    all alone :( Arkansas

I've been overweight all of my life so it infuriates me to hear that being overweight is just "mind over matter" or "lack of exercise". I've lost and gained back hundreds of pounds since my teen years and there is very little I do not know regarding nutrition and healthy eating, I had the surgery in February and can honestly say it is only now that I know what it is to be "full" after a meal and what it is not to be haunted by yummy food, what it is to be normal. I know I've done a lot more damage to my health over the years on all of the various different diets, diet pills, chemicals and fasting. You deserve to do this for you.

Can You Fail With The Sleeve?

Oh my goodness... I feel like your words are coming out of my mouth. I had the surgery in February and everything has been great although I know I still have to be very mindful of what I eat and how much. I thought it would all be mindless. My fear now is a year from now when the fullness fades and the 18 month glow is over. Just the thought of feeling hungry again after a life-time of struggling makes me sad. I want to feel this way for ever: Finally in control and not suffering from the food addiction,

    Hubby Doesnt Like Me Now

don't let him do any more damage to you. he will never stop saying crappy things to you and you will always take the crappy things he says to you to heart and it will hurt. we all need someone by our side that makes us soar and is our rock not someone that brings us down or makes us even more self-conscious and turns us into blithering messes. take a break and separate for a while. you are a gorgeous soaring eagle and you need to fly. No one has the right to hurt you.

Tea tree oil shampoo, hair loss!

I don't believe a shampoo can help grow hair only change the texture of the hair that is already there because hair is dead. I've yo yo dieted forever and always lose hair when I'm losing the most weight. While getting ready to be sleeved, I added a Calcium Magnesium Zinc w Vit D vitamin to my already multi-vitamin prenatal routine and it was crazy, my hair actually started growing in better. I'm taking the Nature Made ones now.

    Pain after surgery?

I'm allergic to Codeine and Penicillin. I had no pain at all after the surgery. What I did have was horrible horrible indigestion/gas and vomited a lot of blood for two days (from the anesthesia tube). I used no pain killers and never used the IV. I just rested a lot and walked around the floor for the first day. I was released the second day with a script which I never used.
  6. About two weeks out of my surgery, I was at a kid's birthday party, starving and accidentally left my shake at home. Was more afraid of eating raw veggies, so I opted for some cheese off of a 1/2 slice of Pizza Hut white pizza (no sauce just mozzarella and ricotta cheese) since I thought cheese would be the best option. It was the best I'd felt that week because it had been the first real food I'd eaten... chewed 30 times. I told my doctor when I went in for my 30-day visit, and I got majorly reprimanded. While I agree with him, that it is best to stick to the plan especially so early on, I'd say it's important not to fall into old habits. I mean we've had our stomaches split in two, we probably owe it to ourselves to do the best we can. Now I'm six weeks in and I've got to say it's amazing to actually taste food, to take one bite of food and be completely satisified.. it's wonderful.
  7. Antibiotic Vitamin E cream for incisions. About a week later, they started itching like crazy but they weren't infected it was all part of the healing. It got so itchy it felt like poison ivy. I can't explain the relief after I started putting on the cream.
  8. I wish I would have liquid fasted the day before the surgery.. or atleast have an enema before the surgery. I was put on a liquid diet the week before because I had to lose more weight. I did up until the day before the surgery and had a cheeseburger with onions for lunch because I thought it would be my last meal. After the surgery, I was so gassy and so uncomfortable plus, you probably will not have a bowel movement for a while. I know I would have felt better if my bowels were a little cleaner prior to surgery. I just wished I could have one great bowel movement to get all of the back up out. It's not too late. You can always pick up an enema at the pharmacy. I wish I had. I had no pain at all and used no pain killers in the hospital, but it was the most uncomfortable I've been ever.. and that is including after child birth.
