August 6!!!!!!!!!!!

I will start my pre op diet 7/24 which is also my pre op Dr's appt. Surgery will be August 6!!!!

I've also had a few surgeries. I can remember the operating room with my gallbladder. I remember them strapping my arms down and then I woke up being wheeled to my room. I wake up very easy though.

I got so upset!!! I had all my pre op stuff done in March. I went today to my PCP to get clearance from him as required by the surgeon. At first, he said he couldn't clear me because all the testing was 4 months old. He said I would have to have at least the xray, ekg and bloodwork again before he could clear me. He kept asking me why I did it all 4 months ago when I wasn't having surgery until now. I had no explination for him other than that's when the surgeon's office scheduled all this stuff. He just kept asking over and over. But he decided since I didn't have any lung and heart issues and that I was so young, he would go ahead and clear me. I didn't realize 37 was young! HAHA!! So, last hurdle jumped!!!!!!

I bugged the crap out of the insurance company!!! I knew I was approved before the Dr's office did! I called every other day!!! It will happen!! Good luck!!!

Got the call I've been waiting for!!!!!!!!! I will be starting the journey on my new life on August 6, 2013 @ 10:00 am!!!

My plan will include broth, SF jello, SF popsicles and SF hard candy. I also chewed A LOT of SF gum!!!

I cannot wait to be able to say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Cigna and I had to do a 3 month supervised diet. But nothing about a weight history.

You can get ring guards that will help for a while!! I wore mine on a necklace when I was pregnant and my fingers swelled.

I just called the insurance and they said that I was approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sitting here tears!! I think it's happy tears, nervous tears, scared to death tears!!!! I am looking at surgery either 7/30 or 8/6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They do it to me now and I haven't even had surgery yet!!! I'm not sure how I will handle this after surgery! My NUT has approved me to use the Body By Vi shakes with 1/2 scoop of unflavored protien. I can stomach those better than some of the others.

I figured I would wait until this afternoon! But you can bet I will be calling!! My husband is always telling me, "Patience grasshopper!" HAHA!!

The Dr's office submitted to insurance 7/3, but because of the 4th, they didn't actually "receive" it until Friday 7/5. They require 5 business days. So, hopefully I will have an answer today! I'm going to call again this afternoon. I've been pestering the insurance company to death! Making sure they had what they needed and when I should expect an answer. I will be soo disapointed if I'm denied. But the nurse said she would be extrememly surprised if I was. She said everything she sent met their criteria for surgery. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

WOOHOO!!!! I hope to be doing the fat girl dance here in Illinois today!! HAHA!! They said I should have an answer today! This wait is killing me!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck!! Mine was submitted last week!! I should hear something by Friday at the latest they said! Waiting is sooooo hard!!!!

I have no problems telling people that I'm going through surgery. My family knows, my bosses know. Luckily, I don't have to worry about co-workers as I'm the only person!! My Sunday school class knows as they have been praying for me. If someone asks whatI I'm having done, I don't care to tell them. If they want to try to tell me a horror story, I tell them I've done all the research, good and bad, and have made this decision. That usually stops them.

If all works out, my surgery will be August 6!!!

I just spoke to the nurse! She actually started the submission yesterday and faxed them the information they requested today!! She said it looked like I should have no problems and if she doesn't hear from them by Tuesday, she will call them!!! She said I could actually be having surgery on July 23 if everything works out, but because work, I will have to wait till first of August. But WOW!!!!!

I was so nervous after my last appt that she still wouldn't be happy with my food choices, even though I have been extremely strick!! I had lost 3.8 lbs in 2 weeks. Not alot, but she was very impressed and happy! So, she said we could move forward to submit to insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!

My Dr. said no ice or anything with extreme temps for 2 months because it makes the pouch contract and he doesn't want that happening.

The Isopure left my mouth feeling like cotton!!!

Even though I haven't had surgery yet, the Dr's office really suggest we start going to the support groups. I had such a good time!! They let us have time to just talk among ourselves after the lecture. I found someone to go walking with!! Also talked with a lady who was 2 months post op and she was soo helpful!!!
