  1. Jillian, I am going to TJ with Dr. Kelly as my surgeon on May 16. I'm going through Mexico Bariatric Center I'm going to have to get some unjury Protein powders!
  2. http://www.mexicobariatriccenter.com/hospital-mi-doctor/ I'm going through Mexico Bariatric Center, which I have been very pleased with thus far. When I email them with any questions or concerns, they get right back to me and are very kind. I'm excited to meet Dr. Kelly.
  3. http://bariatricweightloss-surgery.com/bariatric-surgery-facilities/tijuana-hospitals/# this site I found provides details about Mi Doctor. I've heard good things about a lot of doctors in MX, it just takes finding the right one for you.
  4. Mi Doctor is an actual hospital.
  5. Dr. Kelly is doing my surgery. 2 nights hospital stay and 2 nights at the Marriott.
  6. I have a 7 month old and am concerned about lofting him in and out of his crib...or holding him at all. My husband will be home with me the first couple days, but after that, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle it. Any advice?
  7. I'm not from CA but I'm going to Mexico, anxiously waiting for May 16!
  8. My dr. wants me to do a pre op diet for 2 weeks prior to my surgery, this helps shrink your liver to make the surgery go smoother. For breakfast, a protein shake with 15g or more of protein, a protein shake for lunch and then a salad with a meat protein for dinner.
  9. I'm going to dr. Kelly in TJ and the paperwork I've signed says that if your bmi is different by 4, then there may be additional charges....but I'm assuming that is if the weight is gained, not lost. I would lose what you can now, that means the less you have to lose after surgery! Have fun in Hawaii!
  10. Thank you for your comments, they make me feel a lot better!!
  11. My surgery is scheduled for May 16. I am so nervous that something will go wrong, either it be the anesthesia or surgery itself. Is there anyone who can give a little reassurance???
  12. As of march 2010, it is required to have a passport to get in and out of Mexico. They don't always check it at the border but you could be asked to provide it anytime through your stay...or they may not at all. Rather be safe than sorry
  13. My surgery is mid-may also! I know what you mean, I have been binge eating like crazy, gaining weight. I am going to start counting calories using myfitnesspal.com, they also have an app. I can't keep gaining!
  14. I am going to Dr. Kelly with Mexico Bariatric Center on May 23rd for 5200 + the cost of airfare. If you go to Mexicobariatriccenter.com there is a contact page where you'll enter your information and they contact you back very quickly and provide more than enough info. Christy emailed me and is such a sweetie! I did a lot of research and have found that there are a lot of good dr.'s, I didn't find many negatives about dr. Kelly.
  15. I am going with Dr. Kelly on may 23rd. I haven't heard many negative reviews, most have been positive. Im excited!
