  1. Hi!! My surgery is August 6 and I'm on day 3 of the liquid diet. I'm going through a frantic stage right now that reminds me of nesting when I was pregnant! I want to make sure my house is in order, my office is in order!!!
  2. I got the Unjury chicken soup and I can't tell a difference. I'm having a hard time with protein though. My NUT is allowing me to use Body by Vi and 1/2 scoop unflavored protein in each shake.
  3. I couldn't stand the nasal pillow!!! I tired that, the full face mask and ended up with the nose mask. It makes me close my mouth. The nurse said she was glad I didn't like the nasal pillow because my pressure gets pretty high at night. I didn't have any problems with getting used to it. I think the first tine I used it for 6 hours. I really hope this surgery eliminates my apnea, but I don't know as my throat is really small.
  4. So awesome!!! You look FANSTACTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. The nurse told me I would have the catheter until the following day. I will be in the hospital for 3 days, the first night in ICU. That's just my surgeon's preference. He puts everybody in ICU the first night.
  6. I'm pre op, but I've got an auto cpap. My insurance wouldn't pay for a sleep study at the hospital so I did mine at home. They had no way of knowing what pressure I would need, so I got an auto one. It adjusts to what pressure I need.
  7. Same stats as you!! Started liquid diet yesterday and surgery is August 6!!!! I'm actually doing very well with it since I had a stomach bug Tuesday and still don't feel real good. We can do this!!!!!!!!
  8. I also have severe apnea. You sound just like I did a year ago!! I would fall asleep at my desk at work! And after I got home, if I sat on the couch, you could guarantee I would be asleep within 5 minutes!!! As much as I hate my cpap, I also love it!!
  9. They are now GONE! The Dr. shocked me today by telling me that I'm borderline diabetic. I had no idea!!! It scared me and has really shook me up.
  10. Glad to hear it wasn't anything horrible!!!!!
  11. My NUT recommends Bariatric Fusion. It is 4x a day chewable, but she said with this, I wouldn't need any other supplements unless I tested low for something.
  12. I've got a stomach bug!!! I was going to have my last meal last night of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas. Ended up going to bed at 7 pm with a 101.6 temp and haven't eaten anything since lunch yesterday. Oh well, I'm not that upset!
  13. I was low on all my vitamins it seemed. B, D and iron were all low and I had to take extra supplements.
  14. One of my best friends had been trying to have a baby for about 15 years and had the lap band and a few months later was pregnant!!!!
  15. I have not kept it a secret. But like the previous post said, it's a very personal decision to tell or not.
  16. I started my period the morning I had my gallbladder out. Quite interesting trying to get onto the table and hold a pad between your legs!!!! I'm going to start mine any second, so hopefully I won't be when I have this surgery!
  17. I had my approval in 5 business days!! Good luck!!!
  18. In exactly two weeks to the hour, my life will change!!! I'm getting so nervous and excited and scared and happy and sad and crazy all at the same time. Anybody else feel that way??? I meet with the surgeon tomorrow and will start my 2 week liquid diet in the morning. I've got all my questions ready for him, I think...I'm going to ask about my cpap machine, gas x strips, visitors age (I have a 6 year old who will be devestated if he can't come see mom), what meds I need to bring to the hospital, do they expect someone to stay with me overnight...anything else I should be asking?
  19. My surgery was scheduled 3 weeks from when I got my approval. It will depend on the physciatrist. Some require the long testing (mine did) and others just general questions. But the testing wasn't bad, just a bunch of true/false questions.
  20. I also plan on going back in a week. I work for a law firm and I'm the only secretary for two attorneys. Nobody else to do my job while I'm gone.
  21. I had to have pulmonary and cardio clearance. I would have had to do a sleep study but already have a cpap. Had an upper GI, chest xray, EKG, blood work, urine test (pregnancy test), and would have had to have an ultrasound if I still had a gallbladder, but I don't. Psych clearance and PCP clearance. I also had to do thre months supervision from the dietican for insurance.
  22. I'll be in your position in 2 weeks!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I especially liked the several times it asked if I thought someone was "out to get me"!!!
  24. Congrats!!! I have skin issues as it is. The nurse told me that because of that the insurance hopefully will consider it a medical neccesity instead of cosmetic and pay for it when I get to that point.
