until about 6 weeks post-op. I had my surgery 7/20, first fill 9/10, second one on 10/8 and another on 10/29. Have you talked with your doctor about what he would recommend?
  17. I was a little nervous about taking off in the RV just a little more than three months after my surgery. I was afraid I'd need a "fill" and have to fly home or find a place down here to have it done. But, I've done fine... weight loss has slowed down the past two months, but I'm down about 25 lb since we left, a total of a little over 70 lb since I started this journey. I go in on the 14th of next month... as soon as we get back to WA.
  18. Welcome!! We are RVers also. We are just about to end our winter in the Palm Springs area and head home to WA state. Would love to hear more about where you've been.
  19. I am getting weepy about leaving with only 5 days left here!! I love it here so much. And then I got an email from one of our daughters saying there was snow on her back deck last night! I don't need to know that! All it took was DH's question this morning, "what did we say we were going to do today??" and the tears started!! Go figure!! I can't fit in all the things I wanted to do this winter and didn't in 5 days! So, we're going out for dinner! We will keep in touch by email & LBT, Janet! It has been nice knowing you are close by! Karri, great news you shared! You're looking great! Congrats on the marriage decision.. good move. And your reaching goal!! Each one's successes keeps us all going... especially me... I have another 100 lb + to go!! Can't remember what else I was going to say! Glad things are looking better, Steph! Glad you're back online, Janet!
  20. Hi, Thanks for the compliments, gals! No more Wal-Mart haircuts down here for me!! And tonight my oldest daughter said she found a good beautician in OUR neighborhood, too, so I'll have to try her out when we're home, next time I need a haircut. Got an email from Janet a while ago. She's having trouble getting LBT to load tonight. Wonder if anyone else is having trouble. It's been fine for me.
  21. Wow! What a difference! You are really looking great!!
  22. Got my hair highlighted and styled.... this is it, slightly windblown!!
  23. You are absolutely right. I read your "rants" and I felt like a cheerleader thinking, "YOU GO GIRL!!" And, whatever we are going through in our personal lives, not only do we care about one another, but just about everything in our lives has an effect on our "food issues"!! That's just the way we are wired! No one ever need apologize for posting something they feel is "unrelated" to our commonalities, because it's all a part of who we are and it does matter to us when one of our "band sisters" is having a rough time over whatever!! I am SO happy to be back online again!! Hope it lasts this time!! I so much miss my LBT when I can't communicate or read your posts!! Oh... I got a new hair cut today and highlights and it feels SO good! Didn't tell DH about the highlights until I was on my way home!! HEE HEE!! He would've tried to talk me out of it and I LOVE it. Blonde blends in nicely with my spattering of gray! I'm going to try and post a new picture because I made him go outside with me and take a picture when I got back to the RV. I wish I could find a beautician this good at home... best haircut I ever had, I think. I like my hair short, and she did an excellent job.
  24. I LIKE the way you do business!!
