  1. I was just at the supplement shop close to my house and he had some bagels that had 30g of protein in them!!
  2. I completely understand where you are coming from! I am there at just 2 weeks out. Sometimes I get so hungry but I'm afraid to damage my stomach and I can't handle most puréed. Granted I lost 17lbs in 5 days ( I didn't start losing till one week post-op) and I'm super happy about it but I'm like you I mourn food. But I also know like anything else in life it will get better and I will learn to adapt to my situation. I hope things get easier for you
  3. I'm sure your back is happy to see the girls fade away
  4. I was sleeved July 10 and I'm in no way ready to eat but I'm curious when did you all feel you could eat "real" food? I understand the small portions I just was curious as to when you could eat a meal.
  5. Hi everyone! I was sleeved July 10. I was cleared for purée but I can't seem to eat anything, is this normal? I will tell you guys my day and see if some veterans can guide me Morning: 4oz of Protein shake Snack: sugar free banana pop Lunch: 3 baby bites of pintos n cheese Snack: 2 sips of juice (wouldn't go down) Dinner: 4 bites of a scrambled egg with cheese. When I say bites I'm using a baby spoon and I Just can't handle anymore food. My stomach growls so sip Water bc it won't let me eat. I don't want to mess up someone please tell me if this is right. Thanks
  6. Thank you all for your concern. I know that I could have died and that's very scary but thank the god lord he allowed me to have another day. I know I could probably sue but what would that really change, it was an accident. I don't think he intentionally meant to harm me. I am not a vengeful person and I requested the surgery with all the risk. I am going to see him this week to discuss what happened and where the blood went and came from, I was a bit to loopy in the hospital to have a direct conversation. I did have blood work completed prior to surgery. I will also discuss with him the nurses who appeared to be just worried about getting a discharge and ask him that he amend his practice of doing post-op labs. I did have my o2 sat, and Bp check periodically through the night but I only bottomed out saturation when I was sat and giving pain meds. I really appreciate everyone's concern and by no means am I trying to scare anyone into not having surgery. Like they say its 1 in 1000 odds and well someone has to be that 1 :-) just thank The Lord he was watching over me!
  7. No, he doesn't know where my blood went too. Which is worry some. I have a follow up Monday and I'm going to ask that he investigate this closer. He only found out about the blood loss the next day when I passed out as the nurses tried to make me stand.
  8. Yes, I'm ten days out and already on puréed but I was on that by the 3rd day although I have not been able to eat any purée only yogurt, jello, and Popsicles. I have taken myself back to the liquid stage bc I know my body best and its not ready for puréed lol
  9. I know, It's very crazy! I'm feeling much better I just wish sipping was easier.
  10. Oh I don't know why it is showing under that other name? It's me need2bethin!
  11. I had mine laparoscopic and no he didn't go back in. The blood loss had to be from the surgery and removal if my stomach. They said they expected I would develop a rectal bleed or something but nothing appeared. He gave me a transfusion and potassium for several days, then sent me home. I also agree bad things happen to good doctors and good people. I am very grateful that my husband was very persistent some what rude with the nurses in order to make them listen. So the mystery is where did the blood go?! If it was in surgery it should be charted, and if it was in my abdomen then why did I not develop a distended abdomen or anything....very weird... Maybe someone has an answer.
  12. I'm in the puréed stage and might I add it is horrible! I just want to stay in liquids and Popsicles till my stomach heals. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am trying to drink my protein but its super hard. Also I tried the purée chicken salad tonight and I think my sleeve tried crawling out of my throat. It hurt so bad. So I'm at a lost for what I can eat. I can't to cottage cheese...ugh...the thought if eating that makes me nauseous! Please help friends!
  13. Ugh!! I tried purée chicken tonight and I felt like my Stevie sleevie was going to crawl up my throat and choke me!! I had no idea something could ever be so painful!
  14. I tried the cookies n creme isopure and yuck! I don't like it I have a bag wasting away on my counter.
  15. Well friends I'm home and I have finally recoup enough to tell what happened to me. During surgery I lost 7 units of blood and required a week stay in the hospital and blood transfusion. Not a great experience....at all.
  16. I asked the same question? Where in the heck did the blood go?! No one could tell me. Yes, the nurses dropped the ball. I believe everyone was caught off guard. They said they haven't had a major complication in 12yrs and I guess they assumed since I was young and healthy it would be a piece of cake. My surgery was at Crestwood. Huntsville, AL
  17. Well I finally had my surgery....do I regret it? Not yet. Although, I had my surgery on Wednesday, 7/10 and I don't remember much about my stay till 3 days post-op. Here is my story. Wednesday morning: arrived for surgery very excited and anxious. After 3pm I was in my room and the surgery was completed. Around 9 the nurse said I needed to try to get up and use the restroom. While trying to get me up my husband told her I didn't look right. I was very weak and pale. Determined she ushered me to the bathroom stating some people just can't handle pain. Thursday morning: the bariatric coordinator nurse comes in and said "you have to get up and walk this morning we are releasing you". My husband told her "something's not right, she doesn't need to get up she needs to be seen by the surgeon again. She verys pale and her breathing is not right". The nurse ignored my husband and got two other nurses to assist her with pulling me up on the bedside. (I was a bit lethargic and don't remember much). My husband said when they tried to make me stand I said "No, I'm about to pass out" the coordinator told me some people overreact and can be melodramatic if they have never had surgery...ugh(FYI I work in the medical field.) When the over zealous nurse raised me up I PASSED OUT COLD! Thank goodness I fell back on the bed. Well, after doing labs and checking my oxygen saturation, it was 75 and I had lost 7 units of blood! I spent the next week in the hospital undergoing blood transfusions and on 5 liters of oxygen just to breath. I will add I'm 29 and in perfect health the dr said he doesn't know what happened but he customarily does not do post surgery labs, which is crazy! So therefore he had no idea I had lost so much blood. Thank goodness I was not released home things could have been much worse.
  18. Well ready or not here I go! I'm at the hospital
  19. Well I'm on my way to the hospital!! Super nervous and excited! See you on the skinny side
  20. The Dr. called today he had an opening so I'm going July 10th!!! Yay so nervous
  21. I'm July 10th as well!!!
  22. Okay! I'm a July sleever!!! The dr's office called its Wednesday 10th, yes in 2 days!!!
  23. So I have been waiting on my surgery date for 2 weeks. I decide today to call the Surgeon and see what the hold up was....well she said she'd call me right back! After, 10 mins she called me back and said come today for your pre-op, we will see Wednesday morning for surgery!!!! Oh my goodness this is sooo real now....I'm terrified!
  24. I can't image the pain you feel, not do I ever want to being a mother myself. You are in my prayers and I'm so sorry for your loss. I know ppl say that things get better with time, but I don't think losing a child would ever get better. Have you ever tried a consular? I know you have been strong, but it's okay to cry. Sometimes we just need to let it all out. You will do fabulous, I have faith in you just as your boys do:)
