  1. I'm so glad to hear from you. I was beginning to think no one went to her. Was your experience good...like the hospital and the procedure? 80 pounds is fabulous..how much are you trying to lose? I'm looking at 100....I hope I can do it...it all seems so complicated? What about your hair...still have it? Sorry for the 20 questions.
  2. I worry I won't be able to do it either. Since it's now the end of April....I guess you have had yours. Is it worth the worry. How has your weight loss gone.
  3. The surgeon doesn't do them...but they should have a list of who does. My barriatric center hospital had one but also offered a few others in the area. But get it done ASAP because they sometimes have things they want you to do before your surgery or in my case before the insurance would approve it. I had to attend 4 support groups and my family had to attend 1 or 2. Some people had to attend nutrition classes. And I've heard if the psych eval person thinks your crazy you have to do more. Lol. I'm waiting on insurance approval now.
  4. I think that pickle is fine. I'm going to a big barriatric center hospital and they don't do any pre opt diet at all. So it's not vital for the surgery.
  5. Does any one have dr. Cacucci.. How was she?
  6. Did you feel the the hospital was too outdated? Was it clean? And how much pain were you in after the surgery? Thanks for sharing. pS...what was your bmi?
  7. I think a lot of it is age also. A group was talking about it in support group. I have heard Medicare doesn't require the 3 to 6 month diets like most of the insurance. Have you seen the NUT at Carmel.....I really like mine.
  8. Yea it does take time. I started in January. I am stressing. I read on the papers from the Carmel center that they did a stress test..and required a mammogram and pap sear.......and now you say the upper GI also....I guess they want to be very sure. So the upper GI isnt a scope? Are you going through insurance? I guess I will try breathing now...lol
  9. Did you like him.....he seems soooo nice and knowledgeable about the sleeve. Was it a good experience? How much have you lost? I like dr Alvarez because he does the staples and sutures. That just makes good sense to me.
  10. Did you have the sleeve yet. My favorite Mexico doc is Alvarez. I really want to go to him. I have insurance and they won't pay for Mexico. I think he is really good from my research.
  11. Hi...I'm Roxanne.....I'm going through Carmel too. My last NUT vist is Monday. I'm ready. What does the pre op tests consist of? And what is the medical history on may 10th? Have they said how long your surgery date is from the may 10th visit. The support group lady said the surgeries take 2 or 3 months to get. I don't want to wait that long. I was hoping for early June.
  12. I too am with Cigna AND have my last Nut visit on 4/22/13. I am in Indiana. I will be interested to compare the two. I don't know how long it will take for me to get an apt. With my surgeon once I get insurance approval. My insurance girl said the more you have wrong (apnea, diabetics, HBP, arthritis, ect.....) the better off you are with approval. Let's keep up with each other on this.
  13. Cacucci. Have u heard of her? How much are you wanting to loose? I'm going for 100....that just sounds sooooooo out of reach.
