Did your husband support your decision?
My surgery is two weeks away, but so far my hubby has been incredibly understanding. It helps that he is fit and muscular, so the idea that I might be joining him in fitness probably appeals greatly. But he has said to me, more than once, that he hopes I don't change, and that I don't leave him, and not to focus so much on my appearance because it is what's inside that matters. He tries to say these things lightly, but I know they indicate his vulnerability. And in a lot of cases it is true that wls changes a person; perhaps they become more confident, more self-assured, more outspoken and less likely to "sit there and take it". When you start investing in yourself, doing something just for you, other folks in your life might feel that you are being selfish. I say try to reassure him as much as you can, but stress how important this is to you, and how much you need HIM. His love. His support. His understanding. His patience. Try to make your husband your partner and ally, instead of an outsider helplessly watching you change. Now, if that doesn't work, and he is just determined to be bitter and unhappy, then I say let him be! Staying fat just to appease him is not any way to live your life.

Can't.....stop....looking at this site!
Hah! Mine too. He talks to me and it all sounds like Charlie Brown "womp-womp-womp-womp". And I'm just like "unh-huh, dear. OH! Look at this woman's transformation!"

SLEEVED at Florence Hospital with Dr. Garcia!
Oh it wasn't you I was questioning, Cindy. Another poster, Amazon13, seemed to indicate above that you had done something that was frowned upon or unsafe, and I was just inquiring about what the issue was with having a popsicle. Goodness knows I hope I don't have to count popsicles out of the tiny list of things we get to eat

SLEEVED at Florence Hospital with Dr. Garcia!
Wait is something wrong with that? To my understanding the popsicles count as juice/clear liquid, and are a-okay for immediate post op. I mean, they give you ice chips right away, so the cold can't be an issue.

SLEEVED at Florence Hospital with Dr. Garcia!
Oh gosh, thank you so much for posting this. My surgery with Dr. Garcia is in two weeks, and every single post I read about him is more and more reassuring. I hope you heal well and very quickly, and that the weight just melts away

My bra fits better... And worse.
Do our boobs go straight to hell after this surgery? What if you were smaller (and by smaller I mean c's) to begin with?

Florance vs Mi hospital
Interesting, I didn't know we had an option, wasn't offered one, I was just booked at Florence. And believe it or not, I was kinda disappointed because I had read so much more about Mi Doctor. But now I guess I'm in the better spot after all. Cool!

My birthday and I'm on Puree!
Ugh! I know exactly what you mean, I very specifically decided to do my surgery this month, six months before my birthday and seven and eight months from the holidays. I sure hope you find something that tastes pretty decent as a way to treat yourself. Happy birthday! And know that you have already given yourself the best gift ever!

Wow I loved that video, thanks for posting!

Dr Garcia SPIDER TECHNIQUE
Hi Imdeborah, according to the coordinator and to all the research I've done thus far the Spider technique is done through or right above the navel with a single incision, so in this case, single and hidden are synonymous. Even if, as I suspect in my own case, there is stretching, scarring and darkening of my navel I still find that to be highly preferable to the alternative. But I have asked for pictures of procedures that he has performed in order to see for myself what the incision looks like. Thanks for your concern.

Dr Garcia SPIDER TECHNIQUE
Oh yes, and the surgery is offered to those with a bmi of 39 or lower.

Dr Garcia SPIDER TECHNIQUE
For me this one is a no-brainer; as Rollargirl has already pointed out, faster healing time, less pain, hidden scar. In my case, brown skin tends to scar very darkly, and the scars do not fade.

Dr Garcia SPIDER TECHNIQUE
Im scheduling mine for either April 13 (if financing clears in time) or April 25. Thanks so much for the info!
