  1. I'm not going to lie I was close. With Easter dinner it was one of the hardest things to deal with. BUT I conquered, removed myself from the situation and had some Water and some ice pops!!! THANK GOD FOR ICE POPS!!!!! I feel right now we really don't have any room for error and we have to be as strong as can be in the beginning!
  2. Okay for all of my March Sleevers I first want to congratulate you on the step we have taken to a better life both physically and mentally. With that being said I would like to share an article with you about Slider Foods. Right now I'm having trouble being around food. So I started to do some research and started to see a bright light at the end of my tunnel. I hope the article helps!! http://5daypouchtest.com/articles/art002.html

  8. T minus 36 hours!!!!! Almost GAMETIME!!!!
  9. The group you pertain to is it the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy group?
  10. That's where we differ. I didn't have to do a liquid diet before my VSG. I was put on a 1200 cal for the prior 2 weeks.
  11. Yup I'm on the 27th at 12:30! This calorie counting gives me a headache!!!! Lol. And I'll definitely keep the countdown going!!!!
  12. T minus 60 hours!!!!!!! Holy crap it's here!!!!!
  13. Yeah you don't want to graze! Try to keep a set schedule of when and what you eat. As far as the veggies, you can pretty much steam broccoli and cauliflower for example. As long as they're soft you should be good to eat them. If anything try to set up a plan with your NUT. Hope this helps! Good luck!
  14. I am being sleeved this Wednesday the 27th by Dr. Forrester at Overlook Hospital. If anyone has been sleeved by him or his team at NJ Bariatrics Center I would love to hear about your experience. Congrats to all who have been sleeved and good luck to future sleevers!

  16. The good thing about my Surgeon group is that they have a concierge program with the hospital that they're affiliated with and I was able to do EKG, Chest X-Ray, and Psych Eval in about 1 1/2 hours and I was on my way. I guess for some Dr's their pre-op requirements are different. I'm also on the 27th.
  17. I'm not a big fan of Tofu cuz I'm a real man and only pansies eat TOFU!!!! J/K but the cauliflower rice sounds AWESOME!!!!!! I'm pre-op and I'm gonna try the caul-rice this weekend after I get a new processor cuz the one I have at home is almost older than me I think!!! GOOD THREAD HI FIVE!!!!!!!!
  18. Momof5 : Sorry to hear about your snafu. Hopefully you can get everything in order before surgery date!
  19. I pretty much decided on the sleeve over the Band for a couple of reasons. I didn't want a foreign object in my body. The chance of complications is high with slippage, adjusting, and material breakdown. I also spoke to a couple of Lap Band patients and have heard pretty much the same thing "If I could do it all over again I would've done the Sleeve". For some it just wasn't available at the time as a stand alone WLS. For others there just wasn't enough stats about the success of the sleeve so they decided on the Band. And the RNY is just too drastic and there's too much room for complications for my taste so I decided on the Sleeve. Bottom line is do your research and weigh out the Pros and Cons for you!!! Good luck on your decision.
  20. Mine is also next Wednesday!!! I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. Where r u having yours? I was told by my Surgeon to also have a acid reflux med like Prevacid or Zantac. Also heard a lot of sleevers say to bring a firm pillow for your stomach for when you're getting in and out of bed. If you look through the threads there have been some posts that people have put up that lists a whole bunch of things to bring and not to bring.
  21. I'm so anxious about surgery day it's not even funny!!! It's gotten so serious that I dream about it!!!! Some were good some bad. All I know is that I want to get it over with so I can start the rest of my life!!!
  22. Hi everyone! This is my first post on here. I feel a little weird. My surgery is March 27th. I'm actually a little scared not for what's to come but the fact that I'm going under. I'm very excited about what the future holds for me and my family. Just wanted to introduce myself. Good luck to future sleevers and congratulations to those who have taken the step to a new life!!! God Bless!!
