  8. Sometimes I'm an introvert. I do better with one1to1one communication. Some would probably think I was quite boring, but sometimes I'm just to busy listening, and can't put my thoughts into words.

  13. I am a recent sleever, 5/13/13. I have lost 27 lbs since pre-op diet start. 245 down to 218. I feel like I'm losing to slow. I know I cant exercise yet, but walking should be ok. Do y'all think that would speed things up a bit?
  14. Hi everyone! I have been an RN for 8 years. I currently work from home caring for medically fragile people that actually live with me. We live in Central Texas. I had my sleeve on 5/13 in Reynosa. My doctor was Dr. Felipe Cantu Jr. He and his staff were awesome. No problems from the surgery. I am only down 25lbs since my pre-op weight of 245. I got a viral illness a week out. I have been very weak since. I am trying to do things every day. Walk a little or something. Some days I do too much, and then I'm in pain. I'm trying to do better in that area. I am feeling better over all. I want to go back in to the Hospice field as soon as I can. I guess that will be between 2-4 weeks. I'm excited about the sleeve because I am a type 2 diabetic (insulin dependent; have hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. )I'm hoping to get healthier now. I feel like I've kind of stalled for the last few days. I am hoping that its just because I started my period yesterday. I wish us all luck. I'm glad I found this group. Anybody is welcome to friend me on my FB. I'm listed as Rachelle Bates Johnston, or rach@joyw.com is my Email. We probably need all the support friends we can find! Ill keep everyone posted!!

  17. 4 total incisions. I larger and 3 and 3 small. No drain needed.
  18. Iso[ure protein shakes are much lighter. You may want to give them a try! I hope you feel better soon! Hang in there and don't loose hope!
  19. I am a 47 year old mother and grandmother. I have struggled with my weight all my life. over the last three years I have developed DM type 2, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. My weight peaked at 248. BMI 41. I didn't want to go down that road. I had a VSG on 5/13/13. I went to Reynosa MX for the surgery. Doctor Felipe J Cantu is my doctor. I cant say enough about him and his staff. They are great. The hospital is newly built and awesome. The patient coordinator, Lupita Lopez, was invaluable to me. She was there for me every step of the way. Everything about the surgery went perfect! My pre-op weight was 233 and I am 5'6.5'' tall. About a week after surgery I got sick with a viral illness. This was unrelated to the surgery; but I was a sick lady for a few days. I went to the ER and got rehydrated and checked out completely. I am doing a lot better now. I am currently 2 weeks out and down to 221lbs. It was the best decision I have made concerning my health. If anyone is considering the sleeve, and Mexico is one of your options, feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.

  22. Ill post my first weigh-in as soon as my scale arrives. I was sleeved on 5/13/13. My weight at the hospital that day was 233. I think the Saturday weigh-in is a great idea.
  23. Mine looked like that too. It got better in a couple of days. It was a tape allergy.
  24. You look great! I just had my sleeve in 5/13. I hope I loose 70lbs!! Keep up the great work!!
  25. I have this stuck on underline; so please excuse me. I don't know how to get it off. My surgery is scheduled for 5/13 in Reynosa. I will be using Dr. Cantu. I am very excited. Current weight is 246. I am 66 inches tall. My goal weight is 140 to 150. I will be going alone.
  26. That sounds more like a reaction to some type of medication. I doubt its from surgical tape. It should be more localized if it were due to tape.
  27. I hope you feel better really soon. I the to hear you are hurting!
  28. I live far from Reynosa. It will be a long drive.
